Then i put the tracks into my daw in my recording studio where i adjusted levels, did fast Fourier analysis of the spectral overlaps and holes in each track. Solved the bizarre and extreme surgical cut in the bass guitar track around 150 Hz which made her first position G string notes nearly silent, added a Hardware 1176 leveling amplifier which I actually built myself, as used in major albums throughout history, added a subtle but standard hpf to the bass guitar as all rock producers do, added presence to the guitar, added a narrow boost in the drums to accentuate the snare and Tom crack, edited out as much of the streaming audio glitches in various tracks, performed more spectral analysis on the new mix, created 13 different mixes and analyzed each of those in various listening environments including multiple cars and earbuds as well as my studio monitors, added a hard limiter on the master track in case of overshot while rendering, mastered it to be loud yet dynamic, and resynced the final audio mix with the video again. I was listening emerging bands around the world, most of them have kind of quality, but the level of the Warning is beyond the limits on this industry, period. Wow!!!!
You are a little late. They have emerged since they have already played Wacken and other festivals in Europe. A rising star doesn't get the invites they did in festivals. They will just keep getting more fans since they work so hard and keep getting better. Come back in 5 years and see how big they are then. Look out world The Warning is here.
@@don-music waiting for them to emerge because they already have. 4th album one VMA's and 1 EMA's they are not an up and coming band now they are there but not at the top yet.
@gzin33 I’m so confused. Where am i waiting for them to emerge? What did i do that was too late? You might be posting to the wrong person? What am i doing that suggests that you that I’m waiting for them to break out and become successful?
The original bass was performed by the one and only Flea! I was gonna say Taylor Hawkins on drums but he just did touring with Alanis and appeared in this video.

Would need folk like @don-music to offer expert opinion, but in my (very non expert) view, this gives us great insight into The Warning’s overall sound. The bass lines may not always be hugely complex (when she gets criticised for that I always think it’s like people seeing Usain Bolt walking and assuming he couldn’t run), but there’s something about the timing, the tone, that underpins the overall sound in a very different way to other rock bands. Something that has a hint of funk/her early jazz training, but is still the rock line, that creates a different sound overall. Think Dany and Pau are hugely talented performers, musicians, song writers, singers, but believe it’s Ale that makes the overall sound different (and better). Again, experts can opine, but do the long and strong left hand fingers help as well, allowing the high action to bring something extra to the sound? Anyway, amazing job on this remix and amazing job by Ale.
Thanks Don. This song may be one of the most clear examples what great teaching they got from Pablo. Ale so chill playing Flea's tasty bass line. Jazz album from Ale? She could do it. Pau with the lovely brush and cross-stick work. If you only knew DPA form this, you might never believe how hard they can go. They really could play anything, any style. I also love that Dany's vocals in this version are more of a demanding tone than what I always felt in the original.
Totally! Thank you! Yes this is one of her first chances to play something more technical, more funk jazz fusion style, less repetitive, full of famous licks yet with her own improv included…. And her own unique flawless tone and style… jaco would have been proud
@@don-musicI once saw a comment where the guy said, “Alé just ‘piddles along’ with her bass lines. She’s not good”. I showed him that video of her playing Jaco when she was 10-11years old-never heard another word from him!😆 She’s a prodigy Love this mix

Totally! But the entire mix is very listenable now…. The bass is a feature of this song, and needs to be where it is now, but drums guitar and vocals all shine so much also

As good as Ale is, I always get the feeling she’s holding back as to not upstage anyone. Every time she plays it looks so smooth and effortless. Great mix Don. Thanks !
I actually believe you are correct. She is an academic player, extremely gifted, and went very far technically as a bassist and pianist actually before the rock bass thing really took over her life. She’s still got chops, and it was interesting to read a guitar magazine interview where she actually stated how she was trained in jazz fusion and idolized jaco pastorius… where in the past she kind of didn’t talk about her training and skills in jazz. So she’s maybe starting to own her skills and not be so afraid to demonstrate her chops… and maybe different taste in music… with her sisters. She isn’t extroverted so therefore can’t be talented… apparently true talent is required to be outgoing and demand attention on stage, while teaching perfect pitch and time and technique and tone require zero talent at all 🙄 Slap must be really hard because it sounds so cool and fast and most bass players don’t do it. All of those things i see all the time with reactors. Hell even some musicians. It boggles the mind
This is brilliant. Thank you. Random thought that occurred to me: The Warning aren’t exactly blessed with a lot of time right now. I wonder how long Ale worked on this. She certainly made it look deceptively easy.

Nice remix. I was impressed with what I could hear from Ale in the original performance, but thanks to your awesome remix I could hear it a lot better this time. Ale CRUSHED it in this performance, I'm super impressed. And this is coming from someone who has always thought Ale is a damn good (and damn underrated) bassist. Thanks for doing this so we can all appreciate the true epic-ness of this performance now that we can actually hear all three instruments.
Wow Dany is an absolute Superstar... this is so well done. Ali is blowing the Bass lines out of the water, so, amazing. Then their is Pau laid back chilin' and, Killin, the drums. Love the brushes in the beginning and the break down. Great job on boosting the Bass!
@alyssakgriff Totally! All three took this in new directions… Dany with the amazing guitar work while singing the original vocal with her gorgeous and emotional voice…. Pau in soft funky jazz land… and Ale….. doing the most complex bass playing off her career… and looking like this is the simplest little ditty
Thank you!!! Yea their mix was… well it could have been worse for sure, but it was certainly not a good rock mix… and it was like they had no idea what a bass level is supposed to be… particularly in a group with only two pitched instruments
Just when I thought that this couldn’t get any better I find this remix. Great job dude. Ale killed it on Flea’s bass line. Now we can enjoy the ear candy.
Come on!!! Fast Fourier and Spectral Analysis ... you did an advanced job, Don. The quality is spectacular, congratulations. Warning Dad Luis and Lalo should listen your enhancement and read your process. I'm sure that they will enjoy it as engineers. Thanks for your dedication, passion and scientific thinking.
They knocked it out of the park! Dany brings so much vocal and guitar power to this, pau is grooving like an old jazz player, and Ale performed one of the most amazing bass parts I’ve ever heard
Hahaha the funny thing is the kick is nearly perfect, but they put a too hard compressor (not ok) and LONG REVERB (not ok) on the kick… so Pau hits it and then it swells up louder after… totally throwing off the way it sounds lol. I could improve that with time and money, but it would be a huge effort and in the end it sounds how it sounds. So many inappropriate engineering choices for a rock group by the radio engineer, but in the end it still sounded really good so worth fixing the most dramatic issues, like the bass level
Mahalo Don, really appreciate your remix...I was simultaneously playing Alains' original MV and this one, and it is amazing how prevalent the bass was way back then! So now Ale's playing is much better balanced...she is phenomenal! Muchas Gracias! @Don-Music #APDVillaReality
I have listened to the original sooo many times and I just found this that you have done: Thank you - it sounds fantastic - just love the extra ooomph the bass has now :)
Thanks Don. Ale was awesome on this and it's great to really hear her work. They did a great job and I'm sure with their schedule they didn't get to rehearse the song too much.
OK, now that was a great rendition of the song and the bass is amazing. More songs need to equalize the bass better as you did here. Thanks for sharing.
The bass in this song was always overlooked and Flea from what most know of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers did the bass line on this did an amazing job with it and Ale follows right behind and makes it just as great. Both are so under rated and this is from a drummer not a bass player.
4:03 to 4:08. Just nasty, nasty stuff on the bass. It changed the whole harmonic language of the song right at the end, living listeners with their head tilted like the RCA dogs. (I'm old, you young folks may have to look that one up to get the reference.)

Great work Don, thanks for putting right what should have been done in the first place. ❤✌🤘⚡🔥
Thank you!!! Yea their mix was… well it could have been worse for sure, but it was certainly not a good rock mix… and it was like they had no idea what a bass level is supposed to be… particularly in a group with only two pitched instruments
Just noticed that Pau was using her left-hand stick backwards like Mike Portnoy.
Yes!!! And flipping over to brushes seamlessly? Awesome stuff
Just when I thought that this couldn’t get any better I find this remix. Great job dude. Ale killed it on Flea’s bass line. Now we can enjoy the ear candy.
Thank you so much! Love me some great bass playing!
Great job, Don.
Thank you!
Well done, they need to turn Ale's Bass at the shows.
I know right? Although in Vancouver, her bad was effing huge, as was her vocal level… best live mix of the three bands
In person, with a sound system that can handle it, Lalo makes her bass sound reasonably epic.
@rexwave4624 absolutely! But i am certain he was not involved in the siriusxm mix
@@don-music I think he’s their live guy only.
Resalta más el trabajo de la Diosa del Trueno...Ale...gracias por compartir..!!
She deserves this mix to be heard by anybody who doesn’t believe she’s a brilliant bassist
Fantastic job, Don! That bass pops so nicely now, it was a shame it was a bit buried in the original mix. Looking forward to your analysis, as always!
Thank you!
So good... thanks Don 🤩
My pleasure! Rock on!
Ale, cool calm and collected. Oh, you need jazz? Coming right up...Next up: Apologize?
I know right!!!!!!
Thank you!
This is the One! Thanks
Thank you!!!
Love the stronger bass 🎸
🔥🤘⚡️
Estupenda interpretación al clásico de Alanis Morissette 👏👏👏👏🤟🤟🤟
Totally!!
Ale is a Queen size 🎉🎉🎉❤
🤘🤘🤘🔥⚡️
Great job, Don. More bass is always better!
Agreed! Thank you lol
Nice work!
Hey thank you!!
Thanks, Don-Music. It's very interesting to be able to pay more attention to what Alejandra plays on her bass.
You’re welcome, and yea I agree!
This should be the official definitive version of this cover, now that we can properly hear Alejandra's basslines.
I wish it was, but I’m happy that TWA are enjoying this either way!
Nailed It!
Sweet! Thank you!
I can feel the bass resonance inside my guts , what a feeling!
Awesome!!!! Yea to me this is how funk Rock bass should be mixed
Awesome Remix Don. The original was good you made it Great. Thanks.
Why thank you so much!
YES!! MORE ALE!! 🤘⚡️🤘
Rock on!!!! 🤘🤘🤘⚡️🔥
Sweet, my man! Sweet as hell! Ale is on fire here, but so is Pau and so is Dany. But really, great job Don!
Yea… for me, this now highlights all three of them better than the original mix did… and thank you!
imo this is their best cover to date, and you just improved it to the next level. Thank you so much, Sir. 👏
Wow, thank you! I agree this is an amazing cover
Thank you! I love the extra helping of Ale. 😊
Can’t get enough lol
Dani is the best!!! The Warning, Always and Forever!!⚡⚡⚡🤘
This is Amazing version of this song. The Warning, a real testimonial of rock
They knocked it out of the park! Dany brings so much vocal and guitar power to this, pau is grooving like an old jazz player, and Ale performed one of the most amazing bass parts I’ve ever heard
Yes! More Ale! 🎸 Now let's get the kick in sync. Just kidding. Thank you.
Thank you! Yea today people have forgotten how real bass guitar should be mixed!
@@don-music Preaching to the choir! You ought to know!
Lolol
I don't think I've ever seen a recording fixed like that without the masters
Why thank you! I’ve had people tell me to make a video where i do this editing. Maybe one day!
I have listened to the original sooo many times and I just found this that you have done: Thank you - it sounds fantastic - just love the extra ooomph the bass has now :)
Great re-mix Don! Love feeling Ale’s bass!
Thank you so much!
Nice!
⚡️🔥🤘🤘😊
Thank You Angel's
Agreed!!
i love these girls, im so glad i saw them this year.
Esto es mágico.
Locura!!! Thank you!
It sounds better than I expected 😮
Awesome!
Finally. More Bass! The bass is sexy.
Isn’t it though? Love that bass part
I didn't think this could get any better well I was wrong, great job!
Thank you!
Thanks Don. Ale was awesome on this and it's great to really hear her work. They did a great job and I'm sure with their schedule they didn't get to rehearse the song too much.
Yea that’s the astonishing thing really about how amazing this is… the lack of time to prepare
OK, now that was a great rendition of the song and the bass is amazing. More songs need to equalize the bass better as you did here. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much!!!
omg, time to transcribe this know, thank you so much C:
You’re very welcome!
The bass in this song was always overlooked and Flea from what most know of the Red Hot Chilli Peppers did the bass line on this did an amazing job with it and Ale follows right behind and makes it just as great. Both are so under rated and this is from a drummer not a bass player.
ESPECTACULAR, AMIGO.
Alejandra “flea” killing all bass line…🤘🤘🤘
Lol yes!
4:03 to 4:08. Just nasty, nasty stuff on the bass. It changed the whole harmonic language of the song right at the end, living listeners with their head tilted like the RCA dogs. (I'm old, you young folks may have to look that one up to get the reference.)
I’m old enough to know the rca dogs… love the description!
Fantastic ....
Yea they are! and thanks
