    I'm in the process of applying now. Your video here is useful and I like your thoughtful approach. I felt, watching you, that you might've doubled your payment ask, but having worked on one of the other platforms for a year, I think I understand your approach re: payment. I'm curious to know, if you don't mind, what you imagine the timeline, the process and the outcome might have been, if you had started from numbers twice what you describe? You would have started at $20 and ended at $30. While I'd much prefer a tutor who sounds like you do, than someone like me, a great-grandfather with a wavery geezer's voice, and a tendency to fall down the occasional memory hole. I have an MA, and might have standing in front of a room full of Korean university English majors on the happy day your parents welcomed you into the world, yet as I listened, I found it impossible to tap into any thought of performance-based superiority despite my experience. Can you suggest, or have a hunch about, what I might run into, if I ask for $30~40 to start, on Preply. I learned a lot from you here; enough to suspect a lot more awaits discovery. I don't want to ask you to break any Preply rules or agreements, but jdlarge has an email address, and Jack Large has a spot at Zuckerberg's joint. Any response from you would be welcome indeed.

    Hi Kemi, how are you doing? I've got two questions and I'll be so delighted to get a response from you. Love you!
    1- A year ago you made this video and fast forward to this year, would you still recommend Preply to aspiring ESL online teachers, I mean does being a teacher on Preply get worse or better as time passes on?
    2- I'm a new teacher on Preply and so far the journey has been great, I prepare my own lesson materials but sometimes it gets pretty overwhelming and I try to relax by using the materials provided within the classroom. I'd like to know how to specify on my profile that I use Preply approved materials. On your tutor profile, Kemi, I saw that it was specified that you use Preply approved materials. How did you do that please?
    Thank youuuuu

    • @kemikhoe
      @kemikhoe  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! Thank you for watching my video and for the comment. To answer your question:
      I would say starting out it can be hard because you're waiting for your first lesson, but once you start and the students are more consistent, the better and easier. The platform is very simple and easy for beginner teachers to use.
      For the Preply approved materials, I have my child students do the activities to completion they have in the Preply Classroom. Like practicing their pronunciation, spelling, and writing, etc.

      1. Preply sends you the link for the placement test to send to the student. You get the link after the student books their trial lesson with you
      2. There no true demo class for Preply because every tutor does their lessons differently. Preply just provides the materials for guidance.
