I first bought an 18amp deep cycle battery which was small and very light but gave 2 hours on low speed (1) and 1 hour on high speed (2). I wanted to be on the river much longer so got this prorider 55amp deepcycle battery which gives 7 hours at low speed and just under 4 hours at high speed. Its never ran out of charge when I've been out. I usually go at high speed ( that's only about 2.5mph ) for a 3 hour round trip as that's usually long enough for me....the only problem is the bigger the battery the heavier the weight. The 55amp is 16kg so I don't like to carry it too far to the waters edge from the car.....enjoy your boating...its fabulous low cost fun...remember to take the wine, beer, lay back and chill...:)
@@EagleUkes Thanks heaps, was trying to find info on speed and power draw and this reply had more useful info than the manufacturer and the rest of the internet combined.
Quick question I've just recieved my battery for my motor. Do I need a battery box to put it in before I take it on the boat or is it ok to just put the battery itself on the boat?
Hi Luke...I just mine on a car floor mat which works well or sometimes just on top the heavy duty bag I carried the boat it...not a good idea to place it directly on the bottom section of the boat...:)
Mine is a Pro rider 55 amp deep cycle battery ( weighs 16kg so heavy ) but this is the closest I can find now for you....:) www.proridermobility.com/catalog/product/view/_ignore_category/1/id/94/s/pro-rider-12v-50ah-agm-battery/

Mine seems to jump out of that retaining ring..:(
Could you help me out? Looking at buying this but curious about how long does that battery last? Did you ever run it out? Thanks :)

Did you say 1 hour Cruise at speed 2 with a 55 Ah battery?
Do your 3 blue LED lights always stay on? Ours do. Just wondering.
Mine stay on all the time but reduce down to two then one light as the battery charge reduces.
What battery did you buy for the motor any chance of sending a link

hi do you need a licence to go on the river?
Hi Josh...I don't think you need a license to go on the river Tees but any boat with a motor on should have boat insurance.
@@EagleUkes ok im going to have the same setup as yourself how much was your insurance?
@@joshcarra2152 ...to be honest Josh I've not got round to sorting that out yet....
