This summer, I saw this song on spotify, and was I so glad to find it. I listened to it while doing homework with my cousin beside me, the window was on, and the wind was so refreshing. The meaning behind this video reminds me of my ex-best friend who died two days ago and this hits me hard inside like I've lost a part of me. Great music video! it seems that joji's life purpose on this MV was to fight the one eyed villain, but the time when he accidentally 'defeated/killed' the villain he lost his pupose. The meaning behind this video reminds me of my ex-best friend who died two days ago and this hits me hard inside like I've lost a part of me.

it seems that joji's life purpose on this MV was to fight the one eyed villain, but the time when he accidentally 'defeated/killed' the villain he lost his pupose. He was demotivated, and can no longer find joy in things. So the other guy, who cared for him, sacrificed himself to be the new one eyed villain for Joji to find his light again.

I think it could have been improved if the second to last shot was the last shot of the actual video where George smiles, than a shot of the other guy who gouged his eye out smiling. That would have really pointed out the harmony between the two that they’re right now fighting but the guy is still friends with George. That would have made a really powerful impact. Just a constructive criticism it’s a beautiful video executed amazingly but that extra 2 second shot would have really affected me personally.
