    Thanks for this insightful tutorial... I was able to find the void ratio on a related question through this video...
    I have some questions to ask and they are:
    • How were you able to know that the preconsolidation pressure is approximately 185 kPa from the graph?
    • In choosing the point to draw the tangent line, how will you know the exact to use?
    • Did you just draw a line in between straight perpendicular line and tangent line or you did calculate for the angle and bisect them with the line drawn?
    • If you did bisect them, how were you able to get the angle of bisection from the graph?
    • And finally, what do you understand by field compression index and how can we find it from that your question?

      Yes, the Void Ratio can be greater than 1 when the Volume of Voids is greater than the Volume of Solids
