And there will be the naysayers who say IU only won because Ohio had injuries. IU needs to be given the respect and praise they deserve whether you think it s a soft schedule or not. They cannot control their schedule. And honestly, you can see the caliper of football they are playing is on another level we haven't seen. They will take on whatever teams come their way.
Buckeye fan here. From what I’m hearing we can let Hinzman(our center last year but now our left guard) move back to center, or let true sophomore Josh Padilla play center a year ahead of schedule. If Padilla is at least serviceable I’d prefer that option. What I picture happening on Saturday is a kind of a circling the wagons mentality from Ohio State and they still win by double digits, BUT if IU comes into Columbus and beats us, there’s no asterisk at all. With what we do recruiting and with NIL we can never ever ever ever make excuses about losing because of injuries. We brag all the time about how if we played with our 2nd team offense and defense we’d still be one of the top teams in the B1G so losing a player or two isn’t ideal, but nobody should feel sorry for us, we’re Ohio State.
Indiana is also down two starters on oline. I really suspect our shortcomings against Michigan were in part due to that and limited rotations. Unlike OSU, it isn't an area we can afford to lose to many to injury.
Indiana fans are getting out in front of our collective skis. There is a little too much confidence and expectation. Despite the planets aligning, osu is still a two touchdown favorite. Indiana has to play the game in front of them and don't let big osu plays happen. Who can execute their game plan better?
Starting C and LG are both injured, both of which were transfers and best linemen. Frye can’t recruit or develop, which is great news for IU. See Cotton Bowl
Texas got spanked by Georgia and somehow ducked Bama, OM, Tenn, SC, and LSU. They also only beat Vandy by 3 and nobody talks about any of that. If they lose next weekend at A&M they deserve to be out
@@donaldshotts4429 Then A&M will deserve a spot, it all evens out at the end of the day. I think people are crying about SEC because they are simply used to SEC being super dominant before NIL/Portal changed everything. Now SEC doesn't have super elite teams like they used to, the talent is more spread out through 8 really solid teams rather than 2-3 unstoppable teams.
@@I_am_Dad_Son There is truth in the portal and NIL changing things a lot. The even competition makes many more exciting and fun games to watch. SMU, BYU, Vandy et. al. all have added to the spice of the season.
No glasses? I was used to the glasses and your Indiana shirt LOL. NASA is cool though. 👍 Just FYI. IMO This Georgia team is not the championship level Georgia teams of recent history. There just is NOT a dominant team this year but the likes of GA still can win it all. There are plenty of GOOD teams including Georgia. This may be true for the future years for a while. Is this the portal that is evening things out? However it happened, having no dominant great teams makes the season a lot more fun!
Well as the saying goes, it's hard winning in Nov. And the fact that wear and tear starts to raise it's ugly head this time of year cannot be avoided. Not a fan of people getting injured, but that's the nature of the beast.Just want to let you know Duck fan here pulling for a Hoosiers win. I think Indiana has a better team than Ohio State. I'm sure you will be ready for this game. If you shut down or limit the receivers, and can get lots of pressure on Will Howard, it should create a lot of 3 and outs. Good luck.
IU quiets the haters this weekend. IU wins by 10 and the sec needs to shut their whining mouths. They’re the ones who are over rated! The big ten is the football powerhouse this year. Get over it!
If IU somehow squeaks out a win here they will still complain and say we only won because OSU had an injury. It’s always excuses when IU wins. All the teams we played were “good” or some sort of “test” until IU beat them. No one takes IU seriously no matter what they do.
Nobody mentions that IU lost their starting left guard during practice the week of the Michigan game. The o-line play should be better with two weeks of practice.
@edwardmears-ur5bg I'll be back to chat about this. Indiana deserves their flowers for being undefeated. However, I'm having a hard time justifying the fact that the best B1G team you've played is currently #8 in the B1G and the best rushing offense you've played is the horrible wolverines. The best defense you've played is 26th in the nation and your SOS is anywhere between 55-100, your resume rank is 106 via ESPN, and your FPI is the lowest of the top 12 teams. We shall see what happens to our rush offense now that we have to shuffle our O line again (3rd time in 4 weeks). Good Luck - Go Bucks.
Sorry this is so long. But hopefully, it makes some sense to the Indiana Indiana fans. Indiana is the greatest story of 2024 college football. No doubt. you’re definitely a fan. God bless you man. Let me give you a fair illustration to understand why Indiana is in the spot they’re in… Indiana has played the 106th strongest schedule in football this year. Not one of your opponents is over .500 for this season. Let’s say, that you have played the 12th hardest schedule in football, have two losses against top 15 teams and have won two games against top 15 teams. At this point, Indiana would be 9-2. Let’s say, you’re going against a randomly named 11-0 Oregon team. They’re undefeated, against a schedule that’s one of the worst in the nation. But they’re undefeated! Wouldn’t you then think that Indiana deserves to be in the CFP, over Oregon? Indiana would’ve played the far more difficult schedule and come out on top two out of four times. That’s the other side of the coin. You guys haven’t been in this situation in generations. It’s a GREAT story. You now are about to play the only “quality game on your schedule.” HOW you lose matters. If it’s close, you don’t move down much in the rankings. If you win? You might go to number one. Because you finally played a “quality team” and everyone got to see if you were truly “for real” or, just the recipient of a favorable schedule. I wish you guys nothing but the best. No matter what happens Saturday… As an Indiana fan, you have to feel absolutely proud of this team. No matter the outcome.
If Ole Miss plays Indiana in the CFP, you know what will happen. You will get your stuff cleaned. Same for Alabama, or whoever you might face from the SEC, and YOU KNOW IT!

You can only play who's in front of you can only play who they schedule you to play I'm sorry you people lost a game or two but we haven't quit complaining and play your game that's coming up next
The Big Ten doesn't schedule non-conference games for each school. Scheduling FIU, W Illinois, and Charlotte didn't help your cause this year, but I see why Indiana did. Their football over the last 3 years has been horrible, so no one saw this coming, and they wanted to get the football team some wins.
I've been viewing the Ohio State pundits' posts. Their coach sounds like coach Cig, next man up, next play is most important. So I do not weigh this news as significant
I'm a Buckeye fan and can tell you this is big. Mclaughlin transferred in from Bama and he became the glue on a line that was not championship quality last year. The next man up will be Hinzman the current starting left guard. Hinzman was center last year but did not play well. The other choice is a redshirt freshman who has never started and played sparingly. Not sure they can get it figured out by Satyrday with only 2 practices left this week
Yea as a IU fan that sucks for this guy, spent his whole life playing and literally months before the draft this happens! Speedy recovery.
I hate seeing people injured even if it helps my team. Pray for everyone's health and no injuries for any team in any sport.
