I am blown away by this new knowledge! This also explains why using a fire beam on an airless ship can fairly consistently do 1 system damage if you sweep across 3 tiles. Knowing the impossibility of fire spreading for airless rooms will be really useful!
This is really interesting. My way of dealing with this would have been to just keep replaying until I get a free Engi crewmember in Sector 1. #rogueworldproblems
I find it odd that level 1 doors and destroyed doors don't make a difference in fire spreading. Is venting to doors worse or better than the baseline of not pre-venting? If a fire starts in doors, it's vented and it will go out. But if it starts in oxygen you have a problem... and in the baseline case you could have just manned the doors and let the fire burn itself out while having enough air to repair.

Always more to learn!

With no venting, a fire in doors becomes a problem too.
Do open doors count as having no doors in between tiles?
Yes, they are the same.
Nerd
Awwww thanks. This is like being called "Your Majesty" by the Queen.
What about people who repeatedly comment within hours of release, are they also nerds?
@@ThomasPettersson In the industry, we call this Nerdception.
