    I seriously dont see the point in sentencing people to at least 130 years

  • @arlenewitt248
    @arlenewitt248 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +17

    Please keep in mind most states have the concept of good time credits ranging from 15% to 50% if a defendant behaves him/herself in prison. This means s/he won’t actually serve the full sentence unless s/he misbehave and has additional time added to his/her sentence because of poor conduct in prison. What this means is that someone sentenced to 30 years in prison, is given good time credits for the time s/he spent in their county jail waiting for trial, going through trial and being sentenced in addition to the actual time served waiting for these events to occur. This is deducted from the defendant’s sentence prior to him/her arriving in state prison. Once the person arrives in state prison, if s/he behave him/herself, s/he could be eligible for additional good time credits, probably even greater than what s/he received while in the county jail. S/he may only have serve 13 years or 14 years in state prison before s/he has served his/her full sentence. The defendant won’t even be on parole and have his/her conduct monitored by a parole officer if this occurs. So, bottom line, a prison sentence of 30 years for murdering someone is not that impressive. What you always want is LWOP = Life without parole. LWOP is even better than the death penalty, because it doesn’t carry all of the automatic appeal rights the death penalty grants. Plus, if the crime is particularly heinous there’s a good chance prison justice will occur where the prison inmates will enact their own form of justice.

    This reminds me of my 5-year-old cousin. The father killed his own son, while he was drunk driving. There were four people in the jeep two people were drunk and decided to go on a drive. Then I lost my five-year-old cousin that died and didn't live long. He meant so much to me, when I saw him for the last time. I was freaking out because he was so young that he got killed. He didn't live long. He loved Toy Story and Spiderman. When it was his funeral there was motorcycles with Toy Story and Spiderman. Now his father is in prison for the 3d times. At least I made a song for him. ♥♥♥♥ Angles will guide whoever they trust. May god bless you!♥♥♥♥

    I find the Chris Watts case particularly chilling. This man was so normal appearing in all ways, and no one had any idea he was capable of murdering not only his pregnant wife, but his two young daughters. It is inconceivable to me that anyone could be so cold-blooded, all for the sake of an affair he was having with another woman. Why would anyone choose murdering their whole family over simply telling his wife he wanted out of the marriage? I suppose he didn't want the complications in remaining indebted with alimony payments and visitation to his children? But the alternative was horrific. Truly a sick, sick man.
