The musical community definitely respects the Shrek musical for all of its many historical references as well as stylistic references to musical culture One of the best comedies out there as far as musical review shows go this is one of those top tier shows references all over the place thank you to DreamWorks for making such a great musical and caring so much about their product

It's a really good musical. After the changes made for the National Tour the musical was a success in London. I'm from Argentina and in Buenos Aires was a success too.
It's awful, and the reason why is that it tries to bend what Shrek is into some philosophical thing. Shrek is a mainstay because it's just fun. We don't need all this stuff that makes it something it is not, if the original film was... it would not be successful, and not made into another bastardization play... Right off the bat two minutes in Shrek's parents are acting like they care and setting up this awful and cheesy dramatization... when in actually Shrek states that his parents tried to eat him, and that was funny, it was on brand for ogres... this is not...

The broadway rendition of "Who I'd Be" kicks the shit out of the studio recording. There's something in the live performance that carries far emotion and power. I come back to this just to listen to it. It's by far the definitive version for this hero's anthem.

My elementary school actually brought us to see it live on Broadway when it was first came out, we even got to learn to dance with some of the actual original cast and performers in the studio. I don't care if there were any other AP willits students in this comments. None of you were my friends. I had a very terrible time developing social skills. But that's mostly because of how fucked up my home life was. And I don't really hold anybody from those days accountable. It was justified out casting. But those teachers, Ms. Morgan, Miss Kelly, the speech teacher Mrs. Brown, if you're out there on internet land, You were all right to call social services, I wish they actually did something. Thank you for being a safe space I had growing up. Miss Shebina, you were basically my only real mother figure, i remember wishing you would adopt me.

Damn Donkey's actor is C U N T Y. I absolutely adore him and the way he speaks and moves around, really sticks to the og character. I also love the hole scene with the magic mirror and the little "this is your wife" bit, the way the guards dance is so funny!
We had to watch this in my Theater appreciation class in College, I had watched the movies ofcourse so at first I had no intentions of actually sitting and watching this, I got a few minutes in and was Hooked! Easily one of my Favorite Musicals!!!!
I just watched this for the first time and this was magnificent. It was so much fun to watch. Everyone involved, from the actors, ensemble, stage crew, lighting, etc deserves the highest accolades!!! I hope this comes out on DVD if it is not yet. Wonderful production!!!
