Summer visitor LMS Stanier 5XP Jubilee 45596 Bahamas joined the Peak Rail current home fleet of W.G. Bagnall 2842 Kent Electric Power Co., Hudswell Clarke 750 Waleswood and Hudswell Clarke S102 Cathryn for a two day steam gala featuring an intensive timetable of passenger and rideable demonstration freight trains, along the former Midland Railway route from Matlock to Rowsley South (on the former Buxton) in the Derbyshire Dales.
Bahamas at the end of the each day ran a non-stop Matlock to Rowsley service remembering the express passenger train 'The Palatine', a former named train over the route introduced by the LMS in 1938 as the 10am (post war 2:25pm from Manchester Central to London St Pancras, with a 4:30pm (post war 7:55am) off St Pancras to Manchester Central. The limited stop service saw a stop in Matlock (alongside Chinley, Millers Dale, Derby and Leicester). The service was withdrawn in 1964.
