Little tip i picked up in art class doing this is on the cheap make your pattern out of wax or silicon baking paper. Both are water proof-ish and stick down with double sided tape. Simple cheap way to make water resistant pattern pieces.
For someone who’s never done stain glass before this looks pretty great! Also, it wouldn’t be unfitting to paint on a mouth, that’s a technique used in a lot of stained glass pieces for delicate facial details too small to cut out
You are correctly. Funnily enough I accidently cut out the part where I said that it was neither of those things, no one is dying or was pretending to be dying, and how my friend had lied to me. That's why that part kind of just ends there and doesn't lead to the next part.
@@Xavyr_D Mouse had a little chuckle and did a bit on the difference. She liked your work. The clippers found it and posted so expect a lot of people coming to watch the video.. (like me)
I've seen people use sticker paper or vinyl cut from cricket for the pattern process and use copper foil for the edges of the glass so the solder has something to stick to, it came out amazing though!! I want to make a stained glass piece one day, so I have been hyperfixating on it lmao
I'm 100% getting a cricket when I can they seem like absolute life/time savers. I was actually going to use copper foil instead of lead came but, I remembered being told you need to be very accurate when grinding to make it work well and good at soldering, so that kind of scared me off. I hope you have fun when you get around to your stained glass work.
I dont realy watch Vtubers but someone making a Stained glass is always intressting. also that crack on the glass when it breaks correctly sound of progress.
''no such things as a bad first attempt'' dude this look amazing (from me who don't know shit about glass art anyway) i hope mouse can see this on stream. Also a window with a lot of vtuber would look awesome.
Genuinely really impressive work. The design is solid and the gap fix looks intentional. First attempts at anything are always hard but the fact you finished it is amazing!
I wonder if cleaning the lead came with say acetone would remove any oils/coatings applied to keep the lead bright before sale. Kind of like haw steel comes with a layer of mill scale. It's worth a try and not to expensive to get. Just wear your respirator or di it outside.
I actually used steel wool to scrape off the oxidised layer before applying the acid to avoid that. It looks a lot darker on in the video than it does on person so I think it's maybe meant to look like this and since I have only seen pictures online so I don't really know what it's meant to look like in person.
hey man really nice job looks awesome, little tip I learned when I was a Joiner working with an old school glazier who did alot of lead lite glazing, to get the lead looking a really nice crisp black was oven cleaner, which was a surprising and really cool trick we used alot when doing restoration work it works pretty quick. best of luck with your next one.
Mouse watched your video on stream. She loved it, but was a little confused by the "dying" bit, lol. You can find it in her most recent VOD on twitch starting at 10:27:50.
@@Xavyr_D That's understandable, I think I would feel the same. She seemed to take it well and didn't seem to be truly bothered by it though. The most important thing is she loved your work. I didn't realize when first watching that it was your first attempt at something like this. It came out incredibly well!
@@Ticky21 I'm happy she too it in stride and enjoyed it. Lucky youtube lets me cut things out so I just deleted the section, I still wish that one of the other 23,000 people pointed it out before she saw it lol. Also thank you.
Oh also, when it comes to using markers to outline your pieces for grinding, I find it's best to use oil-based markers in metallic colors, such as silver and gold. It also helps to apply a layer of vaseline or chap stick to the marker to make it extra hydrophobic.
Try building your piece on some wood and using horseshoe nails to secure each piece in place so that you don’t have to solder until the very end. Makes it a lot easier to make adjustments as well should you need to ^.^
Looking really good for a first try! Remember that the only difference between a newbie and a pro is how you hide your mistake’s ;-) Hope she finds this clip, I think she’d love it!
Don't mind me i'm just sitting here waiting for this to get the popularitt it deserves and to watch it blow up the like the stained glass almost did, lol
Cheers, I have already started on the pattern for the next person I will be adding, though that being said, since I have to save up a bit of money for the glass the next few videos will probably involve working with leather and lace, copper metal working and making chicken jelly look like a streamer (this one is a bit weird but, I promised I would do it).
U should have made the mouth piece a different colour so it's like a mask. Would have been neat as u couldn't make a mouth. Sick stained glass work tho ❤
Now that I think of it I will probably add Connor next, because it will be cute and not because vtubers have way more complicated designs with harder colours to find. Though It may be a couple videos away because glass is expensive lol.

Hey, for a first attempt, she's really good! Looking forward to seeing what other vtuhers you turn into stain glass!

Thank you. I was thinking of doing it but, then that opens a whole can of worms of what should and shouldn't paint in.
dude this is absolutely sick!!! don’t be discouraged !!! you did amazing !!
Cheers mate.
Mouse has a chronic illness, she's not terminally ill.

There are oil based pencils for glass, I used them at an old job. They’re called China markers or dematopgtaph pencils
Thank you, I had no idea about them, I'll try them out next time.
I thought the words on the cover said “GL ass” as in the gl (the genre) and ass, and let me say i find that very amusing
Never did I think I'd see vtuber stained glass, I love it! It's always cool to see pop culture glass art.

Heck yeah! This is rad. Always fun to see the variations people bring to the Vtuber art scene!
This was very cool to watch, it turned out so nice! If Mousey sees this, I'm sure she'd be flattered.
The love toward Ironmouse is immaculate. Thank you all.
Your end result is beautiful!
Thank you. Cheers.
10/10 TH-cam algorithm start to recommend!!!!! Hope you get more views because this is insane

That makes a lot of sense. Though the idea of hammering nails near glass sounds anxiety inducing.
damn that’s so cook

Oh I'm already starting to master hiding the mistakes. Is there a little gap? Well a little solder will cover that up.
This is freaking cool! From all the “fanart” this is the first glass one I saw ❤❤❤

And this is the first attempt? Well, cheers for future projects.
This is an awesome concept I'm excited to watch your journey
Also make sure you are using a ventilation mask when using UV resin
Thank you.
I basically wear a mask when I make anything because if I only wear it sometimes I forget to put it on when I should.
This looks like a fun hobby to pick up.
It turned out so cool! You did awesome!!
Cheers
Amazing job! Love Mouse
And so the church of mouse was born!
Applaud you, good sir!
now make one stained glass for each of her designs
I hate that piece too. Looks great. Would love to see more in the future.

Very cool!
Also can’t wait for the church of iron mouse to open with these windows
I will have to buy a very large work table for that, I'm already starting to run out space.
A window with more V-Tubers or a window with more Ironmouse?
People of culture: How about both? 😆
Amazing!!!
nice
I love it ☺❤
Dang this video kinda blew your channel up didn't it. Lol. The TH-cam gods have chosen you. In all seriousness this was great I'm excited to see more

Cheers. I don't think she has.
For the love of your sanity just use a UV resin.
Also good job it looks great,.
It's a bit too late for my sanity.
My apologies... At some point I tuned out and started paying more attention to the sax-solo Gintama music in the background than to your commentary.
Perfectly understandable.
Yoooo thats amazing!~ well done! make the other Vshojo member maybe? ;)
Can you make one of the vtuber gaming with mim? She has a ton of vtuber models so I think it would be cool to see one of them in glass.
Sir, excuse me
You are excused.
ah damn already sacrificed my first born to the eldridge gods, could i do my Second born?
i know i know ill see myself out
Why did you do this? Why do i like it?Why do I want to try it, and make it of stupid mundane stuff?
