I finally received some wire and beads and for the first time I tried wrapping with wire. I ended up crying because my wire kept bending the wrong way and twisting the wrong way. I was so excited to start this new hobby but it was so difficult I don't know if I'll figure it out. I've been watching tons of how to videos and I still don't understand how to figure out what wire to use. Do you have any advice for me as a complete beginner?
@@jewelrybyjewelz Firstly it takes lots and lots of practice to perfect the wire wrapped loop. I'm currently working on a video all about that. Don't despair. You will get there. We can do it together. Definitely try a 22 gauge half hard wire (also called German style wire). It's the only one I ever use for wire wrapping. It's hard enough to hold it's shape but not too hard that you can't get it to work. If you're still struggling you could try a 24 gauge. Let me know how you go

Thank you so much. Have ordered some supplies to make my first bracelet. Do you know about how many beads for a 9 year old girl. She’s not in my City to try it on her.
Thank you. You may want to watch this video which gives a better example of tying the bracelet. th-cam.com/video/74NRwGQVkzE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=rsT4fNACcQtvRKYd As far as beads are concerned, it really depends on the size of wrist. If you can get the wrist measurement, then you can work out how many beads you need. My wrist measures 16.5cm if that helps.
You're very welcome. Thank you so much. You also might like to watch this video where I explain the knot more in detail. th-cam.com/video/74NRwGQVkzE/w-d-xo.html
Hi Patti, thank you for your question. I would definitely use stringing elastic for this project but remember to give it a good tug first to stretch it before stringing your beads.
Thank you so much. You might also like to watch this video about how to tie that knot. It goes through it in much more depth. th-cam.com/video/74NRwGQVkzE/w-d-xo.html

Question: I am using 1mm elastic chord and single threaded, how long to make the double wrap bracelet in total? How long was yours? Thank you for the demo.
That depends on the size of your wrist. You want the elastic to go around your wrist twice plus a reasonable amount to work with. My wrist measures 16.5cm so I would but the elastic at 50-60cm which gives you enough space to work with. You might find this video useful. th-cam.com/video/74NRwGQVkzE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=-IE6m8dWxm3Ii9KG

Great question, Shelley. Thank you. I am using an 8mm x 5mm bead cap. You can find them here: www.affordablejewellerysupplies.co.nz/products/tibetan-style-star-bead-caps-8mm-x-5mm I find that if you use a bead cap with a wider spread the same size as the beads it works best.
Hi, this is an interesting question. I had a customer who kept having issues with silver tarnishing. She was storing it in plastic bags. I did some research and found that you shouldn't store it silver in plastic bags but then, I watched a video where the maker was keeping her things in plastic bags to stop them tarnishing. I have started covering up my chains on their rolls with plastic wrap and its definitely working so I'm confused. Sorry, I'm adding to your problem but I really don't know the answer. The plastic wrap seems to be working for me. You could try that and report back. Thanks.

Thanks Rodolfo. There are lots of answers to this question. I actually answered it on my members only live yesterday. Keep it dry (watch the humidity in the room) cover it in non-pvc based plastic would be my best suggestions. You can also buy anti-tarnish tissue paper or strips to put in with your jewellery.
Thank you Amin. That's exactly why I used two strands, it seems to stop the wear and tear. I have been using this technique for ages and have never had one fail but I do use all sorts of different elastic too.

Hi, Love Bug12. Thank you so much. I did a quick Google search which said that the standard bracelet size is between 6.5" and 7.5" which would average out to be 7". I think if you're making to sell, make some in all three sizes. It also depends on the style. For example, a stretch bracelet needs to be slightly smaller on the wrist than a non-stretch one. I hope that helps.

It still falls off if one of the threads break. You need 2 completely separate threads with separate knots of you want safety. If one breaks the other still has to remain intact so you notice one thread is loose and you can start rethread it without losing beads.

I have a question I have not gotten the answer for Valentine's day, what is the most common thing people buy? Bracelets and necklaces or earrings and or all? I'm trying to figure out this for myself but I cannot get an idea and I need it
I actually have no idea. No-one ever buys me jewellery (for obvious reasons) and I don't buy jewellery for anyone else. I also don't sell my jewellery. I think if you google the question you might have better luck getting the answer. Thank you, though. Maybe it's something I need to look into.

Thank you. You just need the elastic to go through your beads enough times. I've since updated my knot technique so you might find this video useful. th-cam.com/video/74NRwGQVkzE/w-d-xo.html
Absolutely beautiful. Love the double design. I have subscribed. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you so much. Will be bringing you new tutorials every week. Enjoy.
Thank you so much. Have ordered some supplies to make my first bracelet. Do you know about how many beads for a 9 year old girl. She’s not in my City to try it on her.
Thank you. You may want to watch this video which gives a better example of tying the bracelet.

As far as beads are concerned, it really depends on the size of wrist. If you can get the wrist measurement, then you can work out how many beads you need. My wrist measures 16.5cm if that helps.
Great idea.
Thank you so much Niheala.
Thanks for sharing this technique - I'll give it a try
Thank you Danielle. Here's another one that you might enjoy. th-cam.com/video/aal1irIdprk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=yuiwQx9M2PQzTRWl

Beautiful thank you, I'm new at this. Do you suggest the stringing elastic or the plastic?
Hi Patti, thank you for your question. I would definitely use stringing elastic for this project but remember to give it a good tug first to stretch it before stringing your beads.
Thanks for sharing
You're very welcome. Thank you Hattie.
Great tutorial thank you
You're very welcome. Thank you.

Thank you so much Elise. Look out for another stretch bracelet coming up soon.

What type of bead caps are these? I have trouble making them fit the beads.
Great question, Shelley. Thank you. I am using an 8mm x 5mm bead cap. You can find them here: www.affordablejewellerysupplies.co.nz/products/tibetan-style-star-bead-caps-8mm-x-5mm
I find that if you use a bead cap with a wider spread the same size as the beads it works best.
Hi sweetheart could I ask something ,I’m making jewellery and if it’s not sold for a while it keeps going off colour and is supposed to be 925
Hi, this is an interesting question. Thanks.
thanks for sharing
You're very welcome. Thank you.
Could you please show me how stretch bracelets for little girls
I just the way you make your bracelet thank you
If you wanted to make stretch bracelet for a child, you would just add less beads. You might find this one useful. th-cam.com/video/74NRwGQVkzE/w-d-xo.html

Can you please tell the size of the elastic? .50mm or .06mm etc? Thank you.
I almost exclusively use 0.6mm elastic for my stretch bracelets. www.affordablejewellerysupplies.co.nz/products/elastic-wire-0-6mm-1mm?variant=43360372818165
Hii what needle do you use ?
In this video I think I used a collapsible eye needle but I would usually use a Big Eye Needle. You might find this video useful. It talks all about the stretch knot and what supplies to use. th-cam.com/video/74NRwGQVkzE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=B0dxLZm7lQYzud_K
Seen this technique before elsewhere
Thank you Bead Spider. It's fairly common. I've perfected it a bit more since then and have recently shared my ultimate knot video, if you would like to check that out. th-cam.com/video/74NRwGQVkzE/w-d-xo.html
How do you keep the Tibetan metal beads from discoloring ?
Thanks Rodolfo. There are lots of answers to this question. I actually answered it on my members only live yesterday. Keep it dry (watch the humidity in the room) cover it in non-pvc based plastic would be my best suggestions. You can also buy anti-tarnish tissue paper or strips to put in with your jewellery.
Hi Amin again I fined elastic seams to almost go rotten after A while why is that?
Thank you Amin. That's exactly why I used two strands, it seems to stop the wear and tear. I have been using this technique for ages and have never had one fail but I do use all sorts of different elastic too.
Lindíssimos 😍😍👏👏👏👏👏
Obrigado. I hope that's right - thank you so much.
Not glue ?? Great technique to finished
a bracelet 😊. I don’t like glue on my jewelry.
Thanks!
Hi, this is an old tutorial and I have changed my technique. You might want to watch this video about how to tie the knot without glue. th-cam.com/video/74NRwGQVkzE/w-d-xo.html. Thanks.

I always use a surgeons knot to secure my elastic bracelets.
Thank you Linda. I have since done another video on the knot. I have tried the surgeons knot in the past but found that this method works better. I have had thre surgeons knot fail. Here's a link to the video if you're interested: th-cam.com/video/74NRwGQVkzE/w-d-xo.html

Hi, great video !!! Could you please tell me what is the average bracelet length for and women wrist 7.5 or 7 1/2 to sell one size fits average
I agree I have just started beading so am always watching videos. This is not great in that clear thread against white background. Cant see it.
Thank you for your feedback. This is a very old video and I learned my lesson about it. You might want to watch this one which shows you exactly how to tie the correct knot. th-cam.com/video/74NRwGQVkzE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=30TYqBlgQib-Vigg
Cool
Thank you.
It still falls off if one of the threads break.
You need 2 completely separate threads with separate knots of you want safety.
If one breaks the other still has to remain intact so you notice one thread is loose and you can start rethread it without losing beads.
You are correct. This is a very old tutorial. You might want to watch this one. th-cam.com/video/aal1irIdprk/w-d-xo.htmlsi=DYoE07godwp5he-0
I am so lost trying to knot the bracelet at the end. Please help
Hi Sarah, thank you for getting in touch. You might want to watch this week's video. I hope that it shows it better. Also, keep an eye out for videos in the New Year as I'm planning on doing one specifically about the knot.

Beautiful bracelet but I wish your background was black so your stretch cord could be seen easier.
Thank you so much, Pam. Yes, I realised after I made this one that you couldn't really see. You might want to watch this one which sets out exactly how I tie the knot. th-cam.com/video/74NRwGQVkzE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=FtbQkEjWPFw9aQtX
@@The_Stylish_Maker thank you for the video suggestion. I'm very new to this so I'm still learning.

Hi my name is Amin from Cape Town South Africa, when you show us something using your hand we can’t see it, why don’t you use a white background please thanks
Hi Amin, thank you so much for watching and for your feedback. You might want to watch this video I did just before Christmas. th-cam.com/video/PY4s21Ud6WU/w-d-xo.html. It better shows the process and I'm using black thread. Also, I'm about to do a close up video on how to tie that knot, so you'll be able to see exactly what I'm doing. Stay tuned!
Didn't see a thing u did!
Hi Jenni, thank you for your feedback. You might want to watch this video where I concentrate on how I tie that knot. th-cam.com/video/74NRwGQVkzE/w-d-xo.html

Hello and welcome Natali.
Too confusing
I'm so sorry you feel that way Blu. Can you please tell me what was confusing about it? I am always trying to improve. Thank you.
use either black thread or a black board ... what you're doing is not that clear. But thanks anyway
Thank you for your feedback. I received this same feedback from others so the next stretch bracelet I made, I used bright pink elastic. You can see that here if you would like to see how I tied the knot.
th-cam.com/video/aal1irIdprk/w-d-xo.html
We can't see anything because you using a white background......a clear cord and a light pink beads..... don't show. Poor video presentation
Hi, thank you for your feedback, and I agree. This is quite an old video and I learned from my mistakes. You might want to check out this video where I show how to make the knot for my stretch bracelets. In all my current stretch bracelet videos I use either bright pink or black on a white background so it's easier to see. th-cam.com/video/74NRwGQVkzE/w-d-xo.html
