- A few people have asked me to make an acceleration video of the Scenic, so I did.
I did a few 0-100, 0-200 and 100-200 km/h runs, with a full interior, and 2 people on board. On winter tyres. Lol.
Performance mods:
3" downpipe with 200 cell sports cat
Milltek Megane 2 RS catback
eBay intercooler
K-Tec Racing Megane 2 RS Induction kit
Remap
180whp
280wNm
Either way, while the car is not fast, it's fairly quick-ish - certainly absurd for a Scenic! And that's exactly why I love it...

Hehe, yep, you are correct Keith! 😝 I actually loooooove how this car sounds! These engines produce a weird deep growl sound, unlike 99% of the 4 cylinders 😁
Sounds great Mark! I think you need to fit an f1 engine at some point? Also I bet Mexico is sick of us petrolheads...do you think the a6 was stock?
F1 engine would be insane 😂 It'd have to be a V10, too, not that flimsy V6.. Mexico is certainly sick of is, but what can you do 🤷🏻♂️😂 Maybe next time I'll just go to Germany and its unlimitied Autobahn? The A6 was probably stock, but I think it had a V6 turbo, which is quite powerful (I used to work where these engines were built haha).
@3:02 It is not absurd if you prefer a comfortable entrance and seating position but want to go fast.
You are correct, I actually know a guy in Germany who used his Scenic 2.0T to travel long distances fast but in comfort!

This the mk2 megane rs engine I bet its complete rebuild I'm wanting to change my 1.6 petrol to something with more go was thinking the clio 182 or somthign what would be best
Do you know if it's possible to upgrade a secenic 2 from 1.6 to 2.0 t ? I'd love to turn my family sedan into a lease-car butchering animal.
I'd say it's definitely possible, you can even do it with a Megane 2 RS engine. You would need the engine, gearbox, driveshafts, engine mounts, wiring harness and probably even more stuff like intercooler and piping, catalytic converter, etc

I was looking at the the rs engine doing a rebuild on my 1.6 petrol but hard to get petrol most are deseils

Custom injector, downpipe, intercooler and after remap 180HP? Stock are 170+ at dyno, you put 85 octane or WTF?
Stock injector, stock turbo, decat downpipe, catback exhaust, bigger intercooler, and 180 WHEEL horsepower. There's a significant difference there... :)

Roughly, yes. I don't know exactly because the dyno I was on didn't calculate flywheel numbers, but it's generally accepted that FWD cars have around 15% drivetrain loss, which would put it around 210-215hp.

I don't use the car a lot, so hard to say, but I believe around 12l/100km (you can get around 9 if you drive slowly and carefully, but then you wouldn't hear the turbo noises soooo... 😂)
My Renault scenic 1.5 2003 85hp top speed 206 kmh.
My top speed was 225 km/h (flat surface) and 240 km/h (downhill). :)
@@MarkTheVanMan Mine 1.6 16v Gasoline's top speed was 197 kmh on a flat road, on paper it's 185, so pretty nice. Happy with it
