New Mexico looks pretty neat, if the winds would subside would be even better. Maggie sure had some fun in the snow. Thanks for your hard work so we can tag along on a mini escape vacation every week. Nice video. 🙋🏼♀️🚗🇺🇸❤️🐕
When you get to Arizona, Saguaro National Park is place to see. Those saguaros are huge and lots of trails. Stop by and check out the aerospace museum and the aircraft boneyard in Tucson. Happy travels and be safe.
We did go to the Saguaro NP, which will be in an upcoming video. We drove by the boneyard but did not check out the aerospace museum, I guess we’ll have to go back. Thanks for the suggestions.
I’m thinking that’s not a place to go with contact lenses. :) What a cool place to see - Maggie looked like she was having lots of fun too. Safe travels & stay well!
Thanks we live in SENM and have always missed Aguirre Springs; actually last week we drove right past it on our way back from the Gila Cliff Dwellings where we hiked the Little Bear Canyon trail back into the designated Wilderness for some tent camping on the river. Your videos have inspired us to start getting out more again; we've even ordered a Jeep Unlimited Willys Sport which will allow us to sleep in it in a pinch to extend a day trip into an "adventure" at the drop of a hat. The Gila is three hours on winding roads north of Silver City so it would take real additional time if you need to get to Tucson but very cool.
Sounds like you have things figured out. I guess we will have to put Gilda on our list for next time, it sounds like a great place to explore. Thanks for the suggestion.
Gosh! we were there last week it was so windy we came from Carlsbad going Santa Fe we lost our awning that cover our slide.. so scary and we have 30ft class C motorhome we felt it more but we had blast in New Mexico and great experience. Safe travel!.
my first time driving my Travato 22GL was going home from picking the van up in Iowa.. heading to Salt Lake City for the OHV 3in Lift and suspension upgrade on the home. on day 3 going from western Nebraska to Rawlings WY on I-80 wind was 30-40 mph sustained with 65-70 mph gusts -- it was scary intense and the pucker factor was max high
Love this video! Maggie loved the snow. You can’t tell the difference really of the snow and sand until you feel it. Maggie loved both. Lynn I can tell you loved it? How about you Owen did you like the white sand? I know I did. I would love to feel it with my feet like I do with beach sand. I wonder what it feels like that type of sand. It beautiful. Glad you decided to go to where it was less windy. It’s been windy here in Las Vegas lately. It was a cold wind last week but now it’s a warm wind. Thdnk you fir the video. I hope you have a great week and weekend and see you soon!
If ya'll don't follow One Advanture at a Time, check them out. You'll love the great reviews Dave and Carrie give of the dispersed camping locations they frequent. Lots of super future sites to visit.
Enjoyed watching this video as we were just there a couple months ago. What did you think of Cloudcroft. There is a fantastic woodfired pizza and brewery there called Cloudcroft Brewery. If you ever go back you have to check it out. The pizza there is definitely happy dance worthy...I know you don't do the touristy things but Pistachioland is worth checking out as well....
Always interesting and entertaining and entertaining. Thank you for making the time to make this video and taking me along with you three . As always BS & BK
A question: Maggie has a great seat in the middle. We have an RV and a dog (Libby) who always wants in our laps to see out. How did you get Maggie up ? Thanks in advance.
We have a cooler with a dog bed on it, we do have to level it. We also use the cooler to store extra drinks, that also keeps it from moving when she jumps up and down.
Maggie, snow, desert, sand and mountains……..that’s a lot to bundle into a day. Glad you were able to deal with the wind and still find time to laugh. Thank you for another lovely Sunday morning wake up. 👍👍
Quote is from Matt’s Off Road Recovery! Hey - how about you two go out to Utah and get stuck off road and call MOR so we can see you in one of their videos! LOL!
What was so funny is Maggie kept running into the same spot so she would almost get covered up, for some reason she liked it. It was fun to watch her. thanks for watching.
Poor Maggie gets high centered even with 4 paw drive… 😉 The desert Southwest is absolutely stunning and the sunrises and sets are God’s great masterpieces in the sky. In between are Kodachrome Blue sky’s and stars that, according to the Navajo, Coyote the Trickster spread to amaze us. Yes I love the Southwest! Thanks for another great ride with the White Sands-box kids!
Maggie didn’t care if she had high clearance or not… she kept running into the deep snow and we kept laughing at her. One of the great things about traveling is marveling over God’s masterpieces every where we go. Thanks for your comment.
From snow to sand, what a day. It sure did seem to be a long hike to the ocean. Wind and sand is always uncomfortable it was a good idea to keep moving. Happy tails and safe travels.
Matt's off road recovery. We often changed our plans out west because of the winds! Our little pooch loved playing in the sand. Took a while to get all of the sand out of the van though.
Beautiful episode. Good thing you have all you need with you; it looks like you are really far from everything in the midst of rugged nature. It looked a little lonely...glad I'm not a cowboy! I like tropical places best. Peace & Prayers.
We actually cut our Colorado trip a couple days short because of predicted winds through eastern Colorado and Kansas. You are right, it is a white knuckle experience in our Sprinter. Still getting used to it.
Love the video today, can you please share with me which video where you made the tortellini pasta dish w the chix broth and cream, I made it right after watching but forgot all the ingredients now because I didn't write it down, thanks in advance 😀 k
I think this is the one you're thinking of: OUR TINY REVEL AT JEKYLL ISLAND CAMPGROUND ?? Would something bigger be better? th-cam.com/video/FrOKZzGySnI/w-d-xo.html Hope it is delicious again.
Do van owners ever install safe-t-plus anti sway bars like class A motor homes for assistance in wind/truck passing drivability? Or in your opinion not really needed?

It seems like we encountered more wind on this trip and any other. Sorry you lost your awning, that must had been a big blast. Stay safe out there.

That’s a great idea… we would love to meet those guys. But I don’t want to get stuck🤣.
That wind was crazy! Bless Maggie, she was trying so hard. That snow was deep! Love y’all. Stay safe. Thanks for bringing us along. ❤️🙏🏻 Jane in SC

Will have to check our Robbie Layton. Thanks for the suggestion. It’s always a good week.
Matt's off road recovery. We often changed our plans out west because of the winds! Our little pooch loved playing in the sand. Took a while to get all of the sand out of the van though.
I feel your pain with the sand. It’s hard to keep the van clean with a dog.
Beautiful episode. Good thing you have all you need with you; it looks like you are really far from everything in the midst of rugged nature. It looked a little lonely...glad I'm not a cowboy! I like tropical places best. Peace & Prayers.
We love tropical places too but this was so different from anything we’ve ever experienced. I think that’s why we liked it so much.
We actually cut our Colorado trip a couple days short because of predicted winds through eastern Colorado and Kansas. You are right, it is a white knuckle experience in our Sprinter. Still getting used to it.

Slim Potatoehead?
No, but we love Slilm Potatohead. It is Matts off road recovery.
Well that was fun! How much sand ended up in the van? 😁
A lot of sand, but I brought my vacuum.
Do van owners ever install safe-t-plus anti sway bars like class A motor homes for assistance in wind/truck passing drivability? Or in your opinion not really needed?
Some folks upgrade the suspension to agile rip or van compass, which helps with sway and better overall ride.
I agree with leenestle, we have not done any upgrades yet but it is something we are considering.
