Watching these last ones slightly out of sequence, really enjoyed that one, partly from the great view of the butt welding sequence and also for the shaping fabrication point of view. Been welding and fabricating including patch panels like you are for over 30 years as DIY and hobby and enjoying trying to guess how you will do this bit or that and also reminding me and teaching me techniques I have overlooked or forgotten. Well done and eager to press play on the next one.
sod the cash, my top prize, would be a ride in rusty, as you say bite size but every bit brings her back to life, well done lad, wait for next instalment
You've really doing a brilliant work of your car, your welding is so neat and tidy also making some small panels for yourself I really take my hat off to you. Really enjoyed all your restoration on the Capri videos. Excellent work. Looking forward to seeing it finish.
You do an amazing job Jamie !!! . Other sites "hop and skip" and edit and the car is finished in 20 minutes. . (they just muddle the mind) . I'm very greatful for your videos as i,m hopeless with metal and welding
Brilliant job Jamie your getting some serious progress accomplished on old rusty now and it’s looking good. I’ve worked out why my metal working is so crap it’s because I don’t have a Jaffa cake box or more than likely I’m probably just crap at it 🤣🤣 nice work mate enjoyed the vid 👍
Great video. Good progress so far Jamie, good job on making the panel pieces. Nothing wrong with your welding that cant be ground down later if needed, because no one is ever going to see it anyway. As long as it is solid and the car has its strength back it will be fine. Look forward to more great videos. Cheers, Jeff.
If you don't have a metal folder but need to put a 90 degree bend along the entire length of a patch by hand don't be tempted to hammer a full 90 degree bend at the start then continue in one pass or you'll stretch the metal and banana the panel then you'll need to shrink the edge to get it flat again ,put the bend in gradually over multiple passes with the hammer only adding a few degrees with each pass and the panel will stay flat.
Why don’t you just buy a complete floor and welded in place instead of doing patchwork quilt like do the whole lot in one go save you a lot of time complete floor is it not expensive go to Capri gear not doing good deal for you shop about before you do it it’s gonna put more strength in it in what you’re doingShashi Shashi are still intact not the button then just work complete
Is that still half of the only flora I wanna done it like that I wanna cut it all out and put a new hole complete new flooring and see anyway you’re gonna get rid of all that lot because you’re just welding good amount of rubbish metal instead of just doing it completely new panels all the way through and that lot you can get them there is places out there what do you new panels for agrees so if you gonna do it proper if you gonna do it you Mazell do it properly first time round then laugh at your in the spray booth when you come to get it re-sprayed just gonna be wasting your money that’s how I would’ve done it very similar to how we are still loves doing it you wanna go on rusty loves website and look to see how are you doing they virtually cut all their bad panels out and put new all new panels in you could’ve brought new ones and then put new ones in instead of just using the old rubbish because the new ones last longer and then look back well that’s my opinion And what about your 3 L what you doing with that set on about changing the engine to the V8
Keep up the motivation mate. You’re motivating us all. Love watching your fabricated pieces.

I admire this guy for his dedication but i'm with you on this one. Just get a new floor pan, it would be cheaper, faster & neater.
