His friend worked with rosie in the same building. She was upset about his SNL jokes about her, so Norms friend asked him to dial it down. Norm agreed, and then rolled out the flower joke on Conan the next day!!! classic
Had me in tears. Norm is ridiculous. The jokes that don't land are the funniest. It's all about the delivery, not the joke itself but sadly a lot of people just do not get it
Norm’s stories are always funny. You never know what the point is, so you have to listen to the whole thing. Then it often doesn’t even have a punch line. It’s the journey, not the destination.
Norm and Conan are great together. Even when they are making it awesomely akward, they are on the still same page and know when to reel it in and get a laugh.
Man Andy is so lucky, he’s one of the few cool celebrities that has been to the ‘Hairy Guys Ass Mansion’. That was one of my favorite jokes of all his Conan appearances! You can tell he just thought of it moments ago, but it’s so perfect for the place and time! Norm was the GOAT!!
man, that condom joke was hilarious. i guess the audience just wasn't ready... Thanks for uploading some new norm macdonald stuff, OP. it's about time youtube got some more!
I love these interviews more than anything else norm had done… stand up, acting, SNL, pod casts.. none of them are as funny as his appearances on the late night talk shows…
Totally correct. He might not crack my top of stand up comics, but when you combine his entire media catalogue specifically these late night appearances, he's the funniest person in history to me
Dave and Conan would probably have him on like every other show if they could. "Here to promote his new stand-up show in Dirtcunt, Manitoba, it's Norm MacDonald!" *crowd is confused*
He once said on the Howard Stern show that it's funny when he or anyone bombs, but that he himself actually doesn't like to bomb. Also if you hear and watch all of his videos, you'll see that he is obsessed with making people laugh and being entertaining. So I doubt he loves to bomb, he do however enjoy to confuse the audience. This is based off of all his interviews by the way, and yes I'm obsessed with Norm MacDonald.
I've watched all of Norm's talk show appearances & I realized that a lot of his jokes/anecdotes follow a formula where the punchline involves mistaken identity: there's the "Bob Kendall" airplane story, the turtle "roast beef on a hard roll" story, the 1 where his mom thought some Mexican guy was Dave Letterman, the Pump Friction joke & that other Letterman appearance where he says he saw an impostor Ben Matlock in an airport. I love Norm, but I think I found his talk show joke recipe
Ahaha. So glad you reminded me about this comment. Since that comment, Norm has been one of my favourite comedians. I was too excited at that point to include that a.
I dont know if people remember this but all SNL cast members use to be talented enough (especially weekend update guys) to go on to all the talk shows and make the rounds every month while on the show either doing standup or sit down routines like this. Now none of them have the talent in standup. Its so sad they began hiring juliard graduates instead of comedians.
With the facts the guy gave him, I thought he was setting up for a punchline of "then again, I don't know if I should trust him. He thought my name was Bob"
Norm kicks ass. Wish I had this when I made my Norm Macdonald "he says to me he says to me he says" video... It won't let me link to it, but its in my profile.
I like how the audience never laughs at norms jokes but conan is always busting a gut. You have to know stuff to get norms jokes and have to be simi intelligent.
i laugh at almost all of Norm's jokes, and when the punchline isn't funny, its usually pretty obvious that it was intentional. Norm's 1 of my favorite comedians. i wasn't criticizing him, i just noticed that his stories frequently involve mistaken identity. Like when his mom thought a Mexican guy in a donut shop was Letterman, or when he thought some old guy in an airport was Ben Matlock. He just likes that specific literary/comic device for some reason, so he uses it in these interviews
So the guy says to me he says to me he says
Yep!
...he says he says, he says
So anyway I says to Mabel I says
That has become part of my speech pattern
Years ago you made this comment…
Norm is funnier when no one laughs.
That Madonna joke was fucking gold.
Definitely.
"See I just read it for hairy guys asses" - Words Andy would come to regret for years to come
These Vids all priceless now. We need to watch them all and keep them close to our hearts. RIP Norm.
I’m not norm will be on this soon if not already
First joke about Madonna. Conan looks into the camera like “ Ok this is how it’s gonna be today”. Genius.
This guy's comedy is truly underrated. He is a comic genius and makes me laugh every time I watch him.
9 years ago he was underrated, now he's a legend.
His friend worked with rosie in the same building. She was upset about his SNL jokes about her, so Norms friend asked him to dial it down. Norm agreed, and then rolled out the flower joke on Conan the next day!!! classic
Norm is so handsome
James Darmor cause nobody would look for them.

That Madonna joke was everything , I love how the crowd didn't laugh 😭 That's what makes it funnier . Norm is a genius
Absolutely brilliant
I think he likes it even better when they don't laugh
I wish I had a time machine. 96' such a simpler time.
“Our buddy, our pal, our lifelong friend, Norm Macdonald”
The best guest on Conan hands down
Norm’s stories are always funny. You never know what the point is, so you have to listen to the whole thing. Then it often doesn’t even have a punch line. It’s the journey, not the destination.
Bob Kendall has always been one of my favorite comedians. I love all his OJ jokes.
Yeah yeah... Bob... Kendall
I searched for him 🤣🤣
Plane story!
There was an actor Bobby Kendall who did a arthouse Gay film.. very trippy but sadly gay.. i aint into that funny business..
Norm and Conan are great together. Even when they are making it awesomely akward, they are on the still same page and know when to reel it in and get a laugh.

Andy probably regrets this quip to this day as it's probably the seed that became the Andy loves gay porn gag he always did afterwards.
Him and Jimmy Caan
Don't forget that this hairy guys ass thing led to all those Andy being gay jokes as well.. hard slip of tongue there andy, if you know what i mean..
I miss Norm.
I miss Norm. I love that Conan saw Norm’s brilliance and basically just gave him free roam to have fun with it and go along for the ride
man, that condom joke was hilarious. i guess the audience just wasn't ready...
Thanks for uploading some new norm macdonald stuff, OP. it's about time youtube got some more!
I friggin love (and miss) this guy..he’s like comedy medicine for all of the utter sh*t on late night these days
Conan's dead? I didn't even know he was sick
"He said the actual name of the starship was not... the "Star Trek", it was the Enterprise'."
I LOVE Norm!
Can you explain the joke pls?
You can't define Norm.
Norm just is.
The two best things on youtube are all the amazing historical videos available to anyone anywhere and... NORM.
I love these interviews more than anything else norm had done… stand up, acting, SNL, pod casts.. none of them are as funny as his appearances on the late night talk shows…
Totally correct. He might not crack my top of stand up comics, but when you combine his entire media catalogue specifically these late night appearances, he's the funniest person in history to me
Legend all the way through.
Help! I can't stop watching Norm
Imagine if Andy had kept his mouth shut - we would have missed out on a whole sub-genre of Andy Richter jokes !
Andy tried to keep his mouth shut, but the guy holding down Andy made sure he couldn't.

That "hairy guys ass mansion" joke was brilliant.
norm was always himself. he had such an admirable way about him.
Norm is awkwardly brilliant. A genius.
If I had to pick one the "hairy guys ass mansion" is probably my favorite norm quote
Norm Mcdonald is my spirit animal
Psyduck is mine
The 2 best.
There should be a Norm MacDonald- award for least amoubt of fucks given.
90s ties we're the best.
norm and conan are just hilarious together
2:47 andy just killed himself for a overunning great gig
Went on for decades literally until norm died
Dave and Conan would probably have him on like every other show if they could. "Here to promote his new stand-up show in Dirtcunt, Manitoba, it's Norm MacDonald!"
*crowd is confused*
This was back when the crowd didn't get that kind of humor Norm has. I thought the Star Trek joke was funny
i watched every vid of norm on youtube like 20 times
Back in the old days...
Love these guys.
Conan, Andy and Normie are 3 of the best EVER!
THX UPLOADER
I like this norm guy

Glad you had the stones to upload this even though the quality is poor....well worth it, damn tracking!!!
can't get enough Norm MacDonald!
My three favorite comedians together. Just great!
one of the funniest guys ever. Watch. "Me doing stand up." Awesome.
"He was telling me last week he went to the Harry Guy's Ass Mansion." Ba ha ha ha!
Only Norm can make me lose my shit with a preamble to a joke. "Interesting story I say THIS week..."
The groans really get him off. Such a good man
His expression after the madonna joke : )
he is one of a kind, that's for sure...does a great burt reynolds also...
The speed on the Hairy Guys ...mansion and the Jimmy Caan jokes are just incredible.
that old set looks so cozy
I think it's sweet he didn't want to make the first plane guy feel bad so he kept the "Bob" bit going with the second guy.
Norm doing the norm. Which for him is abnormal. Damn Norm. A misunderstood genius.
He should have kept this set, it's awesome.
This guy is so intriguing.
The name of the star ship was not the “Star Trek” it was the Enterprise 🤣😂
When this video was posted, it was a 14 year-old clip. Now, it’s only a few years away from 30. Christ almighty.
If you listen closely, there is noise in the picture.
I was 6 months old when this took place
it's amazing how norm rarely ever repeats stories/comedy on talk shows. its brilliant.
He does, but it's never about the bit. The way he tells it, that's what matters to the people at home.
Not only is Norm a genius, he is also a psychic...Kindle should pay him royalties
Surely the best talk show guest of american TV history.
This is when late night was in its prime
boy that Star Trek joke at the end sure fell flat haha
Norm was the best guest on Late Night.
