It's because evil cycles remove a demon's restraints for example if you have bad thoughts about wanting to punch someone you *WILL* punch that someone. In Iruma's case hes just so nice that he doesn't have any thoughts like that, so in evil cycle hes just more confident but still the old iruma
I think it's because the evil cycle doesn't actually turn you evil, it just releases your limits and want to do everything that satisfies your desires and since Iruma is innocent through and through he just becomes a lot more confident because he doesn't have evil thoughts
