  • It's your favourite eggy beverage. But what happens if you put it in a Sodastream and try to carbonate it?
If you enjoy these videos you can help support the channel with a dollar for coffee, cookies and random gadgets for disassembly at:-

This also keeps the channel independent of TH-cam's advertising algorithms allowing it to be a bit more dangerous and naughty.

Advocaat is very popular here in Poland, so I might try to refrigerate it (gas solubility in liquids increases as temperature decreases) and then carbonate it with a soda siphon. Surprisingly, they're still around - and I thought they were relicts of a bygone era... They were popular in the People's Republic of Poland and almost disappeared in the '90s when you could buy bottled sparkling water.

Hey Clive, don't know if it was mentioned before (or if it even works) - but I'm pretty sure that if you extend the gas output stem (using some tubing shoved on top of it) so that it reaches further down into the bottle, you could carbonate smaller quantities of liquid. That should allow you to be less cautious when de-gassing, as the foam won't be that much of a issue...

Advocaat is one of my favourites. It's like custard for alcoholics.
I keep forgetting I can watch your videos on patreon and see them early. But I can wait, is fine. =D

I'm kind of curious how, or what (if anything) will it do to *_Amaretto_* - a more "syrup" type liquid...
... I don't think it will add/detract much to the flavour of *_Amaretto_* but my curiosity has peaked.

Hey quick detail! From what I know this is thin Advocaat, mainly for export. Here in The Netherlands we drink it much T H I C C-er and top it with whipped cream, much like a custard.

I'm still convinced overstocking Advocaat was the reason Haddows etc went out of business. In the final days they were sold out of almost everything but still seemed to have an endless supply of Advocaat, with shelves full of it.

I called it the Cherry Berry

I would be curious with some of these to see what would happen if you were to shake the carbonated liquids, will they fizz up like normal carbonated drinks? And if so what will give the best fizz?

Wow! Your advocaat is very liquid if compared to what we buy in The Netherlands! I like to mix some Cointreau to improve the flavor and smell.

I just now came to a realization after gazing into your beard. I have been inadvertently growing the same beard style as you... Almost a year ago we were told at work dress code has changed from allowing goatees to allowing beards. so I just let a beard grow in behind the goatee.

@@hammieism ah, that sort of makes sense. The lenght rules is a bit harsh
If a 10 inch beard is bungeed up its really unlikely that a loose hair goes anywhere.
And if a hair falls in your dough it would be more noticeable than a 1 inch hair?

"I'm greedy for carbonation" should be Clive's catchphrase.
For example, when he goes into the bank to sit down with a banker to get a new loan, the first thing he should say when he shakes hands with the banker should be "I'm greedy for carbonation".
