I agree about the constant instability. It's nowhere near like that on a real bike. You can modulate the throttle as little or as much as you need, it's not like it's on or off. Having raced around Donington on 1000cc bikes a few times I know from experience that you can be doing 40mph or 140mph yet still be able to twist the throttle without the back constantly stepping out. Also the sounds seem to be very similar to a vacuum cleaner like it is in all Milestone games.

You're totally right Alan. It's the first thing I sais to myself, "This is not showcasing the game in a positive light AT ALL!". It looks like someone who's never played the game and has no clue how to control the bike is playing! Like you said, the minute he/she is on the power the bike starts to get away from him/her. Not exactly the way to show off your game,, with amateur gameplay? Not great.

Yes, they make it look like the throttle is just an on/off switch. Having played the previous editions, i am sure it isn’t, but the player really makes it look like it.

I have played previous games, i can tell you that this is just an amature player. What i am looking at is the same as ride 3 which was solid but very little improvments to presentation and physics, hopefully the ai is better than ride 3 hard to tell from this video but they do look less agressive in a good way. It was frustrating listening to the commentator talk about the rider playing instead of the game, makes him sound amature and he should not be, been doing this for years, i just above made better insight into this game than him.

Alan I have emailed the developers of Ride 4 twice concerning the handling of the bikes telling them that it is almost impossible to nail an apex, something so essential in racing. They have two months to fix this and I don't even know if they're going to do it. What I do know for sure is that I like to race with a lot of precision. I've always been like that and I'll always be like that.

Does anyone else notice the fact the bike doesn't turn/lean on it's contact patch, but pivots left and right around an axis running through it's centre, front to back? If you watch the video at 0.25 speed you can clearly see when leaning left the tyres slide laterally to the right and vise-versa.

That's how a real bike maneuvers.

Yep, standard rubbish bike physics seen in all MotoGP and Ride games so far. They just don't get it

Note to every developer out there: Sunsets are ugly and they make the games look much worse than they really are. Do not show sunset gameplay. This obsession with low-hanging suns should really go away. Show the games in midday sunlight. This again looks as if a yellow-brown filter was applied to the video. Aesthetically bad.

I'm not too worried about the bikes stability at the moment, considering how many times they updated the physics in GP20 and constantly improved it to what it feels like now (assuming they will do the same here)
My concern at the moment is the game graphically, I don't know if it's just me or maybe the time of day they chose to race in but it looks kind of dull and identical to Ride3. GP20 looks so nice, it would be a shame for this game to not at the very least look AS GOOD as GP20 graphically. The sunset background and lighting is so boring, why would they not race in a bright sky for their first official gameplay video, even a night race would of been better

    Agree with you Alan.
It just poses more questions than it reveals really. Does the player gain the ability to tune/upgrade their bike in order to get it to handle better on a given track? Is that kind of handling bike specific or a trait of other bikes in the same class? Can the bike be riden on a better line with practice?
Maybe the studio will release a more informative video?

I know it's not your video mate but that view doesn't show us anything. If they're gonna use 3rd person, at least tilt the horizon

I think it's looking good from what I can see, would prefer on bike footage as I cannot stand playing in 3rd person. Agree that whoever was playing either isn't able (physics wise) or doesn't know how to hit the apexes. Hopefully we will get some more in depth footage from other views in the coming weeks. I still love Ride 3 so looking forward to this. Just hope the bikes feel a bit more 'alive' in this one as in Ride 3 I think they are too forgiving.

Honestly it looks like the tester was just not very good or simply rusty. I think they really should spin-off Ride into an open world like Forza Horizon and leave the tracks to their MotoGP game, which handles quite well (but on your first few laps you'll probably miss a few apexes).

Unlikely to happen, the financial resources to develop a title like that to a high quality would be huge and it wouldn't sell enough to recoup the expenditure.

Not feeling Ride 4 at all. I have ride 2 and 3. Why would I want 4? I don't see what extra ride 4 brings to the table.

Probably showcasing everything in a brief video.. it's not how good they are at the game it's how the game should look like.

  • @Anyonewhos
    @Anyonewhos 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

It really does fail here.. just ride 3 with a coat of paint. Basically a couple new tracks and a couple of new bikes plus the ability to paint your leathers. It's not exactly what the fans asked for is it? I know they can't please everyone but at least try fix the biggest issue

Milestone have a strange habit of showcasing their upcoming games using a player that appears to have little idea of what their doing. It would makes sense to show the game at its best but for some reason they persist in showing off the games’ short comings 🤷🏼‍♂️
