omg when I was a kid my sister broke the bolts right off the tank one day and while helping my dad shut the water off I kept asking her how the hell she did it and she finally screamed "I was putting in a tampon!" and I've never been able to forget that memory when dealing with tank bolts since!
If you change the toilet WAX SEAL should you change the toilet bolts screws on the bottom of the TOILET or can you use the same original screws bolts????
Must be great that gear like that bathroom system has spare parts, In my country (teeny tiny New Zealand) we have sooo many diy hardware stores that sell a random brand pan/cystern-tank kit made some place across the other side the world (usually Europe) and in less than a couple yrs when the mechanical things begin wearing out for some small little plastic part there aint no repair parts so you tell the customer you need a whole new toilet. Absolutely ridiculous!
Definitely. Parts for North American toilets have hardly changed in 100 years. The same flappers or fill valves that fit a modern toilet can be used to repair a toilet from the 1920s.
Man, plastic seats suck ass! Especially the ones that come as part of the toilet 'kit'. Enameled wood is the way to go...and cheap too! Also, as you've probably already seen when you edited the video Steve, the reason the seat wouldn't tighten down easily is the nylon nuts underneath were installed *upside down* ! LoL
Help,it's raining from upstairs into my bathroom. The water leak has gotten steadily worse. The maintenance just keeps replacing the ceiling and the leak from upstairs just keeps leaking.
I had a customer last week with the same problem and he asked me how tight should the bolts be I told him make the bolts as tight as you can then go 1/2 a turn, he said that is what he thought.
Steve likes "South of the Border Chicks". LoL.Ironically....... the plastic rod on my " Flush handle unit broke on Thursday night. I made a temp. fix and ordered a new part with a metal rod, not plastic. *** Nice video .****
Hey Steve, love your videos, I have a good friend who works of fire apparatus for the Boston fire department, I am also a multi-trade holder up here in Canada. Love your shit.
stephen mcgrath , No the only ones that were screwed to the wall were the toilets with a flush ell. The tank and bowl were separate and connected with a 2" chrome elbow. Long gone at least 60 or more years ago.👷🏻
Man if Joe Homeowner can't DIY that one...there's no hope! Great work Steve, easy money!
Man, When you were crankin' on those tank bolts I kept waiting for it to crack!! Your not afraid to give her the old 1-2 are ya Steve!!!!!~

Lol, a tampon? yeah i bet that's what she was putting up there! Broke the bolts off the toilet bowl? Come on my guy
Tmi
Wtf lmao
steve you missed out the rubber washer off the handle which fell in the bowl taking the old one out
mark edwards ikr! My OCD kicked in and started screaming "the rubber washer!" - "the rubber washer!" 😁
She’s a Chihuahua she's from Mexico she loves the warm weather 😂😂
I always make it a point to tighten tank to bowl bolts evenly on each side and not just crank down on one side at a time
Good enough for this neighborhood...

JOHN SCHIRLOFF It all depends on the condition of the floor bolts but me I change them just to be safe. ✌️
Steve, ever use the Fluidmaster replacement handles? Polymer on inside of tank so it can’t rust, and is spring loaded. Love them.
time to change the ringtone Steve!
Nice easy fix, I use to like those type of jobs when I was on the tools
Good video, gotta love toilet repairs. Easy service calls.

peteb2 heck, we like our older toilets. They were water hogs, but flushed quite well!
Complete toilet tune up. 🤘⚡️🤘

I can't understand why you'd wanna wear gloves? 😏
Covid
At 4:26 it looked like their was a a crack in the underside of the tank. Could have been a dirt streak, but looked like a crack.
Keep up the good work
Good enough for that neiborhood!
Goodenough for this neighborhood Steven!
Why is the water brown? Have they been shitting in the cistern or something?? 🤢
good fix!

I love your dog ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡★★★
Nice 👍 😎 ✌️
Yeah I've had to deal with loose toilet seats as a hotel maintenance guy, guests will literally break the plastic tabs. I end up replacing the seat.
At least this one wasn't leaking for a month before you got there. When they leak for a long time the job site gets nasty. "Why do you wear gloves"

I see that the toilet seat bolts nuts were originally installed backwards.
Ha, I have the same TP holder in my 3 bathrooms.

Does that mean that Molly has a Mexican bark

Don't you screw the cistern to the wall in your part of the world steve
