  • There are not many ultra long-term reviews on enduro mountain bikes to assist the second hand MTB buyer on what are good bikes to buy. Here is a review of my first dual suspension bike- a great trail bike, my introduction to enduro racing and a bike which is far more capable than I am as a rider.
Im 180cm, 72kg and would ride the 19.5.
I hope this review helps, don’t hesitate to ask any questions below.

that issue you had with "sticking" at high temps, you had air in the line and it expanded from heat, they were half closed as if the lever was constantly pushed. Nothing to do with sticking or not returning of the pistons

Thank you for your assistance. That is what I thought as well- but unfortunately it did not resolve with a brake bleed to remove any air. I have since had the brakes replaced under warranty. Here is the link to find the serial number to see if your levers are effected too: th-cam.com/video/A2ay1K8wiGc/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps.

Checking this after a super nice ride on my 2018 Trek Remedy 8! Isn't it a great allround bike! I can definitely recommend doing oil service on the fork and shock. I did it on my now 2 years after I bought it and it feels new again! So smooth after the rebuild and service.
A question since you have the same bike; have you ever been experimenting with bottomless tokens? If so, what so you use and what's your thought on the changing characteristics?

Thanks for watching Tobias A, you're right, the combination of shocks on this bike makes for a buttery smooth ride. I did a shockwiz tune on my bike- however never needed to add any tokens, I made videos of those tunes if you're interested. th-cam.com/video/z9l3xF-vYVg/w-d-xo.html and th-cam.com/video/4UT3aoKVTRY/w-d-xo.html I hope this helps.

Thanks for watching Liam Tanner, after moving from a hard tail you will be happy with either- both are great bikes! Check out my slash review for a comparison. th-cam.com/video/id4437MCGtw/w-d-xo.html I hope that helps.

I’ve got the 2019 version. Does yours get paint scuffs from shoes and knee pads in mud?
And my ABP pivot always seems to creak when I pedal hard. I’m always taking it apart and cleaning it. It stops for a while.
And those early guide brakes I think that was a known problem and sram was replacing them

Thanks for watching brokenlegz- I didn't think about the scuffs! I assumed that my pads were at fault- the top tube is where most of the markings are on mine. If I had my time again I would certainly consider getting the bike frame wrapped.
I didn't get the creaking- however when the pivots started to loosen unweighting the back wheel would develop a knock. It was pretty subtle when riding but most notable when taking the bike in and out of the car. It was always a reminder to me to make sure the pivot bearings were all evenly tightened before starting my ride. That said, I don't think that this is what you are experiencing- so hopefully another trek rider on here can help you out!
Thanks for your response about the brakes- I have sorted it out through my local bike shop and made another video of where other riders can find serial numbers to fix theirs too. th-cam.com/video/A2ay1K8wiGc/w-d-xo.html Hopefully your newer model wasn't affected!

does the bike come stock with tubeless or does it have tubes

Thanks for watching Luca Hamilton- mine came with tubes, however it was tubeless ready- so I converted it over before my first ride and never had any concerns with the rims or tyres in the 2 years I had the bike. I hope this helps.
