    Leena, I’m so happy that you’re trying to make changes for your well being. I remember being in the same position with my now 3 year old. She would wake up every 2 hours and I had to work full time and just was going insane. Motherhood is the hardest thing ever and I’m so glad you talk about the hard times because I feel like it isn’t talked about enough.

    As someone who had a rough relationship with my mother throughout my childhood, it is so refreshing and comforting to see how loving and gentle you are with your children. You seem like a lovely mother.

    I personally chose not to sleep train my boys but I do believe that every situation is different and sometimes it might be the most loving thing you can do. I can tell that you are the most loving mom they could possibly have! 💕

    2:22 You are so beautiful. I love your, not over done makeup. I am home every day with health issues and the struggle is real but I've slowly been trying to get products that are easy to use and make me feel good. Unfortunately I don't seem to do it for just home and hubby and I wish I could. Love everything about your look, but at 53 I can definitely do it my way lol😊

    Curious if you are using your prep kitchen or main kitchen more? Also for Alaina’s room, I really like the lighting on the walls. You could also reuse her name in wooden letters (from her old playroom) and put that above her bed.

    I'm so sorry for the poor baby. Sleep training is the worst thing you can do to a baby, especially when you let them cry. After the child cried for 45 minutes, he noticed that his caregiver does not come, his needs are not satisfied and therefore he gave up crying. It's a lifelong trauma. Please be aware of the psychological consequences of "letting cry". Of course the baby will sleep because it knows that it has no other way to „survive“. I know that it is not easy to have a baby that cannot sleep alone, but it is normal that a 6-month-old baby cannot. Hope you find other ways but please guys never let your babys cry.

    • @sophieminhajuddin9221
      @sophieminhajuddin9221 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don’t think this is terrible. I sleep trained my 3 children and they are perfectly fine I got to a limit yes and would go check and check on them and go back out but honestly going in every single time they cry is the worst thing you do they became so heavy replying on you to put them to sleep if they are fed clean then I don’t see the issues everyone needs to do what they need to do but as a parent there are other things you need to do through out the day and I don’t think it’s productive rocking a baby to sleep driving around in car to get your child to sleep you became an mess wondering if they are ok she has a monitor she isn’t being stupid and ignoring her baby she has to do what she thinks is right who are we to judge my babies learnt quickly that I wasn’t giving in to there every cry because it’s normal babies will cry but they learn to and it was good for me to as I could get things done around the house etc the baby is what possible 6 months and not a newborn

    • @e.e.6682
      @e.e.6682 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@sophieminhajuddin9221 Babies not only have physiological needs and when they cry/scream, they don't do that because they are only hungry, their diapers are full, etc. - but they need closeness and security. They can thus co-regulate themselves with their caregivers. It is totally unrealistic to expect an infant to regulate himself and get to sleep, because many simply can't sleep alone yet and need the mother and that's completely normal. An infant, which is especially still under 1 year, cannot manipulate the mother either - if it cries, then it needs the mother, because she is the safe haven. If the safe haven is not there and does not react to crying, then attachment disorders arise in childhood and especially in adult life, which have unpleasant effects. I recommend that you research the attachment theory and the attachment disorders. If the sleep training worked out for you, nice for you. However, I do not judge, but they are scientifically based facts.

    I love you Leena and I’ve watched you for so many years. I am just struggling to understand how Alaina still doesn’t sleep alone but you would push Jonah to sleep alone when he’s a little baby. I know you need your mental health, I want to understand, I really do. I have to go to bed at 6-7pm with my boy, I don’t get any time for myself, barely any time with my husband but it’s a season and my baby’s mental health is the most valuable thing I can give him.
    I really don’t want to make you feel guilty, I know I’m not helping, I think if it’s making you a better mom then I guess sleep training can be beneficial but I could never hear my boy cry ☹️🥺

      Leena my son is around Alaina’s age and we never sleep trained him. We did get him to finally sleep in his room and bed all night. We just kept reiterating that it’s his room and his bed and we sleep in our bed. Give her lots of love before bed and comfort toys/blankets. If she cries go in and comfort her but then leave once she calms down. Try not to stay with her until she’s asleep. She will figure it out quickly!

    Good luck with sleep training! My second born was very clingy as well and he cried too much plus he was quite aware by then, so my way was just lay down for 30 minutes until he fell asleep and then put him in the crib and I would get up and feed and then put him back in the crib each time. It was alot of work and I did it for a week or so but he got the message and it got so much easier for both of us.

    I know how difficult it is (mentally/emotionally) to struggle postpartum. You are doing the best you can. Here is something someone said on Reddit that I found to be helpful when I was debating on how to go about sleep training.
    “It seems to me, and this last part is entirely my opinion, that since I don't believe self soothing as a skill is possible to teach, the best way to get babies to sleep more independently, if that is your goal, is to ensure that they are comfortable and able to be comforted by their environment, and the most effective way to do that seems to be a slow weaning type method (as in, weaning from one method of comfort to another, not necessarily weaning from the breast although that might be the comfort source you want to wean from). Some of the non extinction proponents call this habit stacking - increase exposure to a new source of comfort, then decrease exposure to the old one, breaking the reliance on it.”
