  • In this Video I go about DSG and their complete Valorant run, while it certainly hasn't been the worst it's definitely something the community should know about especially with how the valorant scene is evolving at it's present stage.

    I think the main issue is Yay went from an agent that he could insta get away and reposition and playing with 3 of the best fighters in NA and the smartest IGL in na (arguably the world). He got set up with an insane agent that fit him perfectly and he had some of the best support that made him even better, This DSG yay was expected to dry peak 2 and kill both and tho sometime he did, he clearly had too much rust from not playing in organized val to do that and he got punished a lot. Hopefully he'll get signed for T1 or at the very least picked up by a top T2 team who can play with him

      @sinnfpss ปีที่แล้ว +16

      No its the main issue if you ever watched Yay in 2021 when he was with ENVY you dont know how good he was on the jett role when chamber wasn't meta Yay would dominate the scene in 2021 and they actually almost won masters once in 2021 and even almost (not saying Yay did) but almost even competed at TenZ prime and both of each other were getting shit on left to right and each game against each other SEN VS ENVY were really close i mean really close. Also people think that Yay only played Chamber in 2022 when chamber was meta but Yay kept switching playing either duelist or Chamber more chamber ofc but he was still crazy on Jett so its not the Chamber role that hes not playing and also no one expected him to dry peak 2 and kill both. People expected him to shit on t2 pros while he was t1 which was not to case. I think your kinda wrong when saying "he clearly had too much rust from not playing in organized val." I hope you realized that Yay played in LOCK IN which was in Febuarary and he took a break for about 1 and a half month while he came back in mid April which was his first match with DSG. You might say that might be a lot of time, yes it is a lot of time but I hope you realize that Reduxx who plays for OXG esports never actually played in REAL tournaments you can even check on vlr he never played an offical tourney and he performed really well playing for OXG while Yay even though he took a month and a half break hes played t1 valorant for his entire valorant history before that. Thats the difference so its not really "too much rust." For me I think that's just an excuse for him playing hot ass. (BTW im not trying to hate im just saying my opinion btw.)

Or how Moist Moguls didn't exist until after Toast made DSG and even made xQc interested in buying a team, creating the Creator Owned teams we have and will be moving towards in the future I imagine/ Or how Game Changers hit over 100K concurrent viewers when the DSG GC team played. i can understand yay for basically dissing his team after the final loss, i mean they never won a series after signing yay. Even against the worst seeded teams, they failed to win. But it certainly had something to do with yay's mental overtime, after some bad preformances and even loosing with GOOD preformances eventually nobody can keep up with that. It's true that dsg switching igl's was the nail in the coffin, i mean they were loosing 3v1's with spike down and it wasn't even like some insane tier 1 clutch like the ardiis 3k against drx on ascent, it was more like they just peaked when it was unneccessary and just got shot.

    For all the people in here saying that C9 destroyed Yay’s career is funny, when multiple teams were still looking for a sixth man (nrg, 100t, sentinels, and EG was looking replace a ninth man for their ten man team). To say that Yay did not have options is ridiculous, the man had an insane salary and even with no buyout teams knew that Yay was not worth the price he wanted (even though he was willing to take cuts in salary). It was rumored that C9 and 100t were the only two teams that were willing to pay the optic buyout and 100t quickly pivoted to cryo (which funnily enough had a higher buyout). Also did people forget that whilst he was on C9 he wasn’t even the best player and had issues running in a more loose style that C9 likes to play. Also according to not only jack but mCe on his streams, they were the most coin flippy team in scrims and there were legitimate roles issues with the roster. C9 had to make a choice and honestly they made the right one. Not only did they look more cohesive as a team they allowed their best player to shine brightly. People will make fun of them for missing out on Tokyo, but when you consider they threw multiple rounds on lotus and could have easily won OT on haven with zelsis brimstone ult against nrg in a map 3, I think they did just fine.

    The point about esports teams not being profitable isn't true, RiotGames esports aren't profitable, sure, but Valve's dota 2 has had orgs and teams in the scene for over a decade, even when they're not super successful. Valorant and LoL don't pay enough money for championship success, so it doesn't breed success. When you put serious money on the line, you get players competing at the highest level actually possible, as victory means a complete change of their life.
    In Dota 2, the winning team splits 20 million dollars. In league/valorant, you're lucky to split a million even if you're the best team in the world by far. Meaning teams have to rely on merchandise and fan contribution to pay players salaries.

    DSG was truly a L ORG, Toast should have done research before getting into esports scene . Just look at MxM their roster looks so promising and IN DSG we can see a Troll team . XXIF was not the problem that guy was doing his job and replacing their IGL steel just made them x10 worse

    • @howaboutdat
      @howaboutdat ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Lolwut. Without DSG, Lud would never have picked up a team mid-season. DSG built the team from scratch, got through an incredibly hype open qual & got a bunch of people invested into Challengers.
      Lud had a choice of the only 2 FA teams available, mid season, & happened to strike gold.
      You’re also acting as if Toast is the one making those team changes when it’s all the head coach. He also did plenty of research, Sean Gares recommended the coach even.

    toast's constant moody behavior and depressed look while his team was fighting for their lives really pissed me off. the poor players did not deserve this kind of toxic environment in which they had to fear for their position every single week while entirely reliant on an immature manchild.

    • @khoonsta
      @khoonsta ปีที่แล้ว +8

      The players did not deserve this kind of salary from their poor owner more like lmao. toast invested his money and trust in them, but the players just suck playing together, that's it. If the environment was toxic, then it's the players themselves and perhaps the coach that made it so. Blaming toast for their poor performance is dumb af.
