people might search for such videos when they are already desperate and trying to find a title for their theses or dissertations, and the way you speak is calming ad relaxing 😌😌 , which definitely makes us feel less stressed and realize that YES; there is always a way to analyze literary texts. thank you
Thank you. Although it already made sense to me that one chooses a theory based on what one wants to prove or say, I've never had a professor articulate it so there was some hesitation there. This video offers me some sorely needed validation and confidence, so I'm grateful.
I genuinely hadn't come across the concept of "Literary Theories" or whatever one might call them, until yesterday. This has actually completely changed ny view of Literature studies, because I always saw it as a very vague concept. I'm reading Dracula right now, and I remembered coming across the marxist interpretation, and thinking that was just someone's broad ideas about a text. Last night I went to learn a bit more about the marxist theory I'd found, and realised there where a bunch of other ideas under labels like "Queer Theory" and "Feminist Theory", and I just though, "Wait, there's more of these?!" I'm hoping this was the missing piece of the puzzle that'll help me get more out of reading in the future. Thank you for this video, I found thr example really good to help me get my head around all of this especially!
Very helpful video! Professor most of the researchers in the field of science are very confident and articulate in deciding definitive methods and approaches of analysing their object of study whereas a researcher in literature struggles to differentiate between research method and approach in literary analysis. Is there a difference between research method and approach in literary analysis of a work of art? or are they same? Is Marxist literary criticism an approach or a method? Will you please make a video on this.
Thank you. Obviously humanistic research is different as it does not have a stable object of study. But we can use various methods, including Marxism, to study texts and figures. Please explore the channel. There are plenty of materials on the channel that could be useful to you.
Hello sir! Sir your videos are easily digestible. Would you please make a video on the difference between Deconstructionism and reader response theory? Upto some extent, both of them look similar to me. Thanks in advance respected sir!
assalam u alikum sir .. i wanted to ask if we can apply philosophical lens to a text? for example i want to apply theory of becoming / nature(that comes from concept of Rhizome , also nomadism ) by Deleuze and Gautari .. but i dont have any research gap to fulfil .. can you please guide me on that because i ve failed to convince my supervisor to work on it but i am unable to build my interest in different theory
Thank you. As far as I am concerned you can use any philosophy to talk about the text, but you will have to see what your supervisor suggests and then follow their guidance, as they are the best suited to guide you, or so one hopes.
I've been thinking of taking Theory of ecocriticism but still getting confused...As my supervisor isn't helping me a bit ....would you tell me is it a good option to go for?
Thank you. It will depend on what you want say and write about. If it helps you articulate what you want to say, then go for it. Obviously, I cannot offer any specific suggestions as I do not know the context of your work.
Thank you. Sorry, I cannot offer individual help with projects. But please take a look at my playlists on Academic writing. Those might be helpful. Your faculty are best suited to help you with your individual projects.
Hi Dr Raja. Thank you so much for sharing these valuable information via your channel. Would you mind preparing another vedio in relation to this one in which you can help us to choose and decide about a topic for postgraduate research. Thank you so much again.
Thank you. I am not sure about linguistics but I do have a couple of videos on how to decide on a paper topic. Please look into my playlist on academic writing tips.
Your excellency, I am a constant listener of your lectures. I need your guidance. For my PhD thesis, I am interested to probe Islamophobia in Reluctant Fundamentalist and Home Boy. Which theoretical frameworks will be suitable for such kind of study i.e. You know there is a bulk of work on Islamophobia, so which theoretical framework may add new color to it? Thanking in anticipation Farooq PhD English Scholar University of Haripur, KP Pakistan.

Aoa sir, I'm also trying to find any post colonial theory which would go with islamophobia, as I've chosen the islamophobia as my topic, I'm doing BS english, may i have a good advice from you , which theorist can be used for islamophobia
@@masoodraja thanks for reply, sir i saw the playlist, Eagalton's literary theory. It contains 34 lectures. will i have to cover all these lectures to clear the concept about the beginning of contemporary literary theory?
@@englishliteraturestudy5245 it depends on what you want to learn. But chapter 1 and 2 should explain. There is no set date for beginning as some people start from Plato and Aristotle. I would say watch the first two videos, read Eagleton and then do some research and see what you find out.

My professor once said; in literature, there are no answers but only Explanations.
Good advice.

Excuse me doctor can I use previous postgraduate assignments to extrapolate forming journals
Do you mean can you use your previously written essays to revise and publish? If that is what you mean then the answer is yes.
Sir I want to do my research on rubber Plantation which socio-political theory will be applicable? Please guide me
Thank you. I am sorry I cannot have any suggestions as I don’t know anything about your training or experience as a scholar.
Sir can u plz guide how to apply a particular theory on a particular text
Thank you. The best way to learn that is by reading different articles. But I do have a couple of webinars on academic writing that might help.
Sir I read the novel The Good Earth by Pearl S Buck with ecocritical perspective. Is that ok what I am doing?
Thank you. I guess it’s entirely up to you to read the novel with whatever you find useful.
Sir can I get answer of which text is covered in Russian formalism and structuralism ? For analysis
Thank you. I am not sure about the question. Any text can be read and discussed using these methods.
I wish it had the subtitle 😭
Thank you. I think it has auto generated English subtitles.
Professor, what I believe is, Theories make us intellectually slave... Correct me if I am wrong....
Thank you. I don’t need to correct you. You have a right to your own opinions.
