Whoo-hoo, agree. I’ve always loved Margot. I was in a lift with her by accident in Sydney and we talked about shopping and a love of shoes. I asked about a photo and she didn’t look annoyed! 😂Her shoes were dirty tennis shoes that day which was funny. Her hair looked messy but her skin, whoa, awesome. She has this huge smile, too, which is super.

@@lisilein2 Not exactly. First, they were going to cast Amy Schumer, then Anne Hathaway. Margot actually wanted Gal Gadot to be Barbie but she couldn’t do it
Is Barbie a feminist? I hate that question from that man. But Barbie could be everything she wanted to be. But for most of us girls it was more about the pretty clothes and hairstyles. And the dream house and car. We never question if she was a feminist.
Barbie is a feminist icon because she was the first Girl doll before that the dolls that existed for girls were baby dolls mostly, which reduced a woman's role to Mother and nothing else.
Yes! The one thing that I think is true, Greta and Margot seem to love everything about BarBiE. The pinkness, the fashion, etc. I’m so impressed by what they’ve done to bring her to life. I think this is one of the best representations of a toy brought to life. I cannot get enough BarBiE.
Consummate actress! 7:11 prep, 7:30 start: In a comic 'cold news' reading, Margot took on the look, voice and inflections of a top announcer - with her usual total focus. BRAVA BRAVISSIMA!
As an American, I kept hearing "nipple" when she said netball. 🤣 We don't have netball here, but I know it from British shows. So excited to see the Barbie movie!
What a great interview with them!😃 Fun movie and Margot Robbie is so beautiful & such PERFECT casting!💖 My all-time FAVORITE Barbie doll is Teresa. She’s absolutely breathtaking!💖 I also love Barbie nemesis, Raquelle.😂 I really hope we see them in the sequel!!😃 🎶come on Barbie let’s go party🎶😃
I feel like the question about Barbies being reffered to as BBQs is going a bit far. Yes it's slang for a BBQ... but how many Australians actually use it and if you are a kid playing with your Barbies - it's clear that you mean the doll...
Every Aussie refers to a BBQ as a Barbie... it is by far the most common name. But yes there is almost no context overlap, which is why it took a beat for Margo to mate the switch.
@@chriswhale2546 I think it's a bit far to say that "every" Aussie use refers to a BBQ as a Barbie - but perhaps it's more common than some of the other Aussie slang out there.
I am a huge fan of Greta Gerwig, and I hate the Project! Lol, only watching this for Greta. Queen of indie, so bizarre seeing you on this most mainstream TV show! I am happy for you and your success in directing such a massive film! Such a huge change from your previous work. Looking forward to seeing how 'Greta magic' somehow shines through in a shiny hollywood blockbuster.
I love Greta as well...her movies are special. Frances Ha is what I watch when I want to feel better about not fitting in. I haven't seen this movie, and surprisingly (or not surprisingly?) I'm not sure I want to. But yeah, I love her.
oh, she's saying "NET BALL"!! (aka "basketball). I'm actually really good at accents -- including Australian ones (lots of Australians visit S. Francisco) but I swear that, until the very end, I thought she was saying she played "Nipple" as it would be pronounced in a working-class London (or Cockney) accent!
This was one of my favorite movies in 2023! Congratulations to Greta on being the first woman on directing a film to gross over $1 billion! I think I like Margot even more now!
*Barbecue, sold in stores & catalogues, is a cooker using charcoal briquets or liquid fuel to *barbecue food. Aussies are right and just fine (I'm a supportive Canadian)

Poor Margot seems exhausted. She's been flying around promoting this movie non-stop for weeks.
But it's a happy exhaustion. I assume both of them are also producers besides being director and lead actress.
But golly she still looks good -no bags under our Barbie’s eyes. 😂

im amazed by her acting skill when she suddenly read the news. im like woww was that rehearsed?
I love how she sounds way more australian here.
So funny that Margot herself is an Aussie yet did not know what Barbie meant in her Homeland LOL
I think she knew. She just thought there was a less obvious meaning or something darker.
I think she thought it was new feminist/style/ underground term, maybe. My brain went there too -& it annoyed me. Lol
she did know, but the americanism got to her 😂😂😂😂
