I'll never forget that night, my brother called me one day with tickets when I was living tip of far northern Qld... 3days later, Suncorp Stadium, beautiful game of rugby league at it's highest quality, match winner 30meters right before my eyes..... QUEENSLANDER
@@phosysengthong6250 When someone shouts Queenslander- it means you are a supporter of that team or Someone is going to start a fight with the other team, be ready to fight...
Coming from a NSW fan the streak was some of my favourite memories of origin. The games were so intense, series were decided by hardly any points and there seemed to be this brutal desperation brought out in both teams. Even though we lost for so many years they were such high quality games from beginning to end, besides the blowout scorelines. I used to look forward to origin more than anything back then, maybe I've just gotten older and life has changed, but even now that we're winning I don't find myself as excited for the next origin series like I used to during this time
As a Queensland can say the same. Was enjoyable and always a contest. Never missed a game during those 8 years. Sadly lost a bit of the love over the last few years. Great years when the steak was in tact.
It was so pleasuring to see Pearce miss the field goal by about just as much as Gallen ran up towards the wide side rather than the centre of the field on the tackle before it, classic.
@@ethanhb3761 They won with Cooper, they don't win without him. Cooper Cronk is the most underrated player of the last 10 years and that is saying something because he is so highly rated.
I was living on the tip of Australia, my brother rang me saying he had 2 tickets, 2 days later I was on a plane... To watch Cronk 30 meters in front of me nail that beautiful field goal... That game was rugby league art, Beautiful !!!
The games during “the streak” were noticeably more spiteful than what we currently have. Not saying the current games aren’t fast and physical but you don’t get the feeling of widespread personal dislike between the players.
@@sanctuaryism they used to same the same about the game when gallen etc were playing 😂 and to be fair, it's probably true. Some of the 80s games were filthy
This was such a great night. 21st birthday. I invited 10 of my closest mates to my place. They took me too the pub where another 30 mates were waiting . Good times
I’m absolutely glad that we don’t have Mitchell Pearce as NSW Halfback now, well he WAS part of last year’s NSW Origin winning squad but QLD are now devoid of Slater, Smith, Cronk, Thurston and Inglis.

as an american its embarresing watching these players bleeding and getting stitched up going back in game american football players would b in an ambulance taken to hospital league is greatest game
Lombardo Antonio it’s just a normal rugby league game except the teams are made up of players from that state. the blue team is players born in New South Wales. The maroon team is made up of players born in Queensland which are states in Australia.

@MUFC Leave origin footy and go watch your 5'4 man crushes flop around a field
How
No one has made big game commentary as memorable and iconic as Ray Warren, miss that OG
Greg Inglis was such a beast in this game!!!
Welcome to Super League still can’t believe he’s coming to play in England
o
He was a traitor who was supposed to play for nsw
Abd a sell out... he should of played for NSW

Cooper Cronk nailing that field goal, my god. He's surely an immortal.

different generation playing now also. softer to say the least...

Francois Naufahu yeah the nrl is a bit soft now
Maybe because the players have gone smaller and faster

When there was no unnecessary penalties every 2 mins
I remember being at my university bar when this game was being shown. Cronk kicking that field goal broke the entire mood of the venue
talent all over the place
No rivalry on Earth matches this.
Dale Wilson wasn’t that nasty Australia smashed England through out the 90s and early 2000s
The "el classico" barca vs real madrid rivals that.
Josh Morris is sadly missed.
Wonderfully skillful player.
Back to Back wins in origin the mighty maroons of QLD keep the good teamwork up

Horrendous option from Gallen there on the last blues set, did absolutely nothing to help Pearce
@Clutch7 at 1:37:33 Farah actually put his hand on the touch line - the crowd saw it, but the touch judge turned a blind eye.
