- Taking viewers to the new setting of Tajikistan, two CH 53E Super Stallion helicopters carrying US Marines swoop along the Vakhsh River, showing the beautiful and epic landscapes which will become bloody battlegrounds in a deadly flashpoint. As one Marine films the unfolding action on his digital video camera, hostiles attack the helicopters, forcing evasive action and return fire from the rear gunners.
Inside the transports, the full fireteam -- Grenadier, Scout, Rifleman and Automatic Rifleman -- prepare for combat. Wearing battle-worn kit with field modifications, the Marines go through their own personal routine -- checking weapons are locked and loaded, praying with Rosary beads or listening to music on their MP3 player. Every Marine gets ready for war their own way. The video concludes as the fireteam are inserted into the combat zone. For the Marines, this flashpoint is about to turn hot.

PLEASE BRING OPERATION FLASHPOINT BACK. I LOVE THE RIVER RIVER AND THE DRAGON RISING. I can't believe the Codies gave up on it. I ended up looking for posters and collectible items with logos of Red River all over the internet to, at least, preserve the legacy of my favorite game.
Its possible to play this game online on PC? If its possible i want to play with you guys :]

Can't wait, this will hopefully be awesome. Even though Dragon Rising's single player wasn't all that great it's mulitplayer was still pretty fun.

But btw in this vid, I think these guys are Reconnaissance Marines. You can tell since Reconnaissance Marines and MARSOC are the "only" Marines that wear MICH 2000s and MICH 2002s.
@DevinChief 1. The last use of Bayonets in large numbers was actually by the British during the Iraq War.
2. Bayonets are one of the deadliest weapons ever created. Instilling fear in the enemy and fervor among the attacking force.
3. Every other Army gives its soldiers Bayonet Training.
4. If things ever go really bad (i.e. EMP or Nuclear Strikes). Its better to know how to skewer your enemy than be stuck with a bunch of useless tech.

I have a question in 2023 you can still play it on playstation 3 right? Because it won't let me do it on 3 and 4
@@josiahlee7999 I play it only on PC. The only console I have is my precious SNES🤩 that I played as a teen (and still works and looks like new). However, I've read in comments that Red River doesn't work on PS consoles anymore. Not sure if it's true.
On PCs it works only if you:
1 have windows 10 (doesn't work on Win 11)
2 have a steam version of the game with region-free key ( I use it)
3 switch your location Steam to any place in the USA

As an avid Hip Hop head since I was 12, I have gotta say that Cash's "When the Man Comes Around" is seriously one of the best songs I've ever heard.
Looking forward to the game, I was a big fan of the original but the sequel didn't do it for me, too many bugs.

Game is still Alpha stage, Game Footage is hard to find. There are a few ingame screenshots you can find on the offical RR forums though.
@360Nomad they removed the bayonet assault course because the last time they're was a bayonet assault was in 1951 during the korean war.
people who keep commenting on this video and complaining that its unrealistic: shut the hell up, its cinematic and meant to make people anticipate the game.
Soon for OFP:DR, there will be a dedicated server tool(sortof). It's still in development but it's close to launch. For those who are interested can checkout the [OGU] forums sometimes.

@Leopardipzg two groups of four men? well yes, they will, and do send just 8 men. a "shock squad" a small squad deployable anywhere. small, fast, and well trained. remember, this game isnt about a war, its about a flash conflict. which are small scale hostilities that will lead to war if not supressed.
360nomad of course I not the Army combat uniform, they use it for urban ops. That's why they are "finally" using multi-cam.

Wow. Coolest preview ever. It's about time the public saw more of the 53s. Chinook and Phrog weaksauce is all you ever see. Big Iron is where it's at!
+10 points for Johny Cash music. This cut scene makes it look cinematic which in my opinion OF DR was the least cinematic war game I have ever played, but I did like the realism. Now codemasters knows what they gotta fix so I'm confident in this new one. :)

lol that song reminds me of Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, in the scene in which the Hostage Rescue Squad tries to take down Cromartie but gets slaughtered.

True though but already now that the SCAR won the competition, I guess it's is already in use by the Rangers and the Army SF and obviously Delta.

@jglynnlc Guns are 400 years old too. Besides, if you run out of bullets, your gun's useless (especially the new ones that have plastic stocks). But you can reuse a bayonet over and over again.

Sorry codemasters.. ArmA, from the REAL operation flashpoint creators has taken my heart. This will be just another casual shooter with an illusion of tactics and realism for consoles.
@nuttex If you mean in terms of building a community base, I agree. It's much more of an Apples to Apples comparison.
I understand the development cycle and how its very much like throwing a dart at a board , in the dark, while fanboys are screaming at you. And the Dart doesn't hit for 18 months after you throw it.....

And dont forget The 42 comando royal marines and 1 para they seem to forget the british have a very combat presence in that area of the world it would be awsome if they added british weoponry and regiments into it.

@WoRReLbier Yeah, OGU is fantastic on DR. They're keeping the online alive as templar keeps the offline alive.
But, Online isnt where everyone plays you know. Singleplayer and CoOp is a big attraction as well. Unfortuantly, its only 4 player coop. So you don't even get decent games...

@trulynot Laggy servers have nothing to do with Game Style. His question was "What was fun" I was giving an example of actually being to play...
They are not trying to be a hardcore sim but be something more than a COD shooter (At least that was what they were saying in OPF:DR, it may have changed) I applaud it. However, they need to implement a solid game. They pulled out all support after a few months. If play lists are any indication of a games "Fun" factor, OPF:DR is ....

There was a SCAR in both variants in OFP DR but yeah I would want to see one even though the Corps uses it like 1%-13% of the time.

@LilATL94 Oh yeah, please explain why Multicam wasn't adopted in the first. And please explain why all the great "innovations" that the Army has are still only used by Special Forces, which comprise 1% of a force of over 1 million.
@Helmer1134 I dont think CM will mind if you discuss your ideas of what would make DR RR fun and yet still differentiate it from COD and ARMA2 - It may be that it should align itself closer to COD if it wants a broader market share -especially since releasing to console and without editor.

I hope they don't have live action cinematics. None of those guys look the part. The only guy that looks the part is at 0:52. He's the only one that looks like he's done this a million times. It's like the developers are doing the acting or something.

Please get the acog right codemasters. Ta31 RCO. The front sight of the m16 and the m4 do not get in the way of the scope view. 4x zoom. Also fix the AI. Other than that looks good! MARINES USE TA31 RCO AGOCS. PLEASE GET THE ACOG CORRECT!! 4x ZOOM. Other than that looks great!
@nuttex I think I was dissapointed because it appeared that OPF:DR was trying to hit that spot between COD and ARMA2. Not a Simulator, but not a RnG arcader. I dont really need another Sim... I have ARMA2 (W/ ACE mod and ACRE its great!) , and I dont want another RnG, I have COD.
So I understand them wanting to fill their own niche the "Its not about military simulation, but fun with friends" I'm really ok with that... but they seem to have skimped out on the fun part.
