Bún riêu tôm khô (Hẻm 209) - My first time trying Bun Rieu like this. I was amazed how delicate it was and really enjoyed it with the dried little shrimp a lot more than I thought I would!

Huhuhu. Tui ở Bình Dương mà xa quá, hông lẽ ăn tô bún chạy tới Sài Gòn 😅, thèm quá.
Tôi nhớ khoảng năm 2000.Tôi có ăn bún riêu tôm khô ở góc Nguyễn tri Phương + Hùng Vương Q5.Trước cửa nhà sách.Quán chủ yếu bán sau 17h chiều khi nhà sách đóng cửa,quán bán rất ngon,khách tới ăn là tự động đến ngay chỗ chị bán để lấy,chứ họ không bưng ra.Có khi không có bàn để ngồi,khách phải ngồi chồm hổm để ăn.Sau chỗ đó họ không cho bán ở vỉa hè nữa.Dời về đâu cũng không biết luôn.Mình còn nhớ họ bán 1 tô chỉ 3-4k đồng ở thời điểm đó.
Giọng cô là 54,nghe rất hay

Mình sống ở TPHCM và dù ăn bún, phở mỗi ngày nhưng xem videos của Max lúc nào cũng gợi lên cơn thèm các món Việt
Cách nói chuyện của cô là biết người sai gon cũ rất lịch sự nhẹ nhàng

@@SimpleX84mình có mấy người cô Bắc 54. Họ cũng nói tròn vành rõ chữ ntn. Chắc đây là giọng gốc của ng Việt xưa, hầu như chuẩn như âm mình viết lun ấy.

Thật bất ngờ khi bạn biết quán này. Quán này là quán bún riêu ngon nhất mình từng ăn. Và mình thích câu nói của bạn, đơn giản nhưng rất chất lượng.

Bắc 75 nghe họ nói là biết ngay cho dù họ có vào nam sinh sống nhưng tính cách khác xa bắc 54.

I love your videos, Max! It seems that not many people understand when you ask the question 4:42. I think you should use this structure in order to get your question across : " Tại sao *Subject lại chọn bán *Noun mà không phải *Noun " . For example : "Tại sao cô lại chọn bán bún riêu tôm mà không phải bún riêu bình thường ?" . I am not trying to find fault with your Vietnamese, just want your question to be understood, wish you the best ! And forgive my broken English ❤️

Very sweet lady who took good care of you by helping you season your food properly. Her family has to come from the north based upon the way she spoke and her use of the qu sounds (southerners switch qu for the w sound). She also used cinnamon sausage, which is a very northern thing (aside from the fact bun rieu is from the north). LOL

What I love about Bun Rieu is the nostalgia it brings of growing up in NJ. Haha yes NJ. My grandmother was italian and made crab gravy every summer with blue crabs. Crab flavor, tomato flvaor, when I have bun rieu for the first time it brought me right back!!

I think her family came from the North in 1954 after the division of VN in two different states North and South because she still has the pre-war Northern accent . The Bun Rieu made of dry shrimps is cheaper and easier to make than the traditional Crab Bun Rieu . Next time you should try the Banh Gio and Banh Dây with Cha Que , Cha Chien or Gio Lua . Those two breakfast cakes are originally from the North . There is a very famous shop selling those stuffs in Ben Thanh market since 1954-1955 named Co Tâm .
How do you know? My grandpa sounded like her but he migrated since 1930s. My mum sounds mix of with mild northern accent. Maybe her family is also migrated before in 1930s?
@@damiann4734 Her old Northern accent tells it all . She still has a pure pre-war Northern accent . Not many Northerner's descendants from before 1954 can still speak with that pure traditional Northern accent , for example your mother like you said .
@@hungcuongnguyen293 yes, why do you call it pure pre-war northern accent? Where does the new accent come from? I know there is a distinction between those 2 accents but don't understand why it is separated by time but not by region or cultural groups.

Oh boy, claiming for northerners because something is good. Actually, her accent is really educated Saigonese. Proper pronunciation and enunciation have nothing to do with northerners but rather central (Hue .)

Oh yeah I ate at this place 30 years when the mother was the one that sat there. Now is the daughter!I love this place. They are Bắc Kỳ 54 (very different from BK 75 that they escaped the Communist from the Operation to Freedom Geneva 1954)!

Have you ever tried Canh bún? It look like bún riêu but the noodle is bigger and you eat together with boiled spinach. It really good.
Max ơi, chả là tùy mình thích loại nào thì ăn loại đó, không nhất thiết phải ăn hết cả 3 loại cùng lúc , thông thường là ăn 1 miếng, như vậy giá là 27k +8K= 35k, còn bình dân nữa thì 27k là ngon rồi

Is tom kho cheaper? Because one bowl and 3 of sausage is only 51k. I guess her customers are the average blue colar vietnamese. Bun Rieu is one of those dishes where the vegetarian version is alot better than the original. Prawn is good too, it has a lot of sweetness and umami. I prefer tamarind over lime for Bun rieu.
