Found your channel yesterday and binge-watched your reactions to S x 1 to refresh my memory before starting on S x 2 - thank you, not many people reacting to this intriguing show .
The intro with the other silo was haunting. It's scary how quickly misinformation can turn societies, and the consequences it can bring - especially in such fragile scenarios like this. Great parallel to our current times. 4:17 Considering that people still die due to the bad tape not sealing the suits properly... And since Juliette survived for quite a while we can rule out the whole poisoned air tank theory. Maybe the poisoned air lock is still plausible but I think it is unlikely, given that we have direct evidence of a whole silo perishing because of the air outside. 7:08 It's more likely that her suit filled up with carbon dioxide, unless it comes with a little scrubber, but that seems unnecessary complex for something that's meant to fail anyway. The whole moment is scary though. You're obviously on a clock here with the suit, then you don't know whether the air inside the other silo is breathable, nor do you know if your suit is contaminated with something dangerous. 7:49 Decontamination. They don't know what exactly kills them. If it was radiation, the particles from the outside on her suit could be irradiating her. That's why radiation decontamination is done through showers. You wash off all the radioactive shit before getting out of your protective gear.
So nice to see you finally post your reaction! I really liked this episode - I'm a sucker for any story that involves exploring deserted ruins and uncovering mysteries. I have to agree with you about Juliette's bridge-crossing methods. I think someone on Reddit suggested she put the rope in the middle so she could more easily swing back to the other side rather than climb back up. But what bothered me the most though was her using plastic to bind the metal pieces of her makeshift bridge together - I mean wtf!? You also made a good point about the guy behind the door. It seems he already knew she was in the Silo, since he said he played the music to get her attention and wasn't surprised to see her. But then he threatens to kill her because she tried to open the door? What's the reasoning there? Why did he want to get her attention? Was she supposed to knock first so they could have a chat? It doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me. And how did he know she was there? Are some of the camera sensors still working? Is there some alternative access outside, which allowed him maybe to see her from above and cut the rope? Anyway, looking forward to the next episode where hopefully we get to see the fallout of Juliette's departure, and what's behind the door Bernard opened.
Regarding dropping down directly. Not sure there is anything directly above the other side, You can see above it as they defend in opening sequence. I don't recall but perhaps the bridge was perpendicular to or at a crossing diagonal to where she wanted to go which would limit her to using the center of the bridge. I'd need to go back and check.
Ok went back and check and it appears that it is directly above at the same position, so there goes that theory. It's hard to tell at first but when she falls there a shot looking up where you can see both the broken bridge and hers so who knows what she was doing.
Doesn't like water? More likely no one from a Silo would know how to swim? Where would they swim? As to power. Remember there's a backup generator that can maintain minimal life support which probably can be spread more if there's only 1 person left alive. We weren't told the nature of the backup generator nor it's location so presumably it doesn't require as much to keep going.
Considering most of this episode was basically just her trying to get across that gap and there being very little dialogue, it stressed me out so much! I was at the edge of my seat the entire time!
She I think wasn’t thinking clearly because of residual air toxins and oxygen deprivation, i took that look being a “omg why did I cut the rope that was dumb of me”

I'm hyped to see this. I just checked your channel earlier today to see if you were going to cover season 2!
Nice to see someone react to this great series!

Thank you, Derek! 🪫
Great show and very underrated. Noone is reacting on it. Finally can watch your content 👍

Book reader here... The power question should be answered eventually
