We just arrived in Korea a couple days ago from the US. All of Megan’s videos were extremely helpful! I think the only surprise was how many start and stops there were (stopping at immigration, then forward, then customs, then forward, then baggage claim). My wife and I are in Hongdae now (airport limousine bus is very cheap and easy, would recommend). And we will be in Korea for another 6 days between here and Itaewon! Thank you Megan, would love to meet you!

Thank you sooooo much for this video. I've in fact been to a "fake" website for visa that looked so official. They wanted to charge me $109.00 per person!!. I paid for myself.. then I got distracted and didn't get to other family members yet.. also bit discourage at how much it costs. Then I clicked on your video. OMG! I called the credit card company and luckily they put a dispute on the charge and will credit me back. Really enjoy all your videos. Thanks again!
The best on TH-cam so detailed and thorough! I appreciate all of these videos although I do my own research it’s nice to see someone else explain everything in regards to the airport and customers! Great video Megan ☺️🙏🏾✨💕
I just wanted to let you know I really like your presentation style. Great job! Just found your channel, looking forward to making my way through the playlists. Heading to Seoul summer 2024.
Thank you, thank you, thank you! This video is so helpful. I used to live in S.Korea a few years ago and now I'm going back this April for a wedding. Since some things have changed since my last visit I'm really thankful for your video!
As always, thank you for all of these travel guides related to South Korea. There is so much information in the video playlist that has helped me. Thanks for including how many days in advance the Q Code (within 72 hours) and K-ETA (within a year) be completed. I’ve been searching everywhere for a clear answer, and you’re the only person to give me a definitive answer.
I am in Seoul right now sitting in my Myeongdong hotel. Of the 4 countries I visited the past three weeks Korea was the most complicated to navigate for Immigration but I successfully got through it. I came in on Thai Smile Airways and they were helpful in getting prepared. It was a very busy arrival too and took me 2 1/2 hours from the plane landing to arriving in Seoul Station metro.
Hii may i ask you how much does it cost to stay in a hotel? Im planning on going on september but i was considering other ‘cheap’ alternatives such as hostels and airbnb. I will be going alone as a woman and i am very worried for my safety 🥲😅
@@krizel2447 I stayed at Daeyoung Hotel Seoul which was at the time $45 USD/night. Very nice rooms clean and quiet. Much better than the places I stayed in India. Safety is definitely not an issue in Seoul as a solo female traveler you'll be very much at ease getting around at night. The metro system is really nice there I used it a lot and Myeongdong district has lots of places within walking distance.
Not sure if anyone write this (too many comments 😊) but….. In celebration of ‘Visit Korea Year (2023~2024)’, K-ETA will be temporarily exempted to 22 countries/regions from April 1, 2023 to December 31, 2024 (KST). Please note that nationals of 22 countries/regions can still apply for K-ETA, and K-ETA application fee is 10,000 KRW/per person (around 9~10 USD, additional fees not included). This video just got recommended to me and I just want to say thank you for making such an informative and helpful video on this specific topic! As someone who struggles a lot with anxiety and overthinking when it comes to travelling and planning, this really helps me a lot! Thank you for being so clear and detailed in this, and also for actually exploring this aspect of travelling in a video, instead of just the commonly talked about topics of food, culture and such. I will be subscribing for sure! :D
Thank you so much!!! I'm flying there at the end of March for the first time alone and I was really nervous as I didn't know what it would be like and the airport anxiety was through the roof but this has kinda helped me with what to expect a lot more and hopefully can put me a little more at ease with knowing the process now!
im going to south korea for my 21st birthday next year! ive only watched one of your videos and its been the most helpful. ur so kind so i just HAD to subscribe 🥰 감사합니다!
I concur. Your K-ETA is good for two years. I traveled back in October 2022 and currently here again in March 2023 on the same K-ETA. You don't need to print it out. The K-ETA is in their system. But as a good measure, have it saved on your phone just in case they need to see it. Do your Q-CODE, the day before your travel. You can also have this saved on your phone as they will scan this after you de-plane but before you reach customs. I don't remember having to take a wrist temperature but yeah maybe. 🤷🏻♂️
Very good description of the entry process. You accurately described both the process and the physical route to be followed to get through entry. We do it several times each year.
My favorite part of the video is when you said you just came back home to South Korea. Thank you for the updates!! I had to postpone my visit last year. I've been watching your videos since you landed in S Korea on your 2nd visit and got stuck in that horrible room with a window that didn't open more than a small crack. So much has changed for the better! Glad you have finally made a home for yourself there!! I can't wait to visit S Korea! Your videos are super helpful! Thank you so much!!

Hi Megan, thanks for your informative video. Just want to give an update for your viewers. Just now I completed application for K-ETA through the App on my phone. The charges has gone up a bit to 10,300 KRW.
Okay I'm planning to come to south Korea within the next few months for work. I'm just waiting to sign a contract, and then go through visa processing. So, I am about to subscribe and binge your videos haha. If you know any other youtubers that might helpful to watch please let me know. Thank you :)

Thank you so much for your fast, direct, and concise helpful video. I'm planning to visit Seoul this April and I often check what's new (for requirements) and many videos are more than 15mins long. I like videos like this. Thanks again. :)
Thank you Megan! This was super helpful and thank you for just getting to the point and making everything very simple and clear... unlike some websites :P haha
Thank you sooooo much. This short video answered so many of my questions. It’s been 3 years since I was last in Korea and things have changed. I was so confused of the Q code thing - did I need to prove I was negative and when to fill out the form - you answered them in one short video. So excited for my trip now. Got a few more months to wait, but hoping it flies by!
I would advise asking for the K-ETA a month or 2 before your trip in case you get denied the K-ETA. I come from a country who doesn't need visa to enter south korea for a short time so I didn't really plan ahead, asked for it 10 days before my solo trip and got denied. In this case you have to go through regular visitor visa procedures which take from 2weeks to a month (in France) and of course it was too late already. I hope my misfortune can help others visiting SK.
I love you for this video! Going to Korea in about a month and the visa page from my country was so confusing until I realized that I 'only' need the k-eta (needs to be 72h before arrival, compared to 1-2 months for a longer stay visa).
Wow the editing in this video is soo good!! Love the short airport clips and little sound effects. Really well made and really appreciate you for being so helpful 🥺🥺
Wow.. great video. Thank you so much for such an amazing video full of information. Traveling to Seoul in May and did not know about the Q-Code. I knew about the K-ETA visa but not about the Q-Code. Flying from New Zealand. :) Love watching your YouTude video.

Thank you so much for assembling and posting this video! I’m definitely subscribing to your account and looking forward to your insights and tips on life in Korea.
Thank you so much for these helpful infos about entering the country. i saved your video for my trip to sk in september so your video really helped me to know what needs to get done prior.
Thank you this was very helpful. In December I booked a trip for March 5-14, however, three weeks prior to my departure date, I applied for K-ETA and a few days later got denied. Unfortunately, they couldn't tell me why, so i tried again and it wouldn't accept it. Went to the Korean Consulate to get a visa, but by that time i received that, i think it would've been too late...so i cancelled my trip altogether. I think what i did wrong was, they asked me for contact information when i was in Korea, and i just put my personal cell phone number, but i hadn't thought about the hotel's phone number. either way, the information about the sim card and also the QR code thing was super helpful along with all the other specific details you gave. Thanks and hopefully things go a lot smoother the next time i book. Just need to research more about the fall season flights and such, if not, next spring it is.
Hey Megan, just went on the KETA site and it stated visitor's from 22 countries as of 1 April 23 don't need the KETA. Copied and pased from the KETA site. The government of the Republic of Korea announced that from April 1, 2023 to December 31, 2024, the Korean Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) is no longer required for U.S. citizens visiting Korea for 90 days or less for business or tourism.19 hours ago
Oh my god how thank you so very much for this video ! simple, to the point, and totally transparent even for the IQ poor like me !!! I'm going to go and watch the rest now !!! Thank you again. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I am in Korea right now. You should really fill in your q-code and k-eta. When I went into the plane, 3 families were left in my country because they missed the k-eta! Also a tip from me, if your phone supports a E-SIM just buy that
@@motsbane I just arrived home. 😊 Yes I am from the Netherlands, at schiphol Airport they just simple said, no k-eta = no entry. There were people crying at the airport because they payed everything and they were simple not allowed to board the plane.
@@Johanneslol11 That was insane, feel shame for a country like that, for my understanding, they should welcome travellers to boom up their economy, not make things hard, hope the families can get some money back from insurance.
hi megan! thank you for brining us such helpful information in an uncomplicated way! **Question on K-ETA for a Korean contact, I don't plan on getting a SIM card...could I put down the number of the hotel I'll be staying at?**
Thank you so much for creating the complete airport guide pdf. It's really helpful. If I have luggages, which transportation(aside from taxi) is more convenient if my hotel is at Myeongdong. Thank you.
if you have an approved KETA, on that document, it stated "Those who obtained this document do not need to submit Arrival Card during immigration clearance."

Thank you so much for assembling and posting this video! I’m definitely subscribing to your account and looking forward to your insights and tips on life in Korea.
And I love the little quips like “ya done” and “tryin’ to get yo money” that pop up randomly alongside the helpful info.
I just checked the German Travel site and apparently Germans don't need the K-ETA anymore starting on April 1st 2023. Lucky 😊
Thank you so much for these helpful infos about entering the country. i saved your video for my trip to sk in september so your video really helped me to know what needs to get done prior.
Awww… I’m so happy to hear my videos were helpful 🥹❤️✨ Comments like these really mean sooo much to me and are so encouraging. Thank you!! 🫂
Arriving on March 15th. Omg. I am only going to be there for a week this time. Still so excited.
So excited for you dear friend!! 🥹❤️✨
Literally headed there TOMORROW from Japan 😂 thank you Megan
Thank you for this video, i arrive next week so now i know what to do 😊
Your tips are the best!
Best wishes in Korea ❤❤❤❤

The government of the Republic of Korea announced that from April 1, 2023 to December 31, 2024, the Korean Electronic Travel Authorization (K-ETA) is no longer required for U.S. citizens visiting Korea for 90 days or less for business or tourism.19 hours ago

Oh my god how thank you so very much for this video ! simple, to the point, and totally transparent even for the IQ poor like me !!! I'm going to go and watch the rest now !!! Thank you again. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thank you for keeping us updated 🤍
I am in Korea right now. You should really fill in your q-code and k-eta. When I went into the plane, 3 families were left in my country because they missed the k-eta! Also a tip from me, if your phone supports a E-SIM just buy that
What do you mean left in your country? Can I ask please? Do you mean not allowed boarding? Which country?
@@motsbane I just arrived home. 😊 Yes I am from the Netherlands, at schiphol Airport they just simple said, no k-eta = no entry. There were people crying at the airport because they payed everything and they were simple not allowed to board the plane.
@@Johanneslol11 That was insane, feel shame for a country like that, for my understanding, they should welcome travellers to boom up their economy, not make things hard, hope the families can get some money back from insurance.
@@Johanneslol11 Appreciated your reply! Will visit Netherland in August!!
@@motsbane ah great! 😊 Welcome here I hope you have a fun time in my country!
hi megan! thank you for brining us such helpful information in an uncomplicated way!

Thank you so much for this video! I was wondering your thoughts on the wowpass. I live in Taiwan and have found quite a few Taiwanese TH-camrs talking about it, but I haven't seen much in English.
