My first "real" bike was a 75 KD 125 that I bought in 76 as a leftover. That exhaust sound really put a smile on my face!
My first bike was a 1974 KS 125. same exact bike but with lights. Lots of fun.
Gorgeous vintage 2 stroke dirtbike. Love the color, and the exhaust note. Very healthy.
A Beauty!! That look reminds me of my first bike when I was a kid ‘78 XR 75 loved that thing
They should change the name of this place from New England Motorcycle Museum, to MOTORCYCLE HEAVEN
Sweet ride.
Nice little Kawasaki! fun play bike or teach a young kid bike.

Wow, thanks!
Thanks for bringing back the memories of the good ole days where we played outside. 50 cents for a gallon of gas. But times were hard back then. You had to go get it. Great bike.
Thats sweet! Id still change the tires and tubes and ride it a bit date code or not

This thing is sweet
I thought the orange models were later 78 or 79. The 76s were silver tank with black fenders . Not saying it's not a 76 but the new tank is a later model
I hade the kx 100 got it new put 100s of hours on till it just imploded sold it at a yard sale for 100 and thay rebuild it was my first bike and great time on it
I had a brand new 74 KS 125 ! Beat the snott out of it !
love your channel Kaptain !! Keep em comming!!
Great video😁👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice. Vid. Brother.
Appreciate it
I have a 77 kd125 that I still ride on the original tires lol
I had a used Kawasaki MC1-M 90 for my first bike and for Christmas 1979 I was going to get a KD 125 so me and my dad went to the dealer to check the bike out , well parked right next to it was KX80 and it was the first year for that bike even though the 80 was $749 compared to $729 for the 125 I ended up getting the KX....I always wondered what the KD would of been like
The KD had smoother power delivery and/or more usable power and torque at lower rpm. It didn't have the abrupt and strong powerband like the little demon KX. The KX is a motorcross/racing bike, whereas the KD is more for woods, trails...dirtroads. (enduro) I would say the little KX provides more adrenaline rush and the addictive screaming powerband. The KD is tamer, but also runs strong. I would say the KD is sort of in between the more street/trail KE series and the motocross KX.
....I would guess that the smaller KX80 might be a little quicker...but the KD125 would catch it and pass it...eventually... 😉
Eric
Note, I've never ridden a KX80, but spent alot of time on both the KD125 and YZ80 back in the day.
Eric
Awesome 👍

But YAMAHA!!! RULES!!!
Back in the late 70's when I was in my late teens we used to buy these bikes, ride them for a while, then sell them and get something different. A 76, 75 or 77. They were considered used bikes. Dime a dozen look in the paper, you can get one in near mint condition for about $400. I had a 71 Honda CT70 mint in 1979 I got for $100, Yamaha 125's and a 175. 250's. Had about 6 different bikes back then. Never paid more than $400 for one.
Now look what they are worth.
