The part where he hits you from across the arena while you're trying to heal was spot on
I felt that shit so much. Literally every attempt on a Crucible Knight.
After some hundred hours of Elden Ring - these things still trigger my "THE PURSUER" PTBS every damn time I fight them. Dark Souls II survivors feel me XD
Garbage input reading. The dogs do it pretty badly too. They attack the very microsecond you hit an attack input.

I used my Mimic in that fight. I handled Ordovis (the sword one) and my Mimic handled the spear one. We were a great team.
The Crucible Knight isn't pondering his orb, or sorrowfully reposing on his divan. He's pumping iron. He's getting ready. Your defeat becomes a protein shake for the next training cycle. I admire that.
Never not be bulking, even if the Lord you served is gone and the lands you called home are in ruins.

The Crucible Chads were truly a thorn in my side for a long time.
but then you realized they are super easy to parry
The Gigachad gank in that Hero Grave was the only boss in my entire playthrough where I needed to summon a friend for help. NG+ though I got them myself and the revenge was oh so sweet.

I fully cheesed the first crucible knight. There's a glitch where it would get stuck on a rock and could just riddle it with arrows or whatever else you have on hand

As tough as a lot of the gaols were, I really like that there's zero penalty to attempting them. Since you can retrieve your runes without re-entering the gaol, you can try those bosses whenever you want without having to risk losing your runes if you have to give up on the boss and go elsewhere.
Yknow you could, like, spend your runes. On stuff.

@@trazyntheinfinite9895 Some players may want to set a personal level cap too so as to be in a decent "queue" for PVP since PVP tiers based on a player level. Most players don't exceed lvl 200.

I’ll never forgot that one trivia post fromsoftware posted saying who did the crucible knights serve. I then saw a comment saying “no clue but they served me my own ass more than once”

@@brycecai4700 *slides glasses up nose* actually they USED to serve Godfrey and the primordial crucible hence their aspects of the crucible, now however they serve kinda whoever they want. Half of them are just sitting dejected somewhere (probably the Godfrey ones) and there’s even the one who now works for volcano manor.

The irony of them being immune to everything and having insane poise but also being easier if you are "aggressive" (be next to them) in my experience is hilarious they are one of my favorite enemies.
Flame of redmanes is top notch against these guys. 👌

They even have the archers, just at the gate to Leyndell this time.

Omg I swear they know exactly when you pull your potion. They ALWAYS zoom right in as soon as you get a second to heal.

@@tsm688 it technically isn’t input reading, they’re programmed to respond to certain animations, like flask drinking. same with the godskins. it’s still not great or really “fair”, but it isn’t input reading
The crucible knight in the evergaol at stormveil almost gave me more trouble than Margit and godrick combined (not that i beat Them easily). This video is litterally my experience in a nutshell.
He definitely gave me more trouble than a lot of bosses. I felt this so much lol
The crucible knight in stormveil castle is harder than margit and godrick put together, IMHO
I'm at level 300 and they can still kick my ass if im not careful.
I need to go back through Stormveil, because I seem to have overlooked an evergaol that was actually in the castle. I'm thinking back to my run through the castle and I guess I ran into one that's on a raised bit above one of the courtyards that you can get to via the rooftops. It's that area where there are like 2 knights close together. I tried that way just the once before opting to just make it through the castle.
When I got through the courtyards and got to Godrick I wasn't worrying about much else at that point. I'll have to go through an adjustment period when I get back into Elden Ring. I've been away from the game for over 2 months thanks to some real life crap and also choosing to concentrate on Bloodborne and Dark Souls 3 instead.
I 1sr tried Margit and Godrick but the Knights... I died some Times xd

The lunge response to the healing potion input was brilliant, the tarnished facial expression matched my own.
I like how he keeps finding more muscles to flex 😂
So good. The tail swing made me lose it. Then, being mixed into the brotein shake. Wham! being played at the gym was the finest of icing on this beefcake.
Playwise, the only small satisfaction is when you finally manage to poise break the bastard, so you get your critical that still does next to nothing.
If you understand Crucible Knight's movement patterns, rhythm and weaknesses
Crucible Knight is a very good enemy to fight (while dying for the 2123rd time)
It's funny to describe Crucible Knight as an overly fit muscle fanatic, and I can't help but smile when the muscle angel wings appear.
The tail got me!
Learning their pattern and timings also helps with a couple of future bosses as their powers and timings are really close to each other. Reminds me of first Gundyr from DS3. His first phase gets you accustomed to most of the timings and his second phase teaches you to be prepared for unexpected and wild combos
Everything but the ground stomp, magic, and shield bash are easy to parry due to the long telegraphing of their attacks and made even easier with the Buckler you get from Gostoc in Stormveil
When you understand all of that they become rather easy but thats the point of souls enemy design
@@nameltneGesreveR and you can jump over the ground stomp, and dodge the rest. They are really well designed. The only problem is when they put two of them in the same fight.
Once I acquired Bolt of Gransax, I destroyed these guys!!

Crucible Knights are the only enemies where I always Comet Azur. Most bosses I try to fight without the meme beam unless I'm fed up and want to move on.

Thats what sold me on the very first carbot elden ring video, him screaming the whole time while everything pummeled him was perfect then the silent hopeless drop at the end
Yes, my first thought when the Crucible Knight ran me through so many times: he lifts bro
Me entering the "first" evergaol before reaching Margit, thinking it's a part of the area, only to have my ass handed to me. Then I figure it's some kind of high level content and leave it alone.
20 hours later, after clearing the castle, upgrading, leveling up a bunch and encountering several more evergaols, which I dared not touch since I thought the "first" is supposed to be the easiest, I go do Blaidd's quest (another evergaol) and realise the boss is a chump. Then I clear out 3 more evergaols and remember the "first" one.
Payback time! Since I thought it was "first" and easiest one I stroll on in and promptly got my ass handed to me several more times before I decided to leave it alone until endgame.
Or you could bang your head against it for a few hours and beat it like me 😎 ( and then get a bad incantation that I don’t have the build for or the levels)
I was clearing all the zones before Margit, and grinded on him at low level until the magical win happened. Now I will never do that evergaol again, ha
@@neutro1538 I actually kinda forgot about him and played on. I was in the endgame when I remembered. By that time I'd already bruteforced and cheesed my way through several roaming crucible knights and have banged my head against (and defeated) the boss fight with the 2 of them in the hero tomb. So when I came back for the evergaol knight I was well versed in the ways of crucible knight asskickery and promptly wiped the evergaol's floor with him.
These games in a nutshell, you always feel like you get back at the bullies, if you're persistent enough
Personally after getting my ass handed to me I went and beat Godrick. Then I saw how effective "Bear Witness!" Was on them. So I cheesed the hell out of him with it.

There are a few theories going around about what exactly was or is Crucible of Life, but for now I'll just say that Gold in this world while it is something seen as holy and beautiful it is hiding something sinister underneath.

0:18 This is Claw Talisman which you can find at Stormveil castle. It increases damage of your jump attacks. Pretty useful.
0:22 Buuuut this guy is EXTREMELY strong, has A LOT of Poise and is most likely a good old troll from Fromsoft by putting this guy also very close to Stormveil which is to most people the very first Legacy Dungeon.
0:24 And he does A LOT of damage too.
0:31 Don't bother running away, he will catch up to you. Also this game has a system that feels REALLY artificial. You see, certain enemies will make a certain attack whenever yo try to heal. It ISN'T actually an input read, but this attack triggers from the very first frame of your character taking out the flask which makes it look like input read. You can watch a video of Zullie the Witch, a great youtuber that covered this subject in more detail. My advice. Trigger easy to dodge attack and then heal.
0:34 Those Knights are complete bullies. They are basically black knights (DS1 tough enemy) of this game, but even more broken.
0:40 Also he has ranged attack (sort of, he just stomps in front of him and creates stones from the ground) because fuck you.
0:42 One saving grace is that he walks slowly
0:45 But his charge can take care of that. ALWAYS look at this guy. Never look away.
0:48 And he has magic because fuck you. This attack is a Crucible Spell, this allows him to create wings that let him fly for a moment and dunk on you. They are called Aspects of the Crucible which also hints at something about certain people which we will get to later.
0:50 And also a tail attack because again... fuck you.
0:53 And it has REALLY long range and it goes twice sometimes when you are too far away I believe, better learn those dodges.

1:07 Oh my God. Do NOT go into that Hero Grave. This is Auriza's hero grave which has easily THE MOST infuriating carriages of DOOM, horrifying lay out and most of all it has a REALLY hard boss. My advice. When you are seeing two carriages on fucking stairs going by each other use Magit's shackle (or Mogh's which you can find in Leyndell's sewers). If they didn't patch it yet this thing will trigger a mechanism near those stairs that will destroy those shitty things and give you Tree Sentinel Armor. Again, it is a bug, not something planned, no lore reason behind it. It's just that this effect has very long range and it affects that mechanism. Pray it's not patched.
1:09 But the worst part is that this grave has TWO CRUCIBLE KNIGHTS by the end. One with a spear, another with a sword. You get sword, shield and armor for it, but it's REALLY infuriating either way. Good luck.
I don't think that's G-Fuel. More like gym bros/goers really like their protein shake or their pre-workout mix (Hence the shake with the 'rattle'), which G-Fuel is none of that.

1.06 and Margitt / Mohg shackle bug is still there. Maybe, just maybe, it's a grace. If you have either of them and you know what they do here, they will still work. Otherwise, most players will just use them at their respective boss fights and never know about this trick in this grave.
First time I did that trick in the Auriza Grave, I literally got bored since I had nothing to dodge down those halls except those archer skeletons.
These are my favorite mobs that Carbot has every made. They strut, they flex, they just are and you become its next protein shake.
The sound effects of these animations are so damn good. They really bring everything together and make the animations funny and satisfying to watch.
Excellent job on all of these. I've been watching a few a day for a few days. They put me in a good mood.

I never shared this dread, until I ventured into Auriza Hero's Grave and the two of them proceeded to spitroast me about 20 times before I cracked the shits and used flame of the redmanes to delightfully send them into the abyss. Tbh it wasn't even cathartic, I was just glad that bag-of-dicks fight was over.

Mimic sucks for Int/Faith builds now because they're too dumb to use spells/weapon skills
For me crucible knights was one of the hardest fights in the game for me. Some of my friends hated the traps before them though haha.
The last sentence describes far too many bosses in Elden Ring IMHO.

I think he draws everything on seperate layers and adds everything in on top of the background and there was just a mistake where he didn't actually put in the undamaged snake. I swear they know before hand when you're gonna chug your flask cause they teleport from the end of the arena to hit you the second you press square. And you captured that moment perfectly .
This is the exact experience I had with the first Crucible Knight, jeez.
These were seriously some of my most favorite fights in the game. (though at the time I was filled with a white hot rage)
So many people complaining about crucible knights yet they are the best designed fight in the game compared to 90% bullshit bosses you get

This was the first real challenge in the game, and I'm so glad that I learned how to fight them early on. They are fairly easy to parry, so parry and punish is the best tactic against them.
I haven't even played this game yet...and yet Carbot's portrayal of it tells me all I need to know about the game.
The crucible knight in limgrave was one of my favorite fights to learn and master, took forever but now they're one of my favorite tougher enemies to fight

They're a bit like Champion Gundyr in DS3. They're designed to test your understanding of the combat system and convey what the devs had in mind. Maybe you were lucky or cheesed your way through the game so far, but this ends here and now. xD
And these are commanded by Godfrey, The First Elden Gigachad
I remember these guys lol. You try to get behind - tailed. You hit them up front - blocked. You do range attacks - they fly across the arena to sucker punch you.

This might be the best one so far...I struggled for hours on this guy in my first playthrough. Then when I accidently found out late game that you had to fight 2 of them, and I had like 80k runes with me...I about cried.
I can't believe I missed this. This has to be the best and silliest video of crucible knights I've seen and It's 100% accurate. Down to the closing the distance every time you want to use a potion. Muscles for the crucible moves were the best. Love your humor and how you hit every note like Robin hood with his arrows. Bravo

@@executioner_ecgbert884 exactly. Which is why I run at them at a low level, miss a parry and then proceed to die to them for a bit until I relearn the timings :) But I agree, parry shuts them down really well.

After all this is done I'd love to see a randomiser run episode where they're screaming at the absurd encounters that can happen
The end when he walked into that awful heros grave and saw 2 of them was just a perfect depiction of how it felt. That was one of the hardest boss fights in the game for me, I did it pretty underleveled and it took me about 3 stupid days lol
My feelings about this boss fight when I saw there's two of that badass boys:
"NOPE, NOPE, NOOOOOPE!!" **Dies impaled**
I found best way to learn it was put my sign down to be summoned in over and over. Biggest problem was keeping whoever summoned you alive for long enough to actually learn anything lol
This was awesome, had a really good laugh throughout. But if this was the Crucible Knight, then I can't wait to see what you'll do with the Bell Bearing Hunter :D

That one Crucible Knight was the first time I died double digits to one enemy, first time I thought about quitting the game, and first time I (very) audibly screamed when I finally beat them😂
I just fucking love the memes around those crucible knights, whats funny is my first run of the game started with a friend dropping me a full set of their armor
