@@TheHales Bills and Bengals have been to the AFC championship game for the last few years. And the Ravens have won two superbowls in this century. That's the difference.
We just witnessed the difference between not having played the game and only analyzing it; versus having played & coached the game and then becoming an analyst. After Coach Edwards spoke and set the record straight, Stephen A said, it "was time to go". That's because Stephen A knew he stuck his foot in his mouth on the topic. It might seem Stephen A's point was right from a certain perspective....and I like his perspective a lot sometimes. But the players and coaches know the deal. That's why I love it when analysts like Key, Herm and Shay are involved in the mix. They can give the boots-on-the-ground perspective and let us see the game through the eyes on the people in the trenches.
Stephen A didn’t know what he was talking about; lol he didn’t know Mike McCarthy started out calling plays, so he started yelling and changing the subject
It’s funny that Stephen A. Smith talking about how McCarthy is a SB winning coach but that was a long time ago. Yet he shows Sean Payton all the love in the world and calls him a great coach when Sean has only one SB win and that came a years before McCarthy won his. Smdh
In my perspective, I would rather hear a former NFL player/coach analysis or opinion then someone who doesn’t. It’s different when someone is on the field an actually plays the game than someone who just talks about it.
No matter who calls the plays prescott's lack of execution will always be the reason that cowboys fall short unless defense can generate at least 3 extra possessions for him in every game ..
Stephen A is a casual. I guess he doesn’t know how Ted Thompson had McCarthys hands tied as he refused to bring in free agent talent. Funny how things got better once he was no longer gm.

Why would Romo leave a job that is less demanding and pays more?? It's not a matter of Jerry thinking about it. It's a matter of Romo having a good thing going lol
Actually, it was in 2015 when Mike didn't call the plays and let Tom Clements call the plays, but when that wasn't working, he took over play calling. In the last 2 years of McCarthy in Green Bay, he was still calling plays, but the offense was so bland and predictable that they weren't winning enough games and got fired after they lost to a 3 win Arizona team at home. One thing about Mike is that he always abandoned the run game and had Aaron throw it a lot. Wouldn't be surprised if that happens again
Kellan Moore isn't the one throwing int or missing wide open receivers. Heck it was his plays that allowed the receivers to be that wide open. He was a scapegoat
I hope people understand the circumstances those three coaches went to. And the debate can be compromised about those three coaches. Tony Dungy went from Tampa to Indy and Peyton Manning who from my understanding called his on plays. Andy Reid went from Philadelphia to Kansas City Patrick Mahomes. Mike McCarthy went from Green Bay to Dallas, switching from Aaron Rodgers to Dak Prescott. Your quarterback has a big effect on the plays you call
The best part about this is they're going to lose next year and we get to watch it all over again. Fly Eagles fly The Dallas cowboys will not win a championship until Jerry Jones is gone.
The good thing about McCarthy working directly with Dak is if he needs to be told to run more, pass less? Dak cant shrug him off. And if Dak having a bad game, INTs, mental break downs or The-Yips? Mcarthy has the authority to bench him (for just 1 game) to atleast save a game. Cooper Rush is not as talented, but not a mental case either. And I do think he would bench the QB, yes because his job is on the line this next season. He has nothing to loose, yet everything. May as well go down doing it his way.
McCarthy has two 12 win seasons back to back and has won a playoff game. He's a step up from Garrett. He has his issues which is why it's going to be a prove-it season for him. And you can't get rid of Dak this year. They are making the best of the situation.
McCarthy got that job by sucking up to Jerry, the players will never respect him because of Jerry Jones, when Jimmy Johnson was there the players fear Him, Dallas Cowboy players don't fear Mike McCarthy, because the players will run to Jerry Jones. I am an Eagles fan and I think it's great that the McCarthy is going to be calling to plays next year
I know nobody likes gruden but to be fair the Tampa Bay buccaneers offense that year had the best statistical season of that stretch of core and the change was good I don't think the colts would have made it to the super bowl with anybody other than Tony Dungy we didn't need a rah-rah holler and scream head coach because our quarterback was already fulfilling that role 🤷♂️💯
He's a superbowl winning coach. The disrespect from this program is uncalled for, at the very least. The QB Is below the standard needed to win at this level. Until that is rectified the Cowboys will continue to flounder. The reason being in the reg season the level of competition is overcome by the talent Jerry Jones continues to put on the field. But when the playoffs start the weakest point of the team gets exposed and it's been glaring for sometime. Even with the hacks on these programs telling the audience it's everything but the reality of the situation. And the reality is the QB play has been sub-par for a number of years. Whether these programs want to admit it or not, until the QB position is addressed through draft or trade the coaching staff will be playing from behind. McCarthy is a football coach and he knows how and what it takes to win at this level. Daks a good guy, but that hasn't translated into playoff success. And I'm not sure it ever can.
if I had things my way, I would make it a requirement for people to wear Cowboys jerseys, gear, etc. if they're going to live in this great state of Texas. I don't want to see wearing jerseys of other teams, or displaying other team logos, especially the 49ers, Steelers, Patriots, & Packers, that really pisses me off!
