Napoli stress on 1 touch, especially at the back, is refreshing and debilitating. I also heard somewhere, I ve given up looking for it, but a 'quote', you pass the size of the ball, so you take risk of squeezing passes through narrow gaps and trust your accuracy to move you forward and breaking the lines. I see Napoli probably being the most adventurous passers, more so than City or Barca in terms of build up play.
im not sure i agree that they do....the lb pushes into the same line as the cm's, altho the rb plays more withdrawn (asymmetric) to ensure they can fluctuate between a back 2 or back 3 in the first line based on how many players the opposition press with....the reason that the fbs do drop back into the same line as the cb's is to have numerical superiority vs that press.....other teams use cm's to achieve this, they use fbs...this allows the cms to play higher, to play between the oppositions lines and stay in the middle of the pitch for better connectivity to link the middle third to the final third (i hope that all makes sense)
Good video, would like to see one on Julian Naagelsman at Hoffenheim.

Why do Napoli build up with such a flat back four?
