  • Sometimes it's nice to look back and see just how far things have come since the early days of Magic: The Gathering. To that end, we're bringing you a series of short videos that highlight Magic: The Gathering expansions throughout the years.
In this video, we (along with special guest, MTG senior designer Mark Rosewater) take a look back at Guildpact, the second set in the MTG's impactful Ravnica block.

Guildpact Prerelease was the most fun prerelease I've ever gone to. Love this set. Love those guilds.

This was the set the introduced me to the glory of the Izzet Leauge and because of that I'll always love it.
Copying spells that were not meant to be copied is the funniest thing

What a fantastic series, as a relatively new player this is great to get to know some of the old sets!

Quick note. *Quietmen. Not *Ghostmen. But otherwise a solid story recap.

comment about not really mtg but a combination of mtg and d&d...to get the feel of adventuring it might be best to create a whole new game where you go on missions, equip your characters with spells, abilities and equipment. the closest i seen to this in a card game was the star trek card game...though it it had flaws it could fit nicely into a dnd/mtg game setting. ...just an idea to ponder.
