I prefer the alternative version without the Jack Harlow verse.
I don't dislike it, I just love hearing more of JK's voice. This song is a banger either way. Love it!

I am you! My very reaction...loved the whole song until Jacks part. I actually expected not to like it and that it would make me raise my eyebrows because I have very low expectations from western rap. I’ve never been a fan of rap ...only appreciated it with BTS...but I do hear snippets of it here and there and it’s just not my thing. So I wasn’t sure if it’s actually good for the genre.
When I got to Twitter and saw the controversy I listened to it again to understand what he was actually saying after I made a bit of research about some terms he used. My conclusion is it’s not misogynistic and it actually is about his own transformation from being a whoring type of guy and now quite into a girl he has long distance relationship with. He wants to see her in person and what I like about it is he will respect her decision on where the relationship goes. So in the end I kinda like it now.
I did watch quite a bit of reactions to this to see what people who know him or into the genre thinks...I’ve seen some fans of Jack really love it some feel it was rather weak and some who truly just found his flow and rhymes a bit lame. So your reaction is truly quite typical of what’s our there....that’s fine!
What I find sad is the people who are hating on Jk or Jack or those people who are hating on others who didn’t like it or those that loved it. My thoughts on this is, first, Army is not the target market for this...JK is on a mission to get more exposure and acceptance in Western market where this feature will be most appreciated. I think it’s a brilliant strategy. Second...as you pointed out he is not an innocent teen anymore. He has been showing this more rebel style since he started getting his tattoo...he made a whoLe sleeve to show the world his authentic self for years now. Finally...this is so JK...sexy, edgy but still showing respect and emphasizing consent in his lyrics.
I still like Seven more and lattos verses...but this is a great follow up. So excited for his album!

Idk about others, but after seven, I don’t see JK as a K-pop artist. He’s just an artist. And I’m 100% ok with explicit lyrics and features. I’m sick of the squeaky clean good boy image K-pop has. JK being a freak and not being shy about is great.

Yes, teens, his delusional young fans making him a cutie babying is ridiculous joke. If you see the fan base pages, immature teens writing Ff's about him, objectifying him cringe, forgetting he's a 26 year old man. He as an artist needs to come out of this bubble, diversify.

I personally feel that K-pop is now a bad label for his growth… He is a global artist.. not a niche. I need people to see him just the way people see Drake and Justin Bieber, not a guy from a “category”. Seriously Bad Bunny sings in language a lot of people don’t understand but still mainstream WHY NOT JK? The xenophobia needs to end!

I agree with you, please do not hesitate be honest. Another UTuber also said the same thing. I especially did not like “your pl**ing with yourself.” I love JK’s part, just JH does not fit in. Men don’t usually refer to themselves as whoring, that is a reference to Women. I guess we are shocked or perplexed because we Don’t hear lyrics like this from BTS, which honestly why I like them so much. Yes there are a few f words, past and present, but I would rather hear them than JH lines. I fully support JK and will continue to support him and the other Members of BTS. I never could understand why ARMY l wants BTS to have collars, I prefer BTS. 💜🫶

We do need honest reaction for sure, especially, if you are a fan. I think one should be able to voice his/her opinions whenever needed. And I don't think you are alone to feel that way toward some of the 'lyrics'. And here is my take on it.
If this was written by JK, then, my reaction would be different. But as we all know, this was written and produced by the same US producers who worked on Seven, and Jack H. I guess they thought this direction would make one stand out. But as you mentioned in your video, it is in a way, western, especially US, music industry's reality. You said it yourself- daily basis, you hear so much raunchier/explicit lyrics here. So, if one needs to break into this industry with a trendy song, it kind of comes it, I guess. Why can he just sing a 'regular' song, some might ask.
Well, they have been, but it didn't give them the level of recognition they deserved and rather constantly being used for other things and got disrespect in return in many occasions,
    as we all know.
So, here we go, fight the fire with fire then! Showing them it's done and will be done by JK, aggressively. By doing that, he's trying to change the perception, prejudice, and get back at all other non senses he's and his bros have been getting...and all this in ENGLISH!
God, how gutsy and sexy that is!!
And only 'excellence' can achieve that! Not everyone can do it even if they wanted to.
See what I am getting at? At first, of course, I was put off by the lyrics and all but right away I realized what the strategy could be behind all this. Can you kind of get it now? Hope so.
It is all strategically done. The fans should know better. This is not the matter of 'oh, JK has changed or is trying to be westernized ...- NO. He's still JK we all know. Watch his latest interview. So lovable. His eyes and mannerisms are still the same~~ He doesn't pretend.
The true fans really need to 'focus' on his artistry, how he's been working really hard mentally and physically, - dancing his sweat away to perfect rigorous new dance moves while singing in perfect pitch, acting, looking so stylish...not to mention mastering his English pronunciation - so right on !(Check out his performance video).
Again, when you really think about it, JK is doing this for Army and his BTS bros and further more, any future Korean singers who want to make it globally, especially in the US music industry. Still against all odds like way little exposure of radio air play (compared to other singers), antis attacks with their sharp paws on whenever they can and prejudice, racism, you name it. He was brave enough to do it fully and committed to do so. He accepted the challenge.
They need more than existing fans or newer female fans - they are also targeting to gain male fans and other public listeners, I think. For one thing, I see 'a lot' more 'male' and new reactors on youtube on JK songs lately for sure. It's working. One day (hope sooner), JK and BTS don't have to do all that but just sing whatever they want to do (sexy or wholesome) and still gain all the recognition they deserve and still tops the charts and just showcase all of their artistry as much as they want. Just 'Pure Win, Respect and Recognition' from other music industry and many many people in the world. Period. Because they deserve and they've been working hard at it and they also have been through so much unnecessarily left and right over the years. Because it will be a shame if this whole world didn't get to know them in a true sense, as we know them!
Besides, given JK's personality, I think he's really enjoying this challenge and whole process of it. I mean Korean stage became too small for him long time ago. He was getting really bored before...making ramyeon noodles and all.
This is it! He is flowing with the wave as his life opportunity was offered. And not many individual can live up to that. JK should've been up here long time ago.
What I do wish though is....he really needs a real great song whether it is ballad or what not for the next. I think these two songs are to grab people's attention, and he did. The final move should be 'grand' which can really 'maximize' all that he has as an artist. I really hope so. I don't care if it takes to change the producers...I mean, why not. (I am sure these two songs made them millions already.)
So, I want to leave with these words to some of the fans and army (don't care about Anties).
I want to believe Bang PD knows what he's doing (so does JK). I know Bang PD is a very very smart person. As BTS has showed us and proved us with so many things over the years (10 year and going), they have track records, substance. Get out of your 'entitlement' mentality and see it from the above, see the big picture. And support him JK madly!
It's a real shame that he needs to go to military soon. I gather he and the rest of mangnae line will join the military soon by the end of year, which only explains 2025 BTS timeline. He has to go to military at 26? What a huge waste? THAT I am so frustrated about, it is his prime age for god's sake.
I'm just going to pray for him that he and his other bros can return without any accident or issues from the military. Love always, JK!

It was cute how you were so careful in saying how you felt about Jack’s rap. I actually listen to this version more than the alternative one, which is without him, because I like Jack’s voice and flow. The choice of words could have been better but I took his first verse to be him outing himself as a once man-wh0re who behaved questionably with girls in the past. Second verse was him asking the girl he’s having a long distance thing with to meet him in person and give him a chance, with no obligations.

Yeah this is a pretty normal verse from Jack. He's known to be a very big flirt with men and women. I feel like he handled the verse pretty well and wasn't disrespectful. Like him saying "Okay now you're whoring" referring to himself being a whore not the girl. Jack's a pretty sweet guy in real life and I can understand why you feel that way if you don't really listen to Hip-Hop :)

yeah i feel like a looot of people misunderstood jack's verse completely and blew it out of proportion and it created a very nasty buzz which is honestly sad because he seemed so excited about this collab, he was dming army all day yesterday and being super nice and hyping jungkook and the fandom up :// personally i dont mind it and i feel it fits with the song (honestly after ive listened to 3d a couple of times i started seriously vibing to it, i know it by memory by now haha) but let me explain why i think its rlly not that bad considering hes an american rapper who raps mostly about sexual stuff:
in my opinion hes sort of bashing his own past self. he starts with "i'm on my jungkook" basically implying that jungkook can get any girl he wants and make them fall for him until he's the last guy they'll have and with those first lines jack says that he's now the same. the dead body line threw me off a bit on the first listen but tbh its just a "shocking" kinda morbid way of saying that his girl is so beautiful that his friends would drop everything to see her when he shows her off. and i think people were mostly upset by the "counting girls" part but jack is rapping all those lines in past tense, it literally starts with "used to". and he makes fun of himself for having multiple partners, he calls himself horny and a whore. it's all super corny, cheeky and very on brand for him so idk, i get why people could be shocked/uncomfortable or something but i really do think the outrage i saw online was mostly because people didnt expect any of that on a jungkook song even after seven

Described it perfectly, thank you. I hate people calling Jack Harlow's verse 'misogynistic" when it is very much not. Consent is also metioned throughout the song multiple times for ex: "So if you're ready, and if you'll let me" and "You don't gotta guarantee me nothing".

I'm not a prude and I don't care who or how many people someone is sleeping with, but I don't particularly want to hear about it. To me, it's less about what he's doing and more about the way Jack Harlow is talking about it. It comes across like he's bragging about all of the women that he's been with and that's a little offensive to me. I like the way his verse flows, but I really don't like the subject matter or the way he's talking about it. Because of that, I prefer the alternate version that doesn't have Jack Harlow in it at all. Lyrics are really important to me and if this wasn't a JK song, I wouldn't listen to it more than once. I'm not the kind of person to enjoy rapping along with a verse like that and that takes a LOT of the enjoyment out of the song for me. I love singing along with JK, though. It's just Harlow's verse that I don't like.

I am so with you on everything you said. I am also tired of people like myself, who didn't like the Jack Harlow parts, being accused of unable to see JK as a grown , sexual being. Absolutely not the case here. I am loving this version of the guys in chapter two...I actually found the version of them as young innocents a little weird..they are grown men as you said. What I disliked is the creepiness of JH's parts. They were both talking about the same things, but JK's lyrics were "if you're ready, and if you'll let me"...totally consensual between 2 adults...perfect. JH's lyrics almost made me feel like he was sharing nudes of some unconscious woman with his buddies. Maybe just my interpretation, but it felt creepy. I get that these are JKs choices and I will support him and stream the heck out of the song. Sonically, I absolutely love it. Thanks for reacting.

@@Nicole-wb1gq You could be 100% right about that. What was that line about? @blondie5240  ปีที่แล้ว +1

The difference for me and I can only speak for myself is that a specific line from JH triggered me and only I know why that is, so I didn't care for it.
If you're talking about me specifically expressing "complaints and discomforts" towards her I believe in my reaction for Seven I didn't even comment on Latto's verse at all. I didn't praise it or say that I didn't like it. It has nothing to do with her being a woman and that's honestly unfair to assume that.
If you're speaking generally about people not complaining about her verse or if it's because she's a woman, I can't speak for others, and I won't assume that of others. Opinions are subjective and if someone doesn't like it that's fine, and if they do like it that's fine too. Which is also what I said in this reaction. This was all my personal opinion and if someone has a differing opinion there is nothing wrong with that :)

I didn't do a good job wording that sentence for sure. I meant that I hear those types of songs daily being on the radio, and at work. I don't actively seek out that sort of music. But there is no way of you knowing that because I didn't explain that, so I apologize for that misunderstanding.
I did however state plenty of times that JK is a 26-year-old grown man and if he wants to make music like this, he has every right to and that at the end of the day it's just a song and it's not that serious. None of my "critiquing" was even about JK to begin with. The only things I didn't necessarily like were JH lines, and even then, I went on to say it's very possible I'm misunderstanding what he is saying.
However, the line "I've got you playing with yourself on camera" is a line that I don't like, and that's fine if people do like it! I could be interpreting it differently than others and that's alright, I just didn't care for it personally.
But the beauty of it is that there are so many different versions that everyone can enjoy this song in a way that they see fit :)
