Too long and complicated... For worded problems it's best to improve ones reading comprehension skills. 1. Let x = smaller number, 3 + 2x = bigger number Working equation: x + 3 + 2x = 33, simplify it, so you get 3 + 3x = 33 Then if you solve for x, you'll eventually get x = 10 (The smaller number) 2. Just check the choices and determine which of those add up to 25. Obviously, it's 10 and 15. Which is bigger? 15. If the choices are quite similar, let 2x = smaller number, 3x = bigger number. Working equation: 2x + 3x = 25, solve for x then you'll get x=5. Finally, substitute the 5. 3(5) = 15 is the bigger number Hope this helps sa test takers. Kasi this method is time consuming, mauubusan lang kayo oras sa test.
