Speaking of the Ladybird books and their toy-accurate illustrations, I actually met the artist at my local comic book shop, and since I lived only five minutes away I ran home quickly and grabbed the books and brought them for him to sign. He said to me "This was the first illustration work I ever did, and the last work I ever thought I'd be signing."
31:49 to explain who/what toxitron is, he originally started out as a repaint of the original laser prime mold. It was intended to be released as part of the universe 1.0 line, but like many other things it got cancelled due to the lines poor performance. That toy would eventually be shown off for the first time at botcon 2005. Due to that botcon connection fun pub would later release two toys of the character. (This new version is the first one to be available to a lot of people. Its also the most authentic to the original version because it’s using the laser prime mold).
In terms of the character, if I remember correctly he’s supposed to be the product of an early attempt at making a clone of Optimus prime. (There’s not much more you can say about this guy).
Two notes on Lio Convoy: the handgun that comes with copy convoy is supposed to go with normal Lio (or any of the members of his team, tbh). And the longer blasters that peg into the forearms can be shoved into the backpiece, theres a couple of slots to mount them there as a jetpack, and also functions as alt mode storage.
As someone who lived in Rhode Island I’m in such a big happy shock that Thew went to comicazi, where I go every time I go to Boston! Knowing we picked up stuff from the same transformers cabinet is quite surreal, it really feels like transformers communities around the world are connected by places like that.
The Tarn mold’s brilliance is the robot mode. You can make him looks absolutely FANTASTIC in poses, especially if you don’t use the arm canon as sacrilege as that is to say since “Tarn’s supposed to have the canons”. When you give the mold something to hold, it comes to life rather than just find new ways to point his arm out
Thank you so very much. I live in Boston and Comicazi is the number one shop for used and vintage toys in the area. Newbury comics is also awesome as well . I'm just happy to see the local retail shops get a shout out.
I was in Comicazi last week visiting family in Boston and was floored by the amount of vintage bots they had, picked up FOC soundwave and PotP rippersnapper to finally complete my Abominus
Man, Bomb-Burst and Iguanus are actually REALLY swish little figures! You need to give them a chance when you can. Bomb-Burst reminds me of the Energon Omnicon jet mold, and I love how deranged he looks. Iguanus has a surprisingly fun bike mode that basically transforms like the Junkion bikes but with the wheels on struts so they aren't just loose parts. I ended up painting the medi-bot on my Earthrise Optimus. Yeah, the original release had it and roller in grey, but the show and running changes made them blue, and it looks so much nicer that way. I got the Core Class Laserbeak version of the DOTM Bee mold, knowing it would get recolored in yellow at some point, but I'm genuinely surprised they retooled the head with the battle mask. It kind of makes his head a little indistinct but it looks good up close. The first Leo Prime having no pupils is apparently due to the gold plastic being unpaintable. Fortunately, Gundam Marker sticks to it a bit better than normal acrylic paint. Gotta say though, that teal pedicure looks AMAZING with the charcoal and satin black color scheme. Galvatron would be a dream come true, given how rare his toy is outside of Japan.
I think they should have released bomb burst first tbh, it's a fine toy but Iguanus really blows it out of the water for articulation and posability and alt mode and even accessories. Iguanus is masterful, it just makes Bomb Burst feel clumsy by comparison
@@manjackson2772 Not sure I agree. They have about the same articulation as far as I can tell except Bomb-Burst has simple hinged ankles while Iguanus has ball joints. Bomb-Burst has two wing-guns that can be used as axes plus his pickaxe, while Iguanus has an indistinct blaster thing (tongs?!). But both have ball joints for shoulders, elbows, hips, and knees with a normal swivel for a neck and waist.
I dig the idea of an exo-suit for Selfie Series. There's also the workshirt and yellow boots look from S1/S2 that Spike and Sparkplug always had. They could also do the "future" outfits Spike and Carly wore in S3.
For me the Laser Optimus mold works best for imposter Optimus Primes. It's a truck but not the right truck, it has a trailer but not the right trailer, it has chest windows but they aren't the real windows from the truck mode; for me that all screams Optimus Prime Doppelganger. But yeah the Toxitron gang are all amazing and I managed to track most of them down in a week and just needed a friend's help getting Dead End.
Was pretty lukewarm about Tarn, but the Bludgeon treatment makes it so much better. Another toy in my collection I'll never feel the need to transform. Definitely on board with Trashmaster. Haven't gotten him yet, but love that he's a big chunk of truck, and bot like the Legacy Bulkhead. Would love to find that Toxitron repaint as I too find the Laser Prime mold pretty fun, and near perfect in design/articulation. A toy i definitely would not mind buying twice for those crazy G2 colors.
They probably didn't want to just because of price point, but I think it would have been interesting if they did a recolor and remold of Legacy Armada Megatron as Bludgeon
Protip: The side gray pieces can slot onto the maw part to make a giant handheld clamp. Like Clamp Champ. The front grille/wheel parts also look very good plugged into the back of the shoulders.
Off topic, i know. Love the black and purple nail color combo. I'm using gel polish now a days, it's stays rock solid for a week or 2, it doesn't damage as easy as normal nail polish. You will need a uv lamp and stuff, but it's really worth the extra effort ;-) I need me a Legacy Toxitron!
Not sure how to feel about Bolton F1gure Kollectorz featuring Doctor Who figures so prominently…hopefully they’ll be pushed aside by the time you get there
Remembering the grief I got extremely recently on a certain Transformers Forum What will remain nameless when I said "Cybertronian modes just turn into nothing" and now in the span of like 3 days my two favourite toy reviewers (you and Gav) have essentially said the same thing. VINDICATION!!! Give me Earth modes any day of the week
oh hey Toy Vault! they have a place in the Warwick Mall. They have a great selection most of the time but hoo boy they sure do take advantage of being the only place around sometimes haha
I love Tarn! He's one of my favorite Transformers characters and figures. I'm planning on getting Bludgeon and Jhiaxus because they are Voyagers with hand articulation. You can have them holding a lot more than things with an 8mm peg which gives them options for more elaborate weapons! Which I really like 👍👍
Great vid my friend. Coreclass bombburst isn't too bad of a figure. Im loving the coreclass line, so much better than the old legends class, plus u get weapons now. How much room was in that box for prime and bee though XD And thank you so much for the shout out of Figure Kollectorz, you are a diamond mate. :D
I preordered Trashmaster just because the idea of a garbage truck transformer with that name was too funny to pass up, and he ended up being like. One of my new favorite figures just ever?????
Leo prime's other pair of small guns can tab into the back kibble and store away there. The extra gun Nemesis has is a bit funky but you can slip it between his arms from the bottom when going into lion mode, then you just close up the chest panels and it stays in there.
I actually got Trashmaster for my Birthday, along side Detritus, 86 Brawn and Core Class Slug Sludge & Snarl (who were the last three Dinobots I needed to complete the Volcanicus).
My Bludgeon, the only one on my shelf is the Metagate one....The AoE triple changer Drift, but gold-ish orange and remoulded slightly. I feel like the design actually works better as Bludgeon because it solves my main problem with the later Bayverse designs; the AoE/TLK 'bots really don't look or feel like Transformers to me aesthetically because of the lack of kibble....But when you base it on a Pretender's shell, with no kibble in the first place it works.
Toxitron was supposed to be a part of Universe 1.0 before being cancelled. I think his characterization was supposed to be that he was the Bizzarro to Optimus’s Superman.
Now that the mold was used for Bludgeon... I kinda want to headswap my Tarn and repaint him to be Banzaitron (Whom I always preferred to simply call "Banzai" much better name imo) Also I bought, without regret, the DNA upgrade kit and Toyhax sticker set for Toxitron. He's so wonderfully nasty and eye-melting I just had to spoil the lad
My first video from you Mr Thew was the " I regret everything!" Vid with the Unicron by haslab and it's been a wild one from there! You only being one of the three reviewers I watch. You definitely have your own entertainment value and perspective on everything an being a chunky 40 year old dude I can relate. 😂. Anyways keep up the amazing work.
I really hope that Hasbro does a Beast Wars II Galvatron. They have already teased Big Convoy on Magmatron’s packaging. It would be a shame, if Lio Convoy wouldn’t get his rival. 20:45
Comicazi is an amazing comic shop. I've had friends who worked there. And since you were doing Pulse Con I am going to guess that the Toy Vault you went to was at the Emerald Square Mall in North Attleborough. There are three Toy Vaults in Massachusetts. 😁
7:24 the more you pause to look at it, the more you've come to notice and realize that thew is frickin' right!! The art is reused and bumblebee is just driving on thin air!!

The best part of Toxitron is the parody poster art. Lol.
Walmart was being salty dirtbags for what they got and demanded other things
@@donkeykong6426 in terms of why the original was cancelled? That would probably be a pretty accurate answer.
@@XPproductions365 it is a fair 2nd reason
In the midst of all the Transformers stuff, I just wanna say that the Rogue Limb album was really good! Your vocals are wild
Love the new Bludgeon. He is so fun to mess around with.
He just needs an upgrade kit that gives him more samurai bits.
Bludgeon is so much fun to pose! The sword just adds so much to what you can do with him.
Camshaft’s transformation reminds me of how so many Go-Bots transform where the center of the vehicle mode turns into the torso in bot mode.
We love Toy Vault! When I was at Hasbro that was my usual spot to hit up and Comicazi was where the local Transformers meetup happened!
Two notes on Lio Convoy: the handgun that comes with copy convoy is supposed to go with normal Lio (or any of the members of his team, tbh). Tarn hit just right since he was the first official toy of him that I can think of. He was solid
Kinda wish I didn’t get the core Optimus and bee separately. I want the trailer and axe lol
The Tarn mold’s brilliance is the robot mode. agreed. out of all of the "inconsistent" let's call them, figures, that would be one that makes sense
Or they could do them as headmasters. Even if it doesn't transform, would be cool!
Love that out of all the names they chose Camshaft, for a Bot who's alt-mode is one of the very few cars that doesn't have a Camshaft in its engine 😅
The Toxitron is great color scheme for that mold and works so well. I have that mold 3 times and is my most played with Optimus.
Seeing this on my way home genuinely made me well up, really needed this and I hope you feel the appreciation you deserve 😌
I guess Bludgeon's name has the same energy as Spoons from Gobots who is a forklift.
For me the Laser Optimus mold works best for imposter Optimus Primes. It's a truck but not the right truck, it has a trailer but not the right trailer, it has chest windows but they aren't the real windows from the truck mode; for me that all screams Optimus Prime Doppelganger.

"I've got your number, baby!" what a perfectly Matt Berry line

Hey, that's the Emerald Square ToyVault! I love that place. If you're ever in the area again, there's another one in Marlborough, as well.
I saw the Treebot review and I thought it was an amazing review. Also bludgeon being a silly tank is so great
They probably didn't want to just because of price point, but I think it would have been interesting if they did a recolor and remold of Legacy Armada Megatron as Bludgeon
I live right near the toy vault, it’s been my shop for 18+ years now, so cool you visited my stomping grounds!!!! Come back soon man!
Gotta say, check out Iguanis sooner than later- legitimately one of my favorite figures of the year! 😅
The Leo Prime mold has two little ports on the back of the robot mold to store those little blaster pieces.
Protip: The side gray pieces can slot onto the maw part to make a giant handheld clamp. Like Clamp Champ.

I dunno what it is but that Bludgeon Alt mode looks like it belongs in a TMNT line.
I think the samurai theme and his colour scheme give him the Ninja Turtles vibe.
Protip: Leg Bludgeon's head will fit in the chest cavity a lot better when turned sideways.
Remembering the grief I got extremely recently on a certain Transformers Forum What will remain nameless when I said "Cybertronian modes just turn into nothing" and now in the span of like 3 days my two favourite toy reviewers (you and Gav) have essentially said the same thing.

I love it when you say "camshaft", whisper it to me!
“It’s the bag of crap that I crave” goes really hard Thew
I kinda want that Nemesis Leo but I wish the grey matched the package photos.
Yeah, loving my Toxitron too. Doing the toyhax decals to it to spruce up that trailer. Good times.
I love Tarn! He's one of my favorite Transformers characters and figures. I'm planning on getting Bludgeon and Jhiaxus because they are Voyagers with hand articulation. Iguanus kicks ass. Its so weird, poses up a storm, and has great colors.
Since I picked up Tarn I’m perfectly happy sticking with ROTF Bludgeon, it holds up apart from the floppy sword and melts treads.
I lived in Massachusetts for 5 years. I miss Newbury Comics so much.
I don't know how I didn't notice the Deceptikoffing tattoo until about 18 minutes in.
Great video and I am addicted to Rogue Limb!! Fantastic album!!
I can't believe Thew was at my local mall in my favorite store and I missed it.
Bro your nail match Toxitron's trailer. Hell yeah!
Toxitron was supposed to be a part of Universe 1.0 before being cancelled. I think his characterization was supposed to be that he was the Bizzarro to Optimus’s Superman.
I have been wondering since I was a kid why the guy with a super-sharp sword was named "Bludgeon." Thank you for validating me.

Oh yeah the 3 reviewers I watch are You Emgo's reviews and Jobby the Hong. that Las one Jobby is the first reviewer I ever watched then You Threw!
Sixo had a few of the mini spy’s off of us but I think we have a few left over at Leicester vintage toys
9:56 reminds me of Jace and the Wheeled Warriors.
I still stand by it that they gotta remold the head, chest, and shoulders on Lazer Prime so they can give us a Legacy Clench
I really hope that Hasbro does a Beast Wars II Galvatron. They have already teased Big Convoy on Magmatron’s packaging. It would be a shame, if Lio Convoy wouldn’t get his rival. 20:45
Having the Banzaitron version, I look forward to picking up Legacy Bludgeon version of the mold as I don't "need" Tarn.
I kinda want that Optimus/BB core pack just for Roller and the repair bot
Comicazi is an amazing comic shop. I've had friends who worked there. And since you were doing Pulse Con I am going to guess that the Toy Vault you went to was at the Emerald Square Mall in North Attleborough. There are three Toy Vaults in Massachusetts. 😁
@21:24 Toy Vault is AWESOME!! I've got one near ME!!
great review as always! also actus reus is one of my favorite albums this year
On the way to the shops earlier I was listening to the Sonic R OST, and on the way back - Rogue Limb. I have a broad range of tastes!
Love the Core Bumper and Prime set 😂🤟🏻🤟🏻
I live in massachusetts so I definitely check out some of those places you mentioned
I'd love three more repaints of Toxitron but with some head retools:
Octane
Ironworks
Powertrain
You went to Newberry Comics?!? I used to work near one of their shops, and it was a frequent lunch break visit for me.
I'm just waiting for that Toxictron to go on clearance at my local Walmart
Always a good day when our jolly boy Thewie the 13th!
yeah that's a cool shirt. cool design.
glad you had a good time in America :) love ya vids bro
Maybe hasbro can robotise the face for the selfie series just a thought
7:24 the more you pause to look at it, the more you've come to notice and realize that thew is frickin' right!!
The art is reused and bumblebee is just driving on thin air!!
Be back shortly, I need to go secure that core class optimus fucking immediately
scarem is a scarab, silly
25:55 in tfwiki he is labeled as a scrab but to me he looks more like a tiger beetle
Had to look up Rogue Limb. Thew on drums noice
The Prime and Bumblebee Core 2 pack is so good. Earthrise Prime figure is really good, but this core scaled trailer is better.
Seems like the month of Bludgeon
I hope that you are having a wonderful day and keep up with the great content
That intro shorted out my brain
Was expecting part two of this to come in weekend but don't mind it been dropped in Wednesday.
Case anyone hasn't told what's story about Toxitron, quick recap: Toxitron was planned to be 2003 TF: Universe but due line get canned it never saw daylight, early mentioned Animated Toxitron get made till getting to 2023, Hasbro thought to finally fulfill that old plan and do Toxitron for Legacy.
If Kefka were a transformer, he’d be that one.
I have Scourge but I think you just sold me on Toxitron! He'll look amazing next to G2 Grimlock (the only version of that mould I bought!)
THEW I did not expect a video today
"Imagine him rolling in to save the day."
I did, and it made me smile. Also your thoughts on Frankentron?
They could bring back animorphs for selfie series
i really hope the package i sent to the po box makes it, it's my first time sending something overseas, so i hope it either doesn't get swiped by someone or gets lost or something else. it at least cleared customs, so that's good.
I think that BW2 galvatron COULD happen, maybe as a core like energon did
my personal headcanon I will now share about the minispies, is that they are the result of the biosphera clones experiment, unlike fastra/fastlane and wingspan&pounce which are full on, they are simpler. everyone pretty much identical to eachother, but different in alliances!
I like the look of toxitron, and after the introduction of scrounge back in CW, I love how they are introducing official toys for smaller and somewhat forgotten characters
If I see the new Bludgeon on deep discount, I'll grab it. Otherwise, my favorite Bludgeon is from the Revenge of the Fallen line.
