We have the Consolidometro Pneumatico and the software for the Pneumatic Con-Matic Consolidation Machine - HM-5432.3F. I want to know how I make the connection between the machine and the softwere, as I am not able to collect data.
For simple operation you connect the digital dial gauge to the data logger and the it is downloaded to the computer. The system was developed by Humboldt Mfg. and they also have the option to activate the pressure. Most times you just increase the pressure using the pressure regulator for each load increment. good luck, Prof. R. Luna

When she kept touching the soil surface she was reducing the ability of the pore water to drain by smearing the soil surface. If you touch it you should gently rough up the surface to open the drainage path but be very careful not to disturb the sample. Trimming the sample improperly will either disturb and/or reduce the drainage path. Different tools should be used for different soil types. It is an art to be able to trim an undisturbed consolidation sample. The nice thing about the consolidation test is that it is apparent whether the sample was disturbed or not by how sharp the transition from preconsolidation to virgin slope is on the stress-strain or e-log-p curve.

I'm doing an oedemeter test and I loaded and unloaded my weights, does this make my test invalid
Not really, you just have another load cycle to consider. Depending on the level of load, this may not have an impact. Prof. Luna
