I had NO idea he was writing for Moana! I mean jeez, I was excited for it before but... holy cow I CANNOT wait for November! I only discovered Hamilton in September, but I fell in love with it almost instantly and as a acting student all I could think was "I wish I wasn't white so I had a hope in Hell of being in that show someday..." THAT is impressive writing, I think, and Lin is an absolute genius with his words.
"West Side Story is a total masterpiece" ... that it is, and I greatly appreciate him saying that. It's so good to realize the trails that were blazed before you. When I first listened to this show's score, I felt there were a number of things in common between the two. Thank you so much, Lin, for taking the time to create another "total masterpiece" which is Hamilton. We are all in your debt because we love it so much.
