I'm keeping my old Pico 4 and holding out for significantly higher PPD. The pass through sounds good though. Maybe it would be worth it if it had eye tracking support for PCVR.
@@Nobody-Nowhere most people play games or sim, mrtv even did a poll recently, very small percent were interested in social vr. No way a company like pico would add expensive eye tracking, jack up the price hundreds of dollars more, for a small niche within VR. Even less would buy the headset at that higher price.
I'm glad to see Pico back in the game. However, if you want to dethrone the king, it's not enough to be almost as good, or even as good. You have to be better. I think a display port connection would have been a big plus.
@@KoRNeRd They could have give both pcvr and standalone version for each apps people bought in their store and it would be far better than buying it on steam store
If pico 4 ultra has local dimming lcd with displayport, pretty much every Quest pc vr gamers gonna buy it over Quest 3. Im surprised they didnt upgrade face cushion after all complaints from users.
@@Rlmfx just like sony is trying to rid all the left over psvr 2 with huge price cut and shutting most of 1st party vr game developers. Meta and Valve and VR modding community are the VR savior.
@@Rlmfx Basically this sadly. It seems to be an attempt to get rid of spare parts. And they probably also had parts from the Pico 5 that they canned but had already ordered (which is what the few hardware upgrades are). Really though, wish we just got a Pico 5 instead because that one would've been pretty great.
This review feels off to me. It starts with some arbitrarily high expectations. Then when a feature is better on the Pico Ultra than Quest 3 the bar is moved to the Vision Pro. In short the reviewer its judging this product between a 600 - 3500 cost range. Of course he wont be satisfied. On the other hand i was pleasantly surprised with the improvements to the Pico store. And the included trackers and games. A shame we cant have this here for that price.
Exactly what was expected, if they had used the lenses of the Quest3, it might have been worth considering. Keep my pico4, but now only play with psvr2 on computer.
@mixedrealityTV I just ordered it from your link 😄 I know its not the best compared with Quest 3 but i love the balance and weight and i can play for hours with it compared to the Quest.
I get headache from the Quest 3, however I adjust the best straps, so I can only use PICO and need to live with the limitations, and I find both the sound and microphone to be better than Quest, and use a soft third party facemask on PICO, really good feeling :)
Thank you very much for the professional review. For me, a long-term PCVR user, PICO 4 is really great. As you said, the binocular superimposition is very good! But it is a pity that PIOC 4 ULTRA has not improved the optical quality, resulting in glare. I am very disappointed in this. However, I am still a little excited to have WIFI7 network speed that can reach the same 2400 as QUEST 3. This is very useful for me to play racing games. Helpful, because it is EA WRC. Maybe you can consider buying it in the second-hand market. In addition, the lenses of PICO 4 are 1cm larger vertically and horizontally than those of QUEST 3, which is about the same size as the glasses I usually wear. It is very friendly to the eyes. I am glad that PICO can still maintain this standard lens size. I hope you can take PICO and go shopping in night markets in Taiwan, haha
Thank you Sebastian for your review. I'm a bit disappointed about some of the lacking improvements of the Ultra, but I might buy one anyway and replace the old one. And I can use my old lens inserts... great! The motion trackers... never missed them much, doubt if I need them. I just like to pop the headset over my head and start using it. With the motion trackers there are more things I have to attach to my body...here in Thailand less is better... I'm already sweating enough 😂😂
That's easy for you to say. OLED is more expensive than even LCD + local dimming, add to that microOLED isn't going to get past 100 degrees of FoV anytime soon and I think you might change your tune. Finally the HP Reverb G2 has the same resolution as the Pico but all but eliminates SDE, I get the render resolution is higher and there's no encryption but I found that interesting.
@@sephiroth4543 Sadly don't expect higher res on headsets like that, also doesn't make sense since no game can run at that res anyway. If you don't want to see pixeles look are PCVR headsets not AIO:s like this one.
@@zerocool6452 I want one that can do both. I have a powerful PC so I want a headset that can be stand alone for fun activities on the move and when I want high resolution gaming I want it to be able to connect to my PC so that I can enjoy top image quality. The Crystal light is decent but Pimax are so bad at QC Varjo Vr or Xr4 whatever it’s called is too expensive for what it is. I want a headset like the Quest3 with AVP type hardware and display port connection to PC
Pico4 was my favorite PCVR headset for quite a while, but I left it behind in favor of the AV1 codec capability of the Quest3. It is SO IMPORTANT to use the AMVR facial interface with Pico, the stock interface is designed to accommodate glasses and it severely hurts the FoV and comfort. The AMVR leather facial interface for Pico4 is significantly more comfortable and gets you a solid 1cm closer to the lenses, vastly improving the FoV and overall experience. For anyone who doesn't care about standalone VR and ONLY wants wireless PCVR, The Pico4S should be seriously considered. It is much more comfortable (on my head) than the Quest3, and has a noticeably better FoV and overlap. The Quest3 panels definitely have much nicer colors, however, and the Meta exclusives. For people in the US, you can easily buy a new-in-box Pico for retail price on eBay. (Probably won't come with support.)
To be fair, the original facial interface with Quest 3 was at least as bad. I have 3rd party ones for both. I still prefer Pico 4 for extended PCVR, as it's far more comfortable. All that said, Pico 4 Ultra doesn't quite offer me enough of an upgrade to justify buying one. I didn't touch Quest 2 after the Pico 4 came out, but since Q3, I've invested much more heavily in the Meta platform, so I couldn't justify the expense of the Ultra, for the little it brings to the platform. I hope it does well though, but that would require a US release. They really should have gone for a Pico 5 though and leapfrogged over Quest 3.
Ok, a question. I have an HP Reverb G2, is it worth to buy a Ultra instead? I will to 90% of the time use PCVR with Steam. Is the graphics compression noticeable with both WiFi7 and USB connection? Or should I stay with the G2? I strongly dislike Meta as a company, so a Quest is not on the table for me.
It's guns be better in terms of FOV. You will still see compression also with wifi 7. But it's a great headset for wireless gaming. Thing is the Pico 4 is just as good for that and you can get it way cheaper!
There's a few things that I don't really understand about this release. They canceled the Pico 5 that would've been an actual Quest 3 killer and replaced it was a much worse Pico 4 upgrade. It's not even good enough of an upgrade to have existing Pico 4 users consider upgrading, because the 2nd issue on top of that is also the pricing. It's insanely expensive for what it is. It's €100 more than the Pico 4 for a marginal upgrade released years later. Even including the trackers it should've been no more than €500. Honestly this pricing scheme is what I hate about modern tech. Prices don't drop, they just release more expensive stuff. Well, it's a shame but it's looking like I'll be using my Pico 4 for another year or 2 for wireless PCVR. Nothing else seems to be coming any day soon that offers a wireless option.
@@tommyhasson1082 The motion trackers definitely aren't doing it for me either along with thr MR stuff. I don't use VR chat, mostly play sitting and have little interest in MR games. Main improvements I'd like to see are great black levels, HDR capability, higher resolution and higher quality video for PCVR streaming. So far it seems to have delivered on 1 aspects, maybe 1.5. I did see someone in the comments say black level did improve so I'd have to check out some more reviews on that aspect. I doubt it'd be enough of an improvement to make me consider buying one, but it's always good to be informed. MRTV also mentioned nothing about the brightness and claimed the displays are exactly the same, but official statement was that brightness improved by like 20 or 25%, so that contradicts and at least warrants some further research.
@@thenonexistinghero oh yeah I've tried the display at an exhibition and they're definitely 1.4 or 1.8 times better than the original release that I own.
Good review. It would have been even nicer if you had taken the time to see if you could make the leg motion trackers work on the Quest 3 and how hard or easy it was to do so. Maybe an idea for a future episode.
Just asking! what was your face interface third party for the pico 4, I couldn't see it on Amazon It would be a great help sir! awesome info on the new pico 👍👍👍👍
I like the balanced weight of the pico 4. I wanted to get the ultra instead of my quest 3 especially due to the superior binocular overlap. Too bad the no 120hz is a deal breaker.
Thanks for posting such an in-depth review and so quick. It's a shame we got this instead of the Pico5 which would've been incredible, what a missed opportunity the Ultra is, I was ready to jump ship but the Quest3 will remain king for another 2 years.
How about using it with a hdmi capture card - Reason: Looking for a headset that I can connect to my Xbox hdmi output and later when/if I'll decide it's worth it invest in a gaming pc use it for full blow VR. Should be able to do sim racing for me to enter the the VR hardware world. The quest 3 does that great from what I can tell, but there's nearly no info out there if the Pico can compete on this. What's your take on it?
I'm guessing if they had changed the opticals, it would have been the Pico 5. But the lack of general improvement means we get another edition of the Pico 4.
Thank you for the review. I would like to upgrade my Pico 4, which is a great product btw, but it looks like I will have to wait for something else. No signifact PC vr update here.
Hardware means NOTHING if software is poop. Nothing can compare to Meta Store - I am in Canada and in 2022 I imported a Pico 4 and loved it but store was a joke. I kept it 4 weeks before reverting to Quest 2 (back then).
4 weeks? How big do you think the library of the Quest was 4 weeks after it's release. I'm talking about the Oculus Quest. Did you really expect to have even half of the games in just four weeks? And would you buy and play all games? The Pico4 library has grown immensely.
meta store is run by the same company that has deleted previous oculus accounts with everything purchased on them. So even without the other issues (its facebook in short trousers...) the shop is completley irrelevant for me. Maybe a 5$ game in a sale but nothing beyond. Its unlikely that Steam will pull a stunt like that.
i was expecting new lenses too, maybe even 1080p micro oled which already goes above 50ppd like on those new AR glasses. Not getting it just because of the lenses
@@tonypaca3015Those AR headset micro OLEDs are usually 16:9, so you'd either be looking at like 100deg horizontal at ~19.2 PPD or 100deg vertical at around ~10.8ppd.
What I'm excited about is the motion trackers, and its ability to track external object. I'm making a sports game side project so hopefully it can be attached to a racket or sth
Honestly. The glare is not really an issue. Just turn the brightness down a little from the default and you're good to go. That said, not updating the optical stack is quite a disappointment. And I certainly won't upgrade my p4 to this.
To my eye the displays look quite a bit better. Brighter, clearer, better colour and deeper blacks. I've been using it for a few months. He's had it for a few hours.
Enable 3D Capture Mode: In the Quick Settings menu, activate the passthrough mode to start recording a video in 3D. Capture the Video: Once passthrough mode is enabled, you can record your surroundings in a stereoscopic 3D format.
@@mixedrealityTV There is no option to enable a 3D capture mode in Quick settings, at least as of v68 of the OS. The only option I've found was using adb commands through Sidequest, but these reset after the headset is rebooted.
@@MobileDecay I wonder if it's a PTC thing. I can't be bothered with that as the Quest OS has been dodgy enough in the past and I've got over 100 apps installed. I can't be bothered having to reinstall everything if I get a broken beta.
A pet peeve of mine is companies that keep using AA batteries in controllers. At least use a rechargeable battery that could be taken out if needed. I don’t want to see normal AA batteries in 2024.
@@SuperDre74 it’s not the same. I want a battery that can be charged while it’s in the headset and it should enable charging out of the headset via a usb c connection when necessary. I want the ability to charge via USB c without taking my controller apart especially as it has protective cover on it. The controller should also have the option to take the batteries out if needed for quick swap and charge them separately via a usb c connection. AA battery charging is pretty annoying and cumbersome and the battery life is atrocious at best. Taking batteries out all the time is inconvenient for me as I have to remove the protective cover on the controller which fits in tightly.
Offers nothing over my Quest 3. Should have had new features that were 50% better than the Quest. It simply makes sense to buy the Quest with all the software and support for Steam games etc. If you are a software developer who are you going to write for ?

You can buy a 128 Q3 for less money, and add a betterStarp. You can also buy an old Pico 4 with Bobo Srap, and cost you less money again, for the same expérience at the end.
@@CoreGamingProject I have the Bobo strap for the Quest 3. It brings the weight over 800g. But it does help. However, the Pico 4 with the AMVR halo strap was INSANELY comfortable in a way the Quest 3 could NEVER be. Trust me, I literally have a collection of about 12 different straps.
@@CoreGamingProject I don't use the facial interface. I use a halo strap without it. I don't disagree though, although the Pico 4 optics weren't BAD, the Quest 3 optics are unmatched for clarity. Also, there is much less outside reflection on the Quest 3 lenses compared to Pico 4. At the end of the day though, it's a balance between features that are important to you. I have some arthritis in my neck, so I put weight and balance above all else. That's not necessarily true for everyone though, of course.
@raeldor Well, I just press a button in an app that I sideloaded, but I'm not defending saying it's an official feature when it's not. I'm just pointing out that it's possible if it would help you.
@@CoreGamingProject I actualy purchased the Beam Pro (just the android device, not the headset) for taking 3D video. It's pretty good. Looking forward to seeing how it looks on the Pico. I'm hoping their software does similar to the Apple software for playback and adjusts the 3D image based on your head location while watching the video. It's a very clever algorithm and there's nothing like it on the Quest 3 I've seen yet.
Amen. I'm still amazed about how much all the games improve with the Optimizer. The textures are still quite simple in comparison to PCVR (we can't change that) but the overall clarity is almost like using it for PCVR.
Not to mention i was hoping this headset should include face tracking devices, eye and mouth. Pico Pro has it. Now it has not it built-in, so there are no much other ways than less comfy Quest Pro with slight lower resolution and it cannot do MR. The option for Pico Pro stays open as long future has no better options. I guess i stay with Q3 and wait for 3rd party solutions for Q3. I know there is company is planned to make an add-on module for Q3. Since i owned already P4 and use it most time PCVR, there is no need for Ultra version. It's just same visuals and same comfort. Also i own Q3 already, no need to get Ultra.
No sidequesting right? S you can't get any Team Beef stuff on there , can you? Not that I care, no need to get this as I have a Q3 which is perfect for now
Lack of displayport connectivity is a nono for me, as someone who uses psvr almost exclusively displayport is a must. I already own a pico 4 and my son has a quest 3 so I wont be upgrading anytime soon.

You matched very good the tittle, they are stuck in 2022.. this should have been the meta quest 3 killer, instead of that, they made the same product with some improvements but still behind in other aspects isn't a clear upgrade to the quest 3.. how they justify the price at 600€???

Pricing is for China.. Ultra will be even more expensive in Europe. No one will pay double for the same pico4 with just more ram and 3D cameras that still look so bad.
Nope the 599 is the europe price including vat. 699 excluding vat is for the ultra enterprise version (only difference as far as I know the the frontplate and license agreements/software).
@@KoRNeRd yeah, like the Q3 had so many games at release that made use if the new SOC, it also took some months before more games were updated to use the better SOC. But yes, the smaller library if games and apps sure isn't in favor of the Pico 4 (ultra), but go be honest, the virtual monitor usage of the Ultra would be something that would interest me in buying an Ultra. Like i said, i do like pico. I use mine a lot. Really good for non VR things. Thats not the point to a vr headset though. So they will make less money.
Bad resolution in late 2024 + no Oled + disappointing OS = rubbish I have the Quest 3 and AVP, I am waiting for a headset the combines the AVP hardware with the Windows compatibility of the Quest 3.
I expect that the software will evolve a lot, i think this headset is just a stop gap device that enables them to develop the software into a new direction with the better AR capabilities. And the next headset is going to be the true upgrade. This is probably why they went with the higher RAM config, so they can develop the software so that it will be ready for the next device.

Pico is underrated, the Pico 4 was better than the Quest 2, now again the Pico 4 Ultra is better than the Quest 3 after using it for two weeks, I should know I've had all of them and now selling my Quest 3! The Pico user operating system is far better than the Quest, also I got fed up of all the damn software bugs on both the Quest headsets especially the Quest 3, I've literally no issues with both Pico headsets. By the way the Apple system costs $1500-2000....I don't think so.
I returned my pico4 because of differences in the black levels between the left eye and right eye, awful when playing dark scenes. What about the pico 4 ultra?
Yeah well it seems my hopes are gone... I will have to stick with the damn quest 3 and get a pro controllers since tracking just sucks big time in the up side with quest 3, even quest 2 tracking is better and pico 4 tracking is superior and almost as good as pro tracking was... And yes I owned the pro what I sent back because beside the tracking was a trash, I do use pico 4 for competitive or games where a good tracking is mandatory (quest3 tracking SUCKS) and the quest 3 for work since the image is by far superior.

The fact they cut it out on pico 4 was more to do with cost cutting I think. Bad decision, as it removed a big reason for buying it for some.
@@SETHalpine if the screens are actually different and better, with more contrast, that would make me buy it to try. Pico 4 looked very washed out to me.

2:14 - That's actually not true, if its like the original Pico 4 which I own then I can tell for sure that it wasn't that balanced on my head, it was still tending to be heavier on the front part of it so I felt it on my nose and it was not comfortable, what fixed it for me was to buy BoboVR batteries which adds extra rear weight that does finally fix the frontal heavy weight issue once and for all and so now it's really comfortable (also since I bought the GeekVR face pads for it as well).
The clarity of the pixels is way more important than the resolution, just see photos from a 10 mp full frame nikon and compare to a 100 mp smartphone :)
What's the point of releasing a device with crappy screens and 2022 lenses if Pico had enough time after the Quest 3 launched to realize that the Pico 4 Ultra would be a flop because it couldn't compete with the Quest 3 in quality of images?
Poor decisions by Pico, not many Pico4 owners will upgrade therefore they are looking for new buyers and are competing directly with Quest3. They really needed to upgrade the visuals without that I wont be upgrading. A Display Port would be great but I think all manufactures are moving away from that because of the cost. So here is is, my full review of the Pico 4 Ultra! What are your thoughts about the headset? Are you going to pick it up? And what do you think about the motion trackers?
I'm keeping my old Pico 4 and holding out for significantly higher PPD. The pass through sounds good though. Maybe it would be worth it if it had eye tracking support for PCVR.
That microphone quality is kind of insane what the hell? Where did that came from
Yeah right? What a surprise!
They should have included eye & face tracking from the Pro, with those trackers it would have been a popular option for social VR.
Odd pro series is better than ultra 😂
from consumer standpoint makes sense but from pico perspective they make money selling games so just increases costs as social vr makes them $0
social vr is a tiny niche within a niche, makes no sense for cost increase
@@Rlmfx everything in VR is niche in a niche
@@Nobody-Nowhere most people play games or sim, mrtv even did a poll recently, very small percent were interested in social vr. No way a company like pico would add expensive eye tracking, jack up the price hundreds of dollars more, for a small niche within VR. Even less would buy the headset at that higher price.
I'm glad to see Pico back in the game. However, if you want to dethrone the king, it's not enough to be almost as good, or even as good. You have to be better. I think a display port connection would have been a big plus.
They don't want to give you dp because they want you to buy from their store games that are neither optimized nor any good.
still a joke
Display port wouldn’t be enough either, i think eye tracking could have done it tho
@@KoRNeRd They could have give both pcvr and standalone version for each apps people bought in their store and it would be far better than buying it on steam store
When I heard you talk about the mura also wanted to mention that my quest three has it so it’s not just a pico problem
Yes, I said that in my review as well. But it's not as big of a problem like on Pico.
If pico 4 ultra has local dimming lcd with displayport, pretty much every Quest pc vr gamers gonna buy it over Quest 3. Im surprised they didnt upgrade face cushion after all complaints from users.
The colours are still bad though, they need to improve that and the OS isn’t so great
exactly, looks like they are just trying to get rid of the old hardware and shutting up shop
You are suprised by idiocy?
I love so much how in depth you go with the explanations as compared to other comparison videos
Thanks! That's MRTV!
I need display port... All i have to say
I never want to see another LCD screen ever again. OLED is a must from now on.
Exactly and I also don’t want to see pixels in late 2024
Agreed. LCD is not VR.
The Crystal light is decent but Pimax are so bad at QC
Varjo Vr or Xr4 whatever it’s called is too expensive for what it is.
Which one is better for watching movies? Quest 3 have a big screen player like pico 4 have?
@@aboulkhassimismail6237 Quest 3 seems to have better colors. Pico has more comfort.
They really should have gone for a Pico 5 though and leapfrogged over Quest 3.
is the glare less noticeable and the image sharper with amvr?
@@Mandarynkowy_Dym It's no different. The glare is from the display, not light leakage (but it's good at blocking light leakage anyway).
Hows the battery life btw?
You were truly a champion in the full-body tracking demonstration part of the video.
Game time.
I think the same for me too,
Maybe eye tracking could have made me pull the trigger on the upgrade
The motion trackers do not work on the Quest 3 for sure.
When you switched to the Pico 4 mic, my dog looked up. Weird!
Also, Keychron keyboard? Love them :D
Just asking! what was your face interface third party for the pico 4, I couldn't see it on Amazon
It would be a great help sir! awesome info on the new pico 👍👍👍👍
It's from AMVR! I made a video about it. Look for Pico 4 headstrap. It's not just the facial interface.
16:15 - _[mic]_ - oh... that's really nice!
I'm guessing if they had changed the opticals, it would have been the Pico 5. But the lack of general improvement means we get another edition of the Pico 4.
Very thorough review. Well Done

The Pico4 library has grown immensely.
don't it is a mistake
meta store is run by the same company that has deleted previous oculus accounts with everything purchased on them.
So even without the other issues (its facebook in short trousers...) the shop is completley irrelevant for me. Maybe a 5$ game in a sale but nothing beyond.
Its unlikely that Steam will pull a stunt like that.

@@mixedrealityTV did you actually try installing any apps from an app store? They're not currently working on the Ultra.
All 10 models of Pico 4 I have tried have had pretty much the same lenses, haven’t been any issues except ghosting and wobbly corners
add chapters to your video
Yeah well it seems my hopes are gone... I will have to stick with the damn quest 3 and get a pro controllers since tracking just sucks big time in the up side with quest 3, even quest 2 tracking is better and pico 4 tracking is superior and almost as good as pro tracking was... And yes I owned the pro what I sent back because beside the tracking was a trash, I do use pico 4 for competitive or games where a good tracking is mandatory (quest3 tracking SUCKS) and the quest 3 for work since the image is by far superior.
The title totally contradicts the video lol.
Why do you think do?
Have you seen his kung fu skills😂?
eh not very exciting. Still the PSVR2 is the most exciting for me for the price right now.
But it has a cable, so a big nono for me.
@@SuperDre74 That cable is for the display port, which a lot of us PCVR gamers were hoping for 🙄. You know, flowless image transfer without compression artifacts and added latency....The PSVR2 is looking better and better now, if they improve the PC connectivity aspect, I might upgrade from my Pico 4. Otherwise I'm still waiting for a worthy upgrade.
@@ArmandQ. But I favor no cable over slightly better visuals. I really hated the cable with my Vive Pro, even using a pulleysystem. But I don't much sitting games. If I was using it primarily for racing/flyingsims I probably wouldn't mjnd the cable.
This is why I always love my quest 3. Best headset for the price period 😃
Such a shame that they didn't switch to micro OLED, like the Bigscreen Beyond, for 2024 worthy quality imagines to beat the Quest 3.
Agreed. But those displays are way more expensive !
@mixedrealityTV at the moment micro OLED is a bit more expensive, but the price is coming down as the technology becomes more mainstream, and the more money invested in/competition in micro OLED, the cheaper and better it will become.
Instead of saying f.ex. one thousand nine hundred twenty say nineteen twenty, it sounds more fluent, and your video gets 50% shorter ;P
What a sad update. I suppose they did get rid of most of their staff in VR so what did we expect.
this is disappointing, was hoping the 'colour correction' would at least improve contrast and black levels. If they had put better quality LCDs in and displayport, it would have done so well. As it stands it looks like they're just trying to sell off old hardware at this point. Also no batman game coming, unoptimised game res's, hard sell
Same specification, but not the same LCD panels...Some users speak about improvement.
The supplier has probably improved its screens in production
This Ultra , it just there in order to maintain Pico at its first place in the China market....
You've to wait for their "Swan project"....
There is a wait-and-see attitude in the VR market, with unfortunately component prices increasing.
Personally I would have bought it, for spatial video recording, but the resolution offered by the capabilities of the XR2, is too low.
Too bad they did not plan to use the power of the PC to obtain a recording close to 4k by eye...
DP1.4...is dead for VR...You've to pay for the cable AND for the additional video controller!
DP2.1 are only available on AMD graphic card ...and DP2.1 vidéo controller are expensive and rare ( isn't it Pimax!?) only brand as Samsung Displays has such controller (and they'll keep it for their screen and probably for their own VR device...) *
Pico should use USB-C is better, you can have really good video streaming ( but limited if you use a poor chipset as XR2...) or "direct" video because, USB-C support display port Virtual mode...and has a good bandwidth in 3.2/4 version...( Forget USB 3.0 and prefer 3.2)
Pico and Meta doesn't want to add a chipset to improve the XR2...
And they don't use DP because they want to sell apps...and autonomous game ( with the bad streaming decoding capacity of XR2...) and DP... Always means SteamVr....so no money for them.
So stop to dream about DP....Added to this, people want wireless device...
*Even Pimax will use massive compression (not regular 3:1 ratio with DSC ) on their next Super headset...cause they're unable to buy a DP2.1 controller
@@SETHalpine having displayport wouldn't damage games sales much, people will always buy the stand alone games for wireless or when travelling. But DP gives a much better signal for things like sims and games too powerful for mobile. They already did this with the Neo3, so at some point realised it was a good idea.
The fact they cut it out on pico 4 was more to do with cost cutting I think. Bad decision, as it removed a big reason for buying it for some.
@@SETHalpine if the screens are actually different and better, with more contrast, that would make me buy it to try. Pico 4 looked very washed out to me.
Really wtf matter about the booting logo, i think no one care....
That was just an example to let you know that nothing had changed with display and lenses. That's the problem. Thanks for watching and commenting.
The logo is where you immediately see the ghosting, I really hoped it was gone and the image was sharper, seeing the well known logo ghosting is making me reconsider buying the ultra and just live with my my good old model
Are you single? 😌👀
PICO 4 ULTRA is Quest 3 Killer
Cool!
Transleit in spanish subtitles
2160px LCD = doa its simply not enough in 2024 😢
It's the same as the Quest 3 isn't it?
Lenses not as good. But binocular overlap better and strap better. So it depends what you are looking for.
There is a wait-and-see attitude in the VR market, with unfortunately component prices increasing.
The clarity of the pixels is way more important than the resolution, just see photos from a 10 mp full frame nikon and compare to a 100 mp smartphone :)
No Display Port. No thanks.
I don't mean the Port cost but the DP cable they are expensive to manufacture and a point of failure. However maybe they could add the port and let owners buy there own cable.
Yeah, tough to understand some of the decisions, really. Anyways, it is good that Pico is at least still in the game!

earphones 3.5 jack? No...
The Oculus Quest 3 is the king.
What an idiot mistake to not update the visuals on their ultra. All your changes come to nothing.
the XR2 chip can't deal with more pixels. as long as it's a standalone it can't get higher than that. unless you're apple and design your own chips
The quest 3 has sharpness all around, Pico sadly did not upgrade the lenses to also be sharp in the edges, has nothing to do with chip
if there was anything blatantly ripping off another product its pico
If you actually look at their company history you will see they were the first to come up with a Standalone headset. Quite interesting how wrong one can be.
