Perhaps the biggest surprise is that this is genuinely a more powerful console. We weren't expecting any performance gains in our existing, non-HDR Xbox One games, but it turns out games like Project CARS actually run more smoothly on the new machine.
Not quite the pointless stop gap before Project Scorpio we worried it might be? It sort of depends how able you are to buy one and still save up substantial amounts of money for Scorpio's arrival in late 2017.

I bought a xbones battlefield one edition 1tb. Has a stand with it. Not sure why you say only a 2tb one has them. Love our PS4 but with the cyber Monday prices I couldn't pass this deal up. $249 battlefield one special edition 1tb with stand. Pretty good deal if I do say so myself

360 only lasted 8 years because when they were made they had powerful parts the Xbox one and ps4 are both low end
But they had 3 different slim versions of that Xbox, so their timeline isn't actually too far off. If you don't want to buy this new Xbox because you just bought one then don't. The one you have will continue to work fine

I bought an Xbox one S 2 weeks back and finished playing Battlefield 1, now playing Gears of War 4 and Forza Horizon queued once GoW4 finishes. Its fun and I love that small sleek beauty. I am from Canada, got 1TB GoW4 bundle for $280 ($380 but they gave $100 gift card@ Shoppers) and I think it wasn't a bad deal. Comment if your fav game, so that I can give it a try :)
xbox one for almost three years , it's still strong and the performance are good enough.
I purchased an original xbox one before the xbox one S came out. At the time of purchase of the xbox one I owned a Wii-U also. I recently bought a PS4 pro as I previously did not own a PS4 slim. I am happy with my decision to spend an extra $100 to get the PS4 pro over the PS4 slim. I am not going to upgrade to an Xbox one S. I will wait until the xbox scorpio comes out to upgrade on the Microsoft line of console. I don't plan on purchasing 4K blu-ray format discs of movies. I stream all the movies i watch from netflix. On a side note I plan on purchasing a nintendo switch in the future year time frame. I currently don't own a 4K TV. I like the OS of the Xbox one's aesthetics more than the the PS4's OS. I like the variety of the OS of the PS4 and Xbox one being different from each other. I like more complex OS of windows and tiles of the Xbox one's OS as compared to the simpler graphical user interface of the PS4. I like the PS4 OS as it gets the job done and is easy to understand or navigate through. But I like Xbox one's OS best.
I love the PS4 pro. Why ? Because I enjoy a variety of hardware and operating systems of consoles. Just like I love Microsoft Windows and Apple’s MacOS and even Linux OS. I don’t feel tied to any one video game console of brand of computer. Yes I am an Apple fan. But I am also a Microsoft fan. What ever video game console or computer gets the job done or has differing variety of interaction or best games etc., I will purchase that computer or video game console.

It comes with the 2 terabyte Xbox one s and some special edition Xbox one s. The 2 terabyte Xbox one s is now discontinued by Microsoft and is replaced by the cheaper 1 terabyte Xbox one s. It sucks that it doesn't come with a stand unless you buy their premium special edition Xbox one s's. Same with the Xbox one X. The stand came with Xbox one X Scorpio editon and special editions but not with the regular Xbox one s and Xbox one X. I know it sucks but it's the way life is.

PC gamers do have an advantage over games deal with it, yeah a lot of people in the PC community are shit heads who think they're superior, but just because of that you can't say that we have best of the best graphics in 'a 2d game or a shitty shooter' battlefield 1 has an amazing engine that can only reach full potential on a PC, good graphics are nice to look at, higher frame rates allow for more immersion, a mouse and keyboard allow for more precision. PC gaming is the best gaming experience you can get, yes money is an issue and that's where consoles come in, but we still get bragging rights.

Yes it is Superfluous, because we don't NEED the 8gb of RAM. If we did need it none of the games for Xbox 360 would actually be playable on a 360. I would also just like to point out that from what I can see none of the games on Xbox One play any better, look any or better, or run any better on Xbox One than their Xbox 360 equivalents do on Xbox 360.

I've heard there's this platform that can already run games at 4K and 60fps, has controls that are accurate and intuitive, provides completely free multiplayer, supports tons of both indie and AAA games and, when done right, can cost less than and Xbox or PS4!

I doubt that a console under 1000$ will be able to do that. Most PCs are struggling with 4k especially if you want 60 fps.

According to Microsoft all consoles including Scorpio will play all Xbox one and backward compatible games also the controllers will work on all 3 my XB1 controller works on the S console you just have to plug it in with a micro USB to link it then your good To go wirelessly so it's all good !

All Xbox did the same : The 500 gb version is ~ 350 gb, and the 1 TB is actually ~ 740 gb and then the 2 TB version will actually be 1.6 TB . I know that because I actually own the 500 gb version and after that I bought the 1 Tb version. It's never the actual amount of space that they say because when you turn on the Xbox for the first time you need to download a pretty massive update for the system !

I don't see a significant difference in graphics. Their exclusives are the only things that matter. I can play on a pc, xbone, or a ps4 just fine. That said, I'm going for ps4 for the exclusives (uncharted, ratchet & clank, no man's sky etc.)

I would say your choice depends on circumstances, like deciding if you want a dedicated stationary gaming console that is made for more hardcore games like Halo or Gears of War with high performance, or do you want a portable, more lay back (most likely less powerful given the size) gaming experience with Super Mario Bros. and Legend of Zelda?

Yet to buy an Xbone. Still not convinced its a viable quick play gaming option for me. Will stick to my 360 at the moment. This might tip me though in the future, with it being smaller and more sleek. Its like the Elite version of the 360. At least, I hope so. Edit: Oh, with it being smaller, less plastic etc, does it make it any cheaper, or the same price at present Xbone prices???
