From what I can remember the rules are if you try to dispose the ball when getting tackled and you don't do it properly it's a tackle even if you just received the ball, but in saying that if you receive the ball and get tackled right after it's not a tackle. I agree that Umpires have gotten this wrong so many times each season and it seems targeted as if there is rigging going on. As a Dockers supporter last year was not to bad compared to other years but there were still instances of this happening. One team to keep your eye on is Collingwood as it seems like they are the team that gets away scotch free with the umpires, yes Collingwood is still a skilled group of players but having a umpire backing you up makes things worse for other teams.
I've been to plenty of games where there were two rule books or interpretations in play. Pretty shitty, especially if your team is coping all the bullshit decisions.
