In high school (1983) my dad helped me take apart a 1953 VW engine and clean it and reassemble it, I put in a 1963 VW that he had and I drove for the last year in school, then my best friend and I after graduation drove it from South Carolina to Key West after graduation, 3 days after we gat back the motor blew going to the store. It was fun times.
