Thanks, Dennis and all... ( my name is *Dennis , also,): especially the 71 Jeepster Hurst., NEW to me! Interestingly, We bought a ( our first **new CAR)new 70:Dodge Coronet 500 new ( some $3100 total) at DODGE/**AMC Dealer adjacent to Pharmacy where I worked: passing on a high optioned,AMC **MACHINE (?), and Challenger **RT/ SE / Magnum /4SPD( extra heavily optioned ).......I have never seen the 71Jeepster HURST, may have been tempted on That **JEEP 71! as we loved Jeeps,,handling on until second Year of **GRANDCHEROKEE before buying one. Also, we did order a 77 TRANS AM SE/ *HURST *HATCHES , in OCT 76**, and these went thru HURST PRODUCTS ALSO, and finally come to my Dealer I. March 1977!! And, which got a bunch of Family, travel & SHOW USE......( BANDIT Model,etc)....... fun times..

Dennis you really need to come to Cynthiana Kentucky for the annual Rod Run. 2019 should be a great one. 2018's Run didnt have favorable weather. So we are due for a great event in 2019. Come check it out.

Dennis asked what you called the type of car that the El Camino is so hear goes. The El Camino is officially classified as Utility Coup (or Ute in Australia). This category refers to passenger cars with a passenger compartment In front that looks like that of a standard passenger car (as apposed to a pickup truck cab) and which includes a smaller cargo area in the back then what’s typical for a pickup truck. Note that some Australian Utes look more like traditional pickup trucks but with smaller then average cargo ares. The same can be said of some classic American utility coupes which you could easily mistake for a small pickup truck. The distinction in some case between a pickup truck and utility coup/Ute seems somewhat arbitrary IMO.
For me I just called them pickup cars. LoL 😁

The Jeepster Commando is a Kaiser Jeep, not an AMC...AMC didn't acquire the Jeep brand from Kaiser til 1973....
Kaiser design yes, but produced by AMC. AMC bought Jeep in February 1970 and right away slapped AMC badges on the back tailgates of Jeeps. My 71 hurst Jeepster and my 1970 Jeepster both came with an AMC badge so technically it's an AMC.
