I started to watch your videos from last year, I love and enjoy these kind of videos, starting seeds, thank you for these information you shared with us
You will love the Jupiters Beard, it is so gorgeous and easy in the garden. I also have the Marvelette blue that I started from seed and the white calamintha and it is such a bee magnet. I need to dig mine and divide it this season. We are having such a warm winter so far that I am getting out and getting things like that done when we normally are buried in snow by now. I have found I don't need to use seed starting mix either, I ran an experiment a couple years back and found the potting soil did just fine.
I started calamintha Nepita this past spring for my tea garden.. and it did amazing. I am so hoping it comes back and I’m definitely starting more this year!
Merry Christmas! My Sahara rudbeckia have survived for the last 2 years for me, even with temps dipping down to zero last winter. I had great luck wintersowing those seeds, and any seed that requires cold and moisture to germinate.
I started white calamintha last year from seed and had great germination! They grew very fast and i had to pinch them back multiple times before i could plant them out(zone 5) . They did fantastic.
🌱 I think I’m going to try the winter sowing method for my rudbeckia since I didn’t get a chance to do the cold stratification. I think I’m going to look into the calamintha nepeta as well. Thanks for taking the time to make these videos during the holidays. I hope you have a very Merry Christmas. 🎄❤
I planted rudbeckia from seed on Dec. 8th in those green trays from Amazon and put under a grow light and it germinated within a week! I love it! Oops it is echinacea I planted!
I’m so excited my Rudbekia just sprouted! Question, do I have to remove them from the heat mat or can they stay there. I have a very small grow light situation and I have now her to move them. My other seed trays haven’t sprouted yet.
I looked up Jupiter’s beard on “duck assist” it says it needs light to germinate, so pressed into soil but not covered. I’m going to start my rudebekia today, I think I have Sahara mix and cherry brandy, the cherry brandy looks nice in photos, I hope it’s pretty!
Rapid blinking usually indicates some level of stress or anxiety. Trying to produce a quality video all by yourself could be a contributing factor. I admire your efforts and your dedication and on top of that I think you’re very successful with your content. Cheers! 🥂
It’s the first time I’ve noticed the blinking and now I can’t unsee it when I’m editing 😬 Your comment makes me feel better … recording the videos can be difficult.

Glad you like them!
Instead of paper towels, use coffee filters for your seeds. I found they are much easier to get your seeds off of.😊
That’s a great tip! I’ll have to try that.

Snow here. Florida son-in-law and Alabama granddaughter got to build a snowman twice. Grew Bells of Ireland last year. ☃️☃️☃️
Yay for snow!

Blinking could just be the dry air. Love the detailed videos. I am starting my vinca and gazania early. It took a long time to germinate last year.

I take them off of the heat may once they have sprouted but it really depends on the ambient temperature of your grow room.
@ it’s probably right Ryder 70 but next to a window. Will it hurt to leave them on? Only because I have nowhere to put them.

Good to know! Only about half of my jupiters beard have germinated at this point so I guess it needed more light.
Instead of using a wet paper towel in the fridge i have seen some growers use coffee filters. They claim the seeds don't stick as bad.
I haven't tried that before, I'll have to give it a try!

I tried vermiculite and nothing grew!
Oh know! Do you have better luck with no vermiculite?
