Why is it more heartbreaking when it happens to you? Perhaps because it is so rare. African Americans take the lives of 1.5 innocent white Americans every single day in this country, so I guess we are all desensitized to that. Rip to all victims of targeted racial crime.

This happened with my great grandmother...when her daughter my granny died my family chose to not tell her because she was in her late 90s. But she knew...she knew because her daughter..my granny was there everyday to care for her.

I agree, in this case the 18 year old, a year+earlier he threatened violence, he was given a mental evaluation and told he’s angry, if my son threatened violence I’d say therapy til we figure this out, whatever happened the ball was dropped, he could’ve been made to attend therapy, meet with probation, and map out a life pattern so he didn’t end up here. I don’t care anymore, if someone threatens our democracy, there are actions that will be taken, older terrorists will be put right in jail, add the parents see that he got support, therapy, idk, I don’t think he’s working, he dropped out of college, drove his parents car to Buffalo, that’s a lot of gas, where’d he get the $$$?, where’d he get the money for everything? Internet access? Clothing, guns- I heard dad bot him a gun, there are photos n fb, where whole family s holding guns, is this a responsible action of the parents? He drove parents car to Buffalo- we could’ve maybe kept this fella from proceeding with his plan…. I am no very apprehensive about stepping outside but door. I’m concerned for me and my family’s life out here in these streets.
We just had a case last week of a 14 year old African American male who invaded the home of a white woman and he raped her, beat her, strangled her, and stabbed her all right in front of her small daughter. That story didn't even make national news, it's just a local news story. Imagine if a White boy ever did something like that to a black woman in front of her black child. It probably would have been the biggest news story of the year, bigger than this shooting.
Anyway, please don't be afraid, whatever happens in your life, sometimes only God is in control.

And sadly, if the focus of the killers educated parents was not on their civil engineering careers, but on raising a child with a soul and moral compass, then this could have been prevented! This is so heartbreaking. My thoughts and prayers to the victims and their families. I am Brown but since I set foot in this country and up to now I feel how you all felt. Why is it the color of your skin matters to them ignorant People??? I grew up in an island next door called Negros Island. In honor of those our original Ancestors. None of them skin color matters because everyone living in that island whether you are white, black, brown, yellow, pink etc. are called Negrenzis or Negrosanon in reference to all citizens of that island. No one discriminate nobody. I hope this white folks should teach their kids that there's no justification at all to discriminate somebody different than your own color.
