This coaster is definitely an interesting one. Soquet definitely had odd restraints on their looping coasters as well. It's neat to see that this one is still operating but, in Poland. Thanks for this amazing video, Steve! :-)
That's right John, I'm actually facing backwards on this video as for the ride, not one of the most comfortable coasters I have come across over the years. There is a good video of Quantum Loop at SeaBreeze in Rochester which Anton filmed during our visit, I think it has POV as well, can't remember !

I suppose this coaster would give a more comfortable ride if the restraints were individual opposed to being shared. I had watched the video of Quantum Loop at Seabreeze in New York. It did look quite uncomfortable! Interestingly enough, it's been operating in Mexico since 2004. I have yet to ride a Soquet coaster so, if I do, I'll definitely brace myself! :-)
The Soopa Loopa is in Poland!? It lives on! I'm halfway tempted to go visit, just so I can have another ride on it. It was fantastic when I was 12! As for "restraints", are you talking about the thing that holds passengers in the car? It was just a metal U, covered in foam, that went over your shoulders and torso, and clicked when it was in place. Actually I think they changed that at a later time, cos I've been to Lightwater Valley a few times. I do remember my pelvis getting a good smacking from the metal bar every time there was a wobble in the track.
This one always stood out to me. I rode it in the late 80s, was new to looping coasters then so enjoyed this. Was kinda disappointed when i went back with my kids 20 years later & it wasn't there. But then they had The Ultimate but its not there now either. No reason to visit the park again for me.
Yeah by trying to go more towards the 'family' market they removed all their good rides. It's definitely going to cost them because they aren't really on the map anymore in the UK. I really hope the same thing doesn't happen to Drayton Manor as they also seem to be going towards the 'family' route by removing G-force, Apocalypse and Shockwave's standup trains, all of which were probably the best experiences at Drayton.
@@LordMcdaddy They had no money problems back then it was a family bizz, and only sold it to Brighton Pier Group due to the Covid lockdown situation! This was at the park from March of 1988 to end of 94 season to make way for: The Dingy Slides! As they needed the space.
