    I want to thank you for your video. It is a wonderful and fully illustrated information for the people of Puerto Rico and the world. Some people could be naïve. A lot of them are not well educated in science or geology or school for that matter please forgive some people that have these issues, I believe your video is very educational and would help me and others learn more about our island and how we can make it better thanks to you further in this information so thank you so much. Great video. I’m from Puerto Rico I never prospected gold but I always like it. I still remember a very old map from school that showed two gold locations, one was in el yunque and the second one was on the west side between adjuntas and Ponce. I talk to and elderly couple many years ago in adjuntas and they told me that gold was found in that area. My goal for this year is to do some panning on the creeks and river on that area

  • @edelgado1
    @edelgado1 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Good video. Just shows that the area you panned is clean. Or, you have to move boulders to get to bedrock. By the year you mentioned that people stopped prospecting I have to say that panning stopped way before that, like 500 years ago. When the US came 'here' most stopped working and hence stopped panning and working the land. There is gold but further up river where it is very hard to get to. Probably a couple of days to go up. There is gold in other rivers much easier to get to and 500 years of being left alone. Flood gold is there especially after Maria and last month which had over 10 flash floods. Let me know the next time you come over. Say,... that classifier is so awesome! I wish it was like 30 bucks though. BTW, Im retired and I dedicate time to do this hobby. I camp out in remote places with my Lab and we spend quiet times together And yes it is true that there are no mosquitos. That's because the water is constantly moving and laying eggs is futile. The river I go to has but very little. So a little off is great. Take care and it is good you had the suspicion to go and pan.

    • @saidabimelec8506
      @saidabimelec8506 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Edward Delgado I live near Patillas river and was thinking of going prospecting and camping but its not something i could do alone without any company. Where u from? maybe we could go prospecting upriver.

    • @edelgado1
      @edelgado1 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Seems you haven't yet done sampling in the Patillas river. Check between Charco Azul and Muñoz Rivera. See if you get some color. Patillas river is close to Maunabo which tells me its a good chance to find gold in that river. Im on the north central. The reason I camp out alone with my dog is to avoid humans. Trust me that solitud with your pet is the best experience. Our jungles are safe, especially at night. Give it a try.

    Great video man!! I am a resident have been prospecting rivers here in Puerto Rico for a few years now and have found rivers with very little gold. On the other hand I have found some rivers with an unbelievable amount of something that looks like gold. Its flaky and buttery, so I went thru many videos here on youtube trying to identify the source. So I went upstream and followed the river to where the river is born which leads to a town way up in the mountains. These mountains compositon is not made up of dirt but of sand..its like crushed quartz rocks, many huge mountains made of this stuff. Inside this stuff its gold but im not sure if its gold or pyrite. If its gold then we are onto something extremely major. Im not an expert and would like to mail a sample to see what you think.. the small nuggets found inside the sand when pressed hard enough between your fingers breaks up into a buttery flake and does not look like an USA nugget which are a bit harder. If this stuff is gold then I have found a huge gold vein motherload. This place would have been unaccessable back in the days due to its location and many mountains but now there are roads. There also huge rocks along the river which break up with light pressure and inside of these rocks also gold. I couldn't sleep for days thinking I struck rich but im not really sure. Please let me know if I can mail you a sample, thank you! Peter pedrojulioconcepcion43@gmail.com

    I just want to share some important information regarding gold prospecting in Mameyes River. While gold prospecting is legal in Puerto Rico, Mameyes is part of El Yunque National Forest, a federally protected area with strict environmental regulations. Any extraction or disturbance in this area could lead to legal consequences if proper permits aren’t obtained. I understand the excitement of the search, but I’d strongly recommend checking with the Puerto Rico Department of Natural and Environmental Resources (DRNA) and the U.S. Forest Service to ensure everything is done within the law. I’d hate for you to run into any issues unknowingly. Stay safe and best of luck!

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      Thanks for your concern! Prospecting in national parks is illegal, however national forests in the US and its territories are 100% legal to prospect as there is no claim, nor is it on private property.

    I absolutely love your videos. Been subscribed now for about a month, watched nearly all ur vids lol.
    Unfortunately I'm from southern Minnesota, no gold or anything of value to pan in this area... am curious about the mail order at home panning options. Wouldn't mind trying my luck at that someday to test and see if I have any skill at all.
    Will be visiting a cousin of mine down in the Denver area next summer. He's a novice panner, he's the one that turned me to ur channel. Guessing we're gonna be hitting the local rivers since he's wanting to do it more. Any advice?

    • @Klesh
      @Klesh  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure man, pretty much every river in and around Denver has some gold in it. I've hit up most of the recreational panning places around here in different videos in case you're looking for a spot to go. I like to suggest Arapahoe bar for anyone looking for very easy access to the panning location from parking, and guaranteed a little bit of gold. (i mean little bit literally!) Anyway glad you enjoy my videos and thanks for watching!

    I'm prospecting on an area that have been worked hard for more than 2000 years! Still find that Yellow! You just need to do your homework before you get it! Find bedrock and crevice! Best indicator of what is in the system.

      She is saying that all of the gold of Puerto Rico was robbed by Spaniards in the decades of Cristobal Colón , they invaded our island they changed crystals for gold to our ancestors the native indians ! The name of Puerto Rico 'Rich Port' i because we were rich at that time..... 🤷🏻‍♂️
