I am a 61 year old American woman. About a year ago I listened to BTS for the first time. I heard of Kpop but even though I have always listened to all music genres and old and new I didn't think Kpop would interest me that much. I didn't just listen to and watch BTS music videos, I started watching THEM...who they are as people, how they interact with each other and others and I fell absolutely in love with them. Their amazing talent is just a fraction of why they are so loved. These are the 7 kindest most precious, adorable humans on the planet and they are in the same group. It was like finding a 4 leaf clover. Learn about them and who they are, watch their dance practice video to understand just how talented they are and I defy you not to fall madly in love with these angels. They are the only Kpop I listen to... every one else seems like like they are just copying BTS. One day I might listen to other groups, but no one else is BTS.
I've listened to all the others. I just didn't find any other kpop artists that I enjoyed. Its not really my thing. I tend to like a few songs here and there from a few groups. Most ARMY aren't kpop fans. That said, probably 20% of my moots also listen to one or two other groups.

Through BTS I found other K and J indie bands which i really like ! BTS are beyond K-pop. They are so versatile they do everything from rap, hip-hop, R&B, pop, ballads, etc. You might also like their most recent solo albums everyone released before going into the military. I am 55 and grew up on Rock and Metal, and BTS is my favorite group. You should check out Agust D Snooze.

As someone who has been listening to metal/deathcore/emo music the transition into kpop has been absolutely crazy lmao If you told me in highschool that my favourite band is BTS and that I’d be super into kpop also, I’d have laughed at you.

Ok yes BTS dance but they also write, compose and produce most of their own music. They started as a hip-hop group but now have songs in almost every genre. This is their 11th year since debut. I think you'll really enjoy them if you give them a chance

I am metalhead and grew up on j-rock. My favourite bands are Buck-Tick and Dir en grey. So I was kinda surprised when I realised that I really like BTS. And it wasn't the love from a first sight. I mean, I was never closed to any music genre, but I always liked heavier sound in general. When I listened to BTS rap line music, I understood that this is what I like. I started really respect BTS' work ethic and professionalism and I discovered that their lyrics are sincere and meaningful. I mean, it's a game changer for me if an artist writes their lyrics and have a part in producing their music. (No disrespect, but I think that's why I never really got into BabyMetal, even though from a technical standpoint their music is really good) Funny enough, there's a huge part of the BTS fans (ARMY) that came from a metal and rock scene. We appreciate sincerety and authenticity, so no wonder BTS draw us in.
Welcome to reacting and welcome to BTS! In my opinion, this isn't the greatest, it's surprisingly shallow, but it does show their dancing and singing really well. They have so many songs, about 400. They broke the wall down for k-pop to become popular in the US and around the world. They did this through immense struggle as an independent label, and the desire to be perfect. No other group is better. The Korean songs are much deeper. My favorites are FIRE, ON Manifesto, and Magic Shop (live with subtitles).
I’m going to quibble with you just a little bit. They have plenty of Korean songs that are not deep and that’s ok - not every song needs to be deep! They just don’t have the same diversity in English songs because they haven’t done many. I love Dynamite (perfect summer song in your car with the roof open), Butter, and even PTD (video won me over with the kids and sign language).
You might like THE ROSE and DAY 6 The Rose is indie and day 6 is a band. I really love the rose but I am an ARMY also Muti because why not? Korean music is so diverse. Cant wait for you to explore the individual woks of BTS and they also work with live bands on tour too. You might like their Tiny Desk performances too.
Welcome to the rabbit hole😂 I came across BTS three years ago and have been progressively drawn further and further into their realm. 7 young men who were selected for a group that became world famous. They met at the right time and perserved, struggled and finally made it by their own Blood Sweat and Tears (one of their songs BTW). The universe just aligned😊 and I for one am so happy it did. I love these guys. They cross all genres. Their personal styles in music are put aside for the group focus but they are there for each other on their solo projects. K-pop is just all varieties of music so yes Korean Music not poppy songs only. After finding BTS I then delved into more if this music scene so I turned right and left finding other talented groups like TXT, Enhypen, Stray Kids, Black Pink and the list goes on of 3rd generation groups. Then I travelled back in time to the 2nd generation groups of 2pm, 2am, SHINee, Super Junior, Girls Generation, Wonder Girls etc expanding my knowledge and absolutely loving the music. I'm an Australian in my sixties and some of the music takes me back to my teenage years in the seventies but this music is sophisticated. I love the way Korean and English is mixed and think how hard it must be to write music lyrics like this - these people are truly talented and true artists. I feel like I know BTS personally athough I don't, I feel proud of their achievements as if they were my own sons lol. Proud parent by proxy haha. Actually I think the music coming out of Korea for the last few years is much better than that of the western world. Personal preference obviously. Your channel just popped up on my screen so I thought I'd listen and have subscribed. I only listened to rock (alt-rock) before I discovered BTS. I hated 'boy bands' in the way Americans think of them But when I saw my first BTS video nine years ago, I was blown away for a couple reasons: 1. It had rap in the mix, which I thought was interesting and different; and 2. American boybands had never done the skilled choreo that BTS were doing and I was really impressed I came to admit that having that kind of talent was on par with playing an instrument. The Same amount of time and dedication to learning and improving is required. Plus, I found out that BTS composes and writes much of their own music. Just because they perform it differently (kinetically vs. instrumentally) than my rock bands didn't mean that BTS was "less than" my rock bands. I'm happy to hear another fellow rock fan is giving BTS a shot. They deserve it, I think they are amazingly talented and I now have a playlist with over 160 BTS/solo member songs on it!

Japanese band Sokoninaru are an awesome math rock band. I also like indy korean rock band The Rose, my favourite. BTS are so talented there's so many songs to choose from.
It’s honestly impossible to choose a favourite song from BTS (and all my top ones are b-sides with no MVs) but two I recommend off the top of my head are Dis-ease and Louder Than Bombs. For a song with an MV, Black Swan or Fire.

I was pleasantly surprised by your reaction and i do hope you keep listening to more BTS before moving on to other groups, which you should do at some point. BTS are also huge fans of Big Bang, JungKook decided to become a singer after watching G Dragon as a kid and Jimin is a fan of Taeyang and even collab with him on his song called Vibe. There are 2 versions one video is the original mv and the 2nd a live version, both are worth watching. As for BTS songs, i will recommend Fire, Airplane part 2, Blood Sweat and Tears, ON the Kinetic Manifesto Film, Film Out and Run BTS. This will give you a wide range of old and new songs from many genres. For solo songs try Standing Next to You by JungKook, Set Me Free part 2 and Who by Jimin, More and Arson by J hope and Singularity by V, Daechwita by Agust D and The Astronaut by Jin. BTS has so much variety. You'll find some songs that are your style. Another group you'd probably like is TXT. They have a lot of rock music in their discography and even one metal song( Growing Pain) .
55 year old BTS ARMY since 2018. I grew up on punk rock and heavy metal, mostly speed metal. I listened to them because of my daughter, to share in her interests, especially music which is so important. I recommend Dope, Fire, Not Today, ON: Kinetic Manifesto and War of Hormone to start. What I highly suggest is watching Taylor Mari’s Guide to BTS Members; The Bangtan 7. Other groups you may enjoy are ATEEZ, my bias wrecker, Day6 and Stray Kids. Honestly, I’m glad you skipped the English only songs, it’s nice to understand the lyrics easily but the Korean songs they wrote and produced themselves are so much better. Suga is a rapper and the main producer for the team. His solo moniker is AgustD which is DT Suga backwards (DT stands for Daegu town). And yes, he was the first rapper, the one you thought he was with the light blue hair on the big floor keyboard 🎹. He is my favorite rapper and Jin is my favorite vocalist. I highly recommend Fake Love, Mic Drop, On (Kinetic Manifesto), and Black Swan. I love a lot of their b-side songs and I love their lyrics in a lot of their songs. They also have solo songs within group albums & their own solo albums. They also write and produce majority of their own music and have creative control over the themes or direction of each album. Boy with Luv is on their Map of the Soul: Persona album which is a series of albums including Map of the Soul: 7 album that dive into Jungian psychological concepts such as the Persona, Shadow, and Ego.

I just wanna say that, people hardly know this but BTS has a very strong Hip Hop element on their music, especially old school hip hop. 2 of the members came from underground rappers (RM and Suga/Agust D) and 1 from hip hop street dancer (j-hope). There is a great video by Boracity Magazine channel "bts are rockstars a videoessay" that makes some great points about why so many metal heads end up connecting with BTS she's also a metal head. I was also purely a rock fan before I found BTS, I still don't care for most kpop groups music for the most part but BTS have moved past that label years ago imo. She also has a great short guide for BTS called "a guide for BTS (for haters, skeptics, and non-pop fans) but I highly recommend "A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7" by Taylor Mari.

They do many different genres, so what you heard today may be totally different than what you hear next time. Here are my suggestions: Watch a guide or two or three. 😂 there is a short one at Boracity Magazine, a medium length one at Taylor Mari’s channel and a long one at Purple Snow’s channel. It’s so good) Black Swan Born Singer I would honestly suggest you also react to the dance practices. Sometimes there are dance breaks, etc. that you won’t see in the MVs like Mic Drop. You will eventually want to get into their solo music. BTS has record breaking solo singers, too. All of them have won awards and broken records. Also, Boracity Magazine loves metal (there are several reactors who are metal heads and even band members). Boracity has a video called BTS are Rock Stars (or something like that). It might interest you. Always feel free to pause, go back, if watching a guide pause and read, etc. we don’t mind and we don’t mind long videos.

There's no MV, but there is a dance practice video. If you have interests, let Army know. I didn't really notice until now, but Jungkook really did change in appearance. Piercing, and he is working out in the gym and boxing,so he looks a little different and more mature. But his face is still the same and his personality too.But I didn't even notice any changes in him
I have been watching lots of reaction videos lately and yours popped up. I am an old rocker, so why do I listen to Korean music? It happened because my daughter introduced me to K-Dramas back in 2009-10. Korean Dramas have some of the most beautiful soundtracks and I became obsessed with finding out who sang the song and just got lost down a rabbit hole. I too appreciate Bands however, a lot of the members of K-pop groups are musicians and write some of their group's songs. IF you want to react to different bands I suggest "The Rose" and also a group called "Kardi" and "The Fix" "Lucy".... I watched a program called "Super Band" and "Super Band 2" I believe it is a JTBC program I found it on ON Demand Korea. I think you would like the program the concept was focused on musicians. I won't spoil it if you can find the full program also, you can find clips on TH-cam. OH! and how can I forget my favorite kid Sam Kim musically and as a musician Singer/songwriter.... That Kid has some talent.
As someone who is listening to BTS for the first time I wouldn't start with any of the three all English songs, or this one which was clearly written for the American market. Their Korean songs are far more complex, original and interesting. BTS were much influenced by Big Bang and Rain when they started out.

BTS is a complete and very unique world, as a group and soloists there is diversity in music for all tastes, you´ll be surprise when you hear their solo music. I am a 61 year old American woman. About a year ago I listened to BTS for the first time. I heard of Kpop but even though I have always listened to all music genres and old and new I didn't think Kpop would interest me that much. I didn't just listen to and watch BTS music videos, I started watching THEM...who they are as people, how they interact with each other and others and I fell absolutely in love with them. Their amazing talent is just a fraction of why they are so loved. These are the 7 kindest most precious, adorable humans on the planet and they are in the same group. It was like finding a 4 leaf clover. Learn about them and who they are, watch their dance practice video to understand just how talented they are and I defy you not to fall madly in love with these angels. They are the only Kpop I listen to... every one else seems like like they are just copying BTS. One day I might listen to other groups, but no one else is BTS.

Ufff... I feel you. I am a huge metalhead and I am mostly into Jrock and VK myself and in kpop I only like BTS and tbh, I no longer consider them kpop, i feel like they are way passed that because they were involved in every part of the creative process, they are versatile af and touch on so many music genres and topics like social issues, mental health, etc. They started from nothing and build everything brick by brick. They are something special and you will love the fact that they sound even more amazing live and they always tend to have a live band at their concerts and live recordings (very very very unusual in kpop) .

Music was ahuge part of my life and I grew up listening ( first through my parents ) all the legendary bands mostly from the so called British invasion era . Later as a teen I was into groups as Depeche Mode ,U2, Nirvena and Metallica and the old hip hop school! BTS found me 7 years ago when I had lost all interest in music !! Through BTS I found other K and J indie bands which i really like ! I even started appreciating some of the new hip hop artists! 😄
Don't worry if you don't like all BTS songs ( even the most hard core ARMY don't like all of them) just express your honest opinion and be respectful ! Keep in mind that even the most bubbly song of BTS has a deeper meaning or purpose! You have already made a great start! Keep the good work !

BTS are beyond K-pop. They are so versatile they do everything from rap, hip-hop, R&B, pop, ballads, etc. You might also like their most recent solo albums everyone released before going into the military. I am metalhead and grew up on j-rock. My favourite bands are Buck-Tick and Dir en grey. So I was kinda surprised when I realised that I really like BTS. And it wasn't the love from a first sight. I mean, I was never closed to any music genre, but I always liked heavier sound in general. When I listened to BTS rap line music, I understood that this is what I like. I started really respect BTS' work ethic and professionalism and I discovered that their lyrics are sincere and meaningful. I mean, it's a game changer for me if an artist writes their lyrics and have a part in producing their music.
(No disrespect, but I think that's why I never really got into BabyMetal, even though from a technical standpoint their music is really good)
Funny enough, there's a huge part of the BTS fans (ARMY) that came from a metal and rock scene. We appreciate sincerety and authenticity, so no wonder BTS draw us in.

Welcome to reacting and welcome to BTS! In my opinion, this isn't the greatest, it's surprisingly shallow, but it does show their dancing and singing really well. They have so many songs, about 400. They broke the wall down for k-pop to become popular in the US and around the world. They did this through immense struggle as an independent label, and the desire to be perfect. No other group is better. The Korean songs are much deeper. My favorites are FIRE, ON Manifesto, and Magic Shop (live with subtitles).
I’m going to quibble with you just a little bit. They have plenty of Korean songs that are not deep and that’s ok - not every song needs to be deep! They just don’t have the same diversity in English songs because they haven’t done many. I love Dynamite (perfect summer song in your car with the roof open), Butter, and even PTD (video won me over with the kids and sign language).
You might like THE ROSE and DAY 6 The Rose is indie and day 6 is a band. I really love the rose but I am an ARMY also Muti because why not? Korean music is so diverse. Cant wait for you to explore the individual woks of BTS and they also work with live bands on tour too. You might like their Tiny Desk performances too.

I came across BTS three years ago and have been progressively drawn further and further into their realm. 7 young men who were selected for a group that became world famous. They met at the right time and perserved, struggled and finally made it by their own Blood Sweat and Tears (one of their songs BTW). The universe just aligned😊 and I for one am so happy it did. I love these guys.
They cross all genres. Their personal styles in music are put aside for the group focus but they are there for each other on their solo projects.
K-pop is just all varieties of music so yes Korean Music not poppy songs only.
After finding BTS I then delved into more if this music scene so I turned right and left finding other talented groups like TXT, Enhypen, Stray Kids, Black Pink and the list goes on of 3rd generation groups. Then I travelled back in time to the 2nd generation groups of 2pm, 2am, SHINee, Super Junior, Girls Generation, Wonder Girls etc expanding my knowledge and absolutely loving the music.
I'm an Australian in my sixties and some of the music takes me back to my teenage years in the seventies but this music is sophisticated. I love the way Korean and English is mixed and think how hard it must be to write music lyrics like this - these people are truly talented and true artists.
I feel like I know BTS personally athough I don't, I feel proud of their achievements as if they were my own sons lol. Proud parent by proxy haha.
Actually I think the music coming out of Korea for the last few years is much better than that of the western world. Personal preference obviously.

I only listened to rock (alt-rock) before I discovered BTS. I hated 'boy bands' in the way Americans think of them
But when I saw my first BTS video nine years ago, I was blown away for a couple reasons: 1. It had rap in the mix, which I thought was interesting and different; and 2. American boybands had never done the skilled choreo that BTS were doing and I was really impressed
I came to admit that having that kind of talent was on par with playing an instrument. The Same amount of time and dedication to learning and improving is required. Plus, I found out that BTS composes and writes much of their own music. Just because they perform it differently (kinetically vs. instrumentally) than my rock bands didn't mean that BTS was "less than" my rock bands.
I'm happy to hear another fellow rock fan is giving BTS a shot. They deserve it, I think they are amazingly talented and I now have a playlist with over 160 BTS/solo member songs on it!

Japanese band Sokoninaru are an awesome math rock band. I also like indy korean rock band The Rose, my favourite. BTS are so talented there's so many songs to choose from.
It’s honestly impossible to choose a favourite song from BTS (and all my top ones are b-sides with no MVs) but two I recommend off the top of my head are Dis-ease and Louder Than Bombs. For a song with an MV, Black Swan or Fire.

I was pleasantly surprised by your reaction and i do hope you keep listening to more BTS before moving on to other groups, which you should do at some point. BTS are also huge fans of Big Bang, JungKook decided to become a singer after watching G Dragon as a kid and Jimin is a fan of Taeyang and even collab with him on his song called Vibe. There are 2 versions one video is the original mv and the 2nd a live version, both are worth watching. As for BTS songs, i will recommend Fire, Airplane part 2, Blood Sweat and Tears, ON the Kinetic Manifesto Film, Film Out and Run BTS. This will give you a wide range of old and new songs from many genres. For solo songs try Standing Next to You by JungKook, Set Me Free part 2 and Who by Jimin, More and Arson by J hope and Singularity by V, Daechwita by Agust D and The Astronaut by Jin. I also listen to metal music and when I heard about BTS I didn't really expect too much but in the end I really liked their music!!
BTS has so much variety. You'll find some songs that are your style. Another group you'd probably like is TXT. They have a lot of rock music in their discography and even one metal song( Growing Pain) .
BTS has a really diverse discography so I would recommend you to continue exploring more songs from them!

55 year old BTS ARMY since 2018. I grew up on punk rock and heavy metal, mostly speed metal. I listened to them because of my daughter, to share in her interests, especially music which is so important. I recommend Dope, Fire, Not Today, ON: Kinetic Manifesto and War of Hormone to start. What I highly suggest is watching Taylor Mari’s Guide to BTS Members; The Bangtan 7. Other groups you may enjoy are ATEEZ, my bias wrecker, Day6 and Stray Kids. Honestly, I’m glad you skipped the English only songs, it’s nice to understand the lyrics easily but the Korean songs they wrote and produced themselves are so much better. Suga is a rapper and the main producer for the team. His solo moniker is AgustD which is DT Suga backwards (DT stands for Daegu town). And yes, he was the first rapper, the one you thought he was with the light blue hair on the big floor keyboard 🎹. He is my favorite rapper and Jin is my favorite vocalist. I highly recommend Fake Love, Mic Drop, On (Kinetic Manifesto), and Black Swan. I love a lot of their b-side songs and I love their lyrics in a lot of their songs. They also have solo songs within group albums & their own solo albums. They also write and produce majority of their own music and have creative control over the themes or direction of each album. Boy with Luv is on their Map of the Soul: Persona album which is a series of albums including Map of the Soul: 7 album that dive into Jungian psychological concepts such as the Persona, Shadow, and Ego.

There is a great video by Boracity Magazine channel "bts are rockstars a videoessay" that makes some great points about why so many metal heads end up connecting with BTS she's also a metal head. I was also purely a rock fan before I found BTS, I still don't care for most kpop groups music for the most part but BTS have moved past that label years ago imo. She also has a great short guide for BTS called "a guide for BTS (for haters, skeptics, and non-pop fans) but I highly recommend "A Guide to BTS Members: The Bangtan 7" by Taylor Mari.
Welcome and congratulations on starting your channel. You seem really nice. BTS is an amazing group to get to know. They do many different genres, so what you heard today may be totally different than what you hear next time.

Watch a guide or two or three. 😂 there is a short one at Boracity Magazine, a medium length one at Taylor Mari’s channel and a long one at Purple Snow’s channel.

You will eventually want to get into their solo music. BTS has record breaking solo singers, too. All of them have won awards and broken records.
Also, Boracity Magazine loves metal (there are several reactors who are metal heads and even band members). Boracity has a video called BTS are Rock Stars (or something like that). It might interest you. Always feel free to pause, go back, if watching a guide pause and read, etc. we don’t mind and we don’t mind long videos.

I'm what i found your channel! If you'd like to hear a heavier sound for BTS, you might check out "Run, BTS" (which is a different song than "Run" by BTS). There's no MV, but there is a dance practice video.
If you have interests, let Army know. There are so many entrance points to the artistry of BTS, so if you like stuff like dance, choreography, story lines and writing, lyrics, videography, vocals, live performances, etc., just mention it and it'll help make recommendations. We're a breathing recommendation machine.

I didn't really notice until now, but Jungkook really did change in appearance. Piercing, and he is working out in the gym and boxing,so he looks a little different and more mature. But his face is still the same and his personality too.But I didn't even notice any changes in him

I have been watching lots of reaction videos lately and yours popped up. I am an old rocker, so why do I listen to Korean music? It happened because my daughter introduced me to K-Dramas back in 2009-10. Korean Dramas have some of the most beautiful soundtracks and I became obsessed with finding out who sang the song and just got lost down a rabbit hole. I too appreciate Bands however, a lot of the members of K-pop groups are musicians and write some of their group's songs. IF you want to react to different bands I suggest "The Rose" and also a group called "Kardi" and "The Fix" "Lucy".... I watched a program called "Super Band" and "Super Band 2" I believe it is a JTBC program I found it on ON Demand Korea. I think you would like the program the concept was focused on musicians. I won't spoil it if you can find the full program also, you can find clips on TH-cam. OH! and how can I forget my favorite kid Sam Kim musically and as a musician Singer/songwriter.... That Kid has some talent.

As someone who is listening to BTS for the first time I wouldn't start with any of the three all English songs, or this one which was clearly written for the American market. Their Korean songs are far more complex, original and interesting.
BTS were much influenced by Big Bang and Rain when they started out.
